Great place to stay to enjoy the best of CDMX. Comfortable and cozy apartment with everything you need. Host is delightful and the location is purrrrfect!
I stayed for an entire week and explored CDMX from this safe, central location on foot.Lucero was a very communicative and attentive host and I couldn't recommend this location more for travelers who are comfortable with and respectful of staying in a "local" apartment unit with superb access to the Roma/Condesa neighborhoods and all they bring!
My husband and I travelled to Mexico City for our 6 year wedding anniversary. We did a lot of the tours through aviator and had so much fun. This VRBO location was perfect and we felt safe. I did a lot of research prior to this trip. Luchadores Mexican wrestling on Friday night complete with Mezcal tastings and Mexican craft brewery (tour guides Daniel and Balerie were amazing too!) through a tour and we did a hot air balloon ride, breakfast in a cave and tour of Teotihuacán (tour guide Diego was the best here!) in one day, that was my favorite! Visited Frida Kahlo museum and did a fun bike ride tour in Cayoacan region of Mexico City. Last day we visited the huge Anthropological museum downtown and also did some historical districts too one day and ate at the only Michelin 1 star food stall in Mexico City.
Cozy comfortable and convenient in a wonderful neighbourhood
This was a unique and fun place to stay in a lovely, green part of central Mexico City. The host was very communicative and helpful.

Casa Lucero was lovely and the neighourhood is absolutely really amazing! The host was also super communicative and helpful. To make our check out easier (as we had to catch a flight) she even let us stay longer on the last day and just leave the payment in the room.
This flat is charming and perfectly located, central to the nice neighborhoods of Condessa and Roma Norte.
The host, Lucero, was responsive and helpful. She provided many restaurant recommendations and checked-in often to ensure our stay was enjoyable.
Highly recommend. Can’t beat the price.
Tha apartment is located in the coolest neighborhood in Mexico City. Great for walking everywhere. Host, Lucero, was super responsive, helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!

Marisol was great. Everything went smooth and she was just a calla way of I needed anything. She checked up one of I needed anything. So much to do in the area. Mexico City is the best.
The location is perfect, in a safe and great neighborhood but very close to restaurants, cafes and shops. Check in was easy, picking up a key at a close location. Very comfortable apartment for 2 people. Description of the apartment is accurate. I would highly recommend the place to friends and family who plan to stay in the area.
Great location, clean modern bathroom, very comfortable bed. Fixtures and couch are worn but also comfortable. Easy access (first floor ), pleasant street sounds during the day but very quiet at night. Lucero is communicative and very friendly. A wonderful base to explore Mexico City
The location of this place is the best, restaurants, coffee shops, parks, groceries stores, taco stands Oxxo, laundromat, walking distance to park Chapultepec, El Angel de la independencia, is the best place that I have ever rented, Lucero is very helpful if anything is needed, the apartment is really cute, and cozy, I loved the antique, and colonial decor, it’s beautiful, I highly recommend this little house, you’ll love it.
Spacious comfortable ground-floor suite, very reasonably priced in an Art-Deco building along the charming Avenida Amsterdam-a perfect location. We relied on the small space heater during our stay in January. I didn't need ear-plugs, but my husband found them helpful. Lucero was a superb host, she provided key information quickly and efficiently and when we needed medical attention went out of her way to ensure we were well taken care of. We've always appreciated Mexican hospitality, and hers was exemplary!
Nice place to stay for a few nights in Condesa area. First floor unit. Plenty of cafe and bistro type places easy walking distance away. The absolute best bakery I have ever purchased from is one nlock away same side of street to the left of Starbucks. Owner of condo was helpful and understanding. We arrived 8 hpurs late do to Aero Mexico cancelling our flight from Texas. Taco Orenico and Chilpa ate very good choices.
The apartment is in a great location in the Condesa, steps away from restaurants and coffee and in walking distance of many sights. The owner, Lucero is incredibly responsive and helpful and checked in frequently to make sure everything was ok. It is an incredible bargain. The only downside is that it could get a little noisy at night as it is on the first floor and faces the street.
The location was amazing. So. Many. Cafes. Some liveliness at night nearby but not enough to keep us up. The water was off for 2 days (not consecutive) due to water shortage. I’d recommend looking into that prior to your stay.
My wife and I spent the most wonderful week at Casa Lucero. There are times you don't know if you are in CDMX or Paris. The apartment is so well decorated and very comfortable. The area can not be beat, right on Avenida Amsterdam, but still extremely quiet which was a surprise we expected more road noise but very little. Lucero is a delight to work with, very communicative, checked in with us every few days. We got in a bit early actually and if you are willing to go pick up the keys, you can get self entry. It was so easy to do with Uber, our driver waited a few minutes, we got the keys, and into the apartment a mere few blocks away. We will be back for sure.
Impeccable accommodation, incredible neighborhood, Viva la Casa Lucero! (great for couple)
Perfect for a couple's get-away! We had a wonderful stay which totally meet our expectations. The neighborhood is a gem to discover by foot, with restaurants, cafes and a beautiful greenway all along Amsterdam street. Public transit is very nearby (1 block away). Parque de Mexico and Parque Espana are a very short walk away, perfect for walks at all times of day. The area is buzing with life, culture and music. The apartment was very comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. Spacious bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and a wonderful living room. Would very heavily recommend for couples! We hope to be back soon. Make sure to visit the museums (10-15 minutes away by uber) and enjoy the local foods. The host was available at all times and very supportive, making check-ins and answering any questions while offering appealing recommendations. Thank you Lucero!

Experience
The location was rscrllent and as described. The host was easy to contact and responsive and helpful. It had been described as a one bedroom apartment. That was inaccurate. It is a studio apartment. Concerning was the 3 lock needed. One for the entry and two for the apartment. They were very difficult and fussy to manage. Without a flashlight it would have been impossible. It had to be locked again once in. This was most time consuming and would be a significant danger should a fast exit be required. Making Lo kid snd keys that work easily and putting s light on that would be an easy fix. The place was very dusty.
My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay at this apartment in Condesa. As described, the place is clean and spacious, with a well-appointed kitchen and bathroom. It's basically one large space with a small dining area/entry hall; the bedroom and "living room" are separated only by a bookcase, but for us it was very comfortable.
Though the location can't be beat, I found the place a bit damp and rather dark. I like to read in the evening, and I had to use my phone's flashlight to be able to see the page. A couple of standing lamps with brighter bulbs would have made a big difference. The other drawback, as mentioned in another review, was the bright outside lights that were on all night and were difficult to shut out, even with the heavy drapes provided in the apartment.
Lucero was a great host and easy to communicate with, and the Avenida Amsterdam is a beautiful area, with lots of lush greenery and great restaurants and cafes. I'd definitely recommend this place!
Great apartment and location, but know before you go.
Travelers to Mexico City in 2024 should be aware that there is currently a water shortage in the city. CDMX is a city of 22.5 million people and resources must be shared.
But visitors should also know the shortage could affect availability of water at their accommodation.
We discovered, upon arrival, that Casa Lucero has water service between certain designated hours. In the off-hours, a storage tank in the building is supposed to provide water to the units, but there were occasions when
there was none.
Lucero, the owner and host, managed to quickly come
up with a "work-around" that off set some of the
inconvenience. She is readily available by cell/text at
any time you have a question or concern.
(A word of caution about the shower: the temperature can fluctuate from very hot to cold in seconds, so take care.)
Overall, our stay at Casa Lucero was very positive.
The apartment is tastefuly decorated. It is well equipped
with everything a visitor might need. And its location in Condesa is in short walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and beautiful parks.
First off, Lucero our host was absolutely helpful in every way possible. We went on vacation at a time when CDMX was experiencing water shortages and Lucero was extremely accommodating. Luckily we only experienced shortages one day out of our entire stay!
If you're looking for the most wonderful and cozy accommodation that's straight out of a Wes Anderson film in the most hip and quaint part of CDMX, then look no further than Casa Lucero! This comfortable and cute spot is perfect for a couple looking to get away to the vibrant and eclectic Condesa neighborhood, which is situated close by to other wonderful parts of town.
We found the apartment to be just what we wanted and more, comfortable bed and more than enough space for our one week stay. There were times when we didn't even want to leave our apartment and just stay in and watch a movie! You'll find a variety of things to do around the neighborhood, such as cafes, restaurants, and a huge and lush park right around the corner if you want to take a morning stroll or a romantic walk at night.
Keep in mind that CDMX is a metropolis with many people out and about at different parts of the day, so you will hear folks walking around and chatting at night, since the apartment is right on the always charming Amsterdam Avenue.
There are some bright lights outside the apartment by the bed, but you can always close the curtains very easily. We can't wait to return, we will be coming back to Casa Lucero in the future!
Our hostess did a good job of explaining what was available in the area but was too humble about the beauty of the adjacent parks, the peacefulness of the community and how safe it was to walk in the area, even later in the evening, and how pleasant it was on the tree lined streets. Uber is always available and relatively inexpensive...much easier than trying public transit which is also available. while free wifi is available in many place what I would recommend is getting a sim card and data for using google maps and for ordering an Uber when not at a spot with free wifi. Lots of utensil in the kitchen, unfortunately no laundry but made do with hand washing and drying in bathroom. GREAT location on a gorgeous street with many coffee shops and restaurants. Also many places for inexpensive street food which were always well used by locals. Not having been to Mexico City for 4 or 5 years I was surprised at the cost of restaurants and coffee shops--- just like back in British Columbia. There are an amazing number of things to see in Mexico City, the Castle is a 20 minute walk away and their amazing museum a short distance from there. Museums, art galleries and historical buildings are everywhere downtown. I forgot, the apartment... amazing for the price. Relatively quiet, certainly enough room, very clean and well decorated. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Would have like a balcony but... Lastly, I always felt safe in the Condesa area, even when lost.
