My family and I had a great time, my grandkids took advantage of the big outdoor and fishing in the pond!!, the Count Fair was fun too, Cindy thanks for the hospitality!!
We enjoyed our stay at Spruce Haven. We have 6 children ranging from 9 months- 15 years old and we all had a fun time. The house was the perfect set up for our family and we enjoyed playing pool, foosball, shuffle board, board games and card games. The enclosed porch and regular porch were also enjoyable. The kids loved the hammocks. We enjoyed the firepit. The pond was fun to boat in and fish in but not clean enough to swim in. We really liked the marked trails and the jokes along the way. The communication with Cindy was great. It is a very beautiful and spacious property and lovely home.
My family and a few friends spent five days at Christmas at Spruce Haven. Cindy had a decorated tree for us, which added a nice touch. The living area is spacious, and the game room is amazing. We enjoyed lots of pool and darts. The fireplace added a cozy feel. A highlight were the hiking trails on the property. We'd love to return.
The whole family, including our dogs, had a wonderful vacation. Enjoyed the trails, the quietness, the game room, the fireplace, etc. Our weather was not the best, but that did not matter, still enjoyed our stay. Loved the house and the area. Definite do again. Thank you for the lovely locally made gifts, very nice touch!!
Thank you for your hospitality Cindy and Tom.
We had a wonderful time at Spruce Haven! We used it as a basecamp for a family reunion with our cousins at Elk Lake. The kids and grandkids had a great time on the pond fishing, riding in the peddle boat and using the stand-up paddle boards. We all took advantage of the trails around the property, the firepit, the par-2 golf hole, the vast lawn and all the great "toys" that were provided. Our Elk Lake family loved it when we had them over for burgers and dogs cooked on the Blakstone grill. There is so much to do and so much fun to be had at Spruce Haven. It's great for a multi-generational gathering. We filled every bed and still had plenty of room to play and relax. Cindy was great. She answered all our questions before and after we arrived. The property is well-maintained, and we will certainly return for our next family reunion!
Our family went for a wedding in the area and wanted to stay together. The house was beautiful and has plenty of indoor and outdoor things to do. The walking trails were really nice. It rained most of the time so we played indoor games between wedding stuff. Loved sitting on the enclosed porch. The hosts were wonderful and we are already talking about going back. Hope we can do it soon.
Spruce Haven is absolutely beautiful and a perfect place for family gatherings. It had everything right there that we all like to do. The home was clean and tidy. The furnishings were comfortable and welcoming. The gifts that were left for me were awesome. I have nothing negative to say. It was a wonderful stay! Thank you Cindy! I hope we can come back!
Cindy’s property was beautiful and there was something for everyone to do! Our family of 8 adults, a 6 mos old granddaughter, and small dog really had a blast making many new memories! We enjoyed walking on the paths through woods, playing games in the game room, and having some time around the bonfire. Cindy was very responsive to my questions. She even had some local treats for us to enjoy! I highly recommend Spruce Creek!😃
Our family of 10 is always looking for a private place to enjoy that has plenty of land as well as house space - Spruce Haven checked all of the boxes. The property was beautiful, spacious, the kids enjoyed lots of fishing (with plenty of catches!), we walked the nature trails and really enjoyed all the house had to offer. From the sunroom to the game room down in the basement level, there was plenty to do and enjoy. Cindy, the host, was amazing with her communication, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. Hope to return some time in the future!
Our children and grandchildren all met up this past weekend. The grandchildren are all under the age of 3.
We love to hike but that is limited with little ones, that is why we loved the manageable trails right next to the house.
We loved walking in the woods! We had plenty of space inside and outside for adults and children. We used the blowup boat to give kids rides on the beautiful pond. Great facility!
Absolutely loved Spruce Haven. Can't wait to visit again. House was beautiful. Pond was stocked with some good fish, the big bass came out to play at night. Plenty of wood for the firepit and smores. Trails were a fun adventure. Golf hole was fun. The game area provided hours of FUN. Cindy, of course, was wonderful. She helped me arrive without too much anxiety that I was forgetting I might need. We had a great time!
Could not be any happier with our stay here. There was plenty of space for our family of 10. The house was clean and so well stocked. There was so much to do without even leaving the property. Fishing, hiking, and campfires when the weather was nice, and on the rainy days the game room downstairs was perfect! The covered porch and sun room were great so you could still appreciate nature when the weather was bad. Cindy made sure everything was perfect for us! Thank you so much!
Great place to stay. This property is very accurately represented by the photos in the listing. Tidy, clean, well organized. Beds were even comfortable! If I had to formulate a complaint, it's that the billiards table didn't miraculously transform me into a pool shark. However, I'm still a pretty mean foosball player.
Thanks for a memorable trip, Cindy.
Home for the Holidays: A Perfect Christmas Getaway
We spent Christmas at this wonderful home in rural Pennsylvania, and it was perfect for our family. With 8 adults, 6 kids, and a dog, there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, yet the common spaces were spacious enough for us to all gather together comfortably. The kitchen was very well appointed, making it easy to prepare holiday meals. The basement was a great space for the kids to play and enjoy themselves, giving the adults some quiet time. The trails through the woods, tobogganing hills, and the outdoor fire pit were fantastic for creating unforgettable family memories. We loved sitting around the roaring fireplace, which kept us cozy, and Santa even found us with a Christmas tree beautifully set up next to the hearth. The house was stocked with plenty of bedding, towels, and cleaning supplies, and it was incredibly pet-friendly with dog dishes and beds provided. Our dog loved it just as much as we did! This home truly provided the perfect holiday retreat, and we’d highly recommend it.
This was our second stay at Spruce Haven and it was absolutely so beautiful, comfortable, fun and relaxing! The house is amazing and clean with the variety of rooms to sleep in and downstairs full of activities for adult and kiddies alike. Our grandkids 4 and 6 loved playing hide and seek when they weren’t fishing or playing up in the beautiful sunroom. Fishing was amazing in the pond and adults and kids caught many many fish! We hiked through the woods that are directly on the propertyy which is so convenient with the kids.. The guys went evening fishing 10 min dive away at the river and had fish stories there too lol. Everything you would need for a relaxing but FUN time is there at the home… We hope to return next year for a longer stay. It truly is an amazing quiet peaceful fun family bonding vacation home and property! Thanks Cindy for allowing us to enjoy this slice of paradise!!
The vacation home was absolutely amazing. The home was very clean and cozy and comfortable. Plenty of beautiful space especially with the downstairs suite with the variety of games tables and two very comfortable bedrooms. We all basically stayed at the home for our entire stay because it was so relaxing with the pond, fire pit, covered porch, hiking the trails etc… I could go on and on. Our 5 year old grandson caught 86 fish!! Honestly 86 FISH!!! He won the family fish trophy that has now become a new family tradition lol. The guys did go to the River one day to do some night fishing which was within 10 min of the home. Great stories to tell there too! Total relaxation for us all. We honestly didn’t want to leave and highly recommend this home for beautiful family bonding and memories.. we loved it!
This house was perfect for our group of 7 guys. The house supplied loads of outdoor activities (cornhole, washers, golf clubs, raft, horsehoes, and many others) to keep you busy. The indoor activities include pool table, shuffleboard, darts and foosball. So, there's plenty to do, regardless of the weather.
I rent homes through VRBO fairly often, and i find that most homes are always missing something. Not this home! The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you'd need to make many homecooked meals.
The house is well maintained, clean, and a perfect location to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Cindy was a joy to work with. She always responded to any question prior to my arrival within a few hours. And, the welcome gift of local goodies was a nice touch.
Thanks so much for opening your home to us Cindy.
What a great place for a large family. We were in the area for my mom’s funeral and I wanted a place that was large enough to accommodate my children and grandchildren to make happy memories. From the moment you walk in the door you get a comfortable feel. Large dining room table that fit 10 easily. The large sectional in the living space fit use all. The bedrooms are spacious and the furnishings are homey. With the pool table, dart board, shuffle board and foosball, and closet full of board games there was plenty to do even when it was cold and rainy. The pond is beautiful and my grandkids had a great time catching fish. The yard is huge for kids and dogs to run. With well groomed trails in the woods there was plenty of adventures to be had. Cindy and Tom ensured that all our bases were covered. Our favorite place was the sunroom for morning coffee and late night card games. Their attention to detail is superb. Peace and tranquility abound in the home. We were blessed to have stayed there.
As you enter through the kitchen door, you feel the wonderful, warm welcome your hosts, Cindy and Tom, have carefully and thoughtfully prepared for your family's vacation stay. There is a large dining area, a sun porch with views of field, forest and pond, and a living room with an enormous couch saying, "Come, relax, sit by the fire, watch a movie or a game on TV.". There are crafts, artifacts, and paintings hinting who the owners might be and sharing their humor and interests.
The three bedrooms up and three bedrooms down offer comfortable beds and each room is uniquely decorated. Large closets and chests of drawers suggest, "Welcome, stay a while." The hall bathroom with washer and dryer stores plenty of thick, thirsty towels and wash cloths.
Everyone's favorite spot was the game rooms downstairs with a pool table, shuffle board, foosball, chess board and huge Connect game. Upstairs was a closet full of board games. During our three late December days of rainy winter weather, there were many choices of enjoyable ways to spend our time together.
When there were breaks in the rain, there were three wooded trails to explore. Just a few miles down the road was Elk Lake High School's track where our grand daughter stayed in shape for her indoor track season. We loved the rustic, very still and peaceful location in the 53 acres of beautiful countryside. ***** For sure!
