It is located in a serene location with lots of privacy and trails to walk. The host made special accommodations for us to arrive a tad early so I could stay on schedule with my health regimen. We will definitely run away to this cabin again for some rest and relaxation!
Beautiful older cabin secluded in the woods! If you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life you can totally refresh in this quiet place. I loved it and will be back!
This was a great home base to visit all the parks in the area. We loved coming back here after a day of exploring and still being surrounded by nature in the adorable cabin. The layout was perfect with us downstairs and my teenage son and his friend in the room upstairs in the loft. Two bathrooms was a olus! Can’t wait to stay here again.
The cabin was mostly as described, however it does not sleep 8; it sleeps 6. The property was secluded and a great place for the kids and our dogs to play. Very close to many great waterfall hikes. The kitchen was a little light on utensils, it was a good thing my daughters came up a day after us so they could bring supplies from home.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The cabin is very cozy and secluded, perfect for a chance to recharge. There is a nice little trail out back too!
Some of the kitchen utensils and cookware need to be replaced, but otherwise it’s a perfect spot to get away and relax. Also the host is very helpful and communicative when I needed anything. Would stay here again.
This cabin is awesome! It doesn’t have a sign out front and it has a hidden drive way so at first we didn’t know if we were in the right place but the picture lets you know it’s right when you see the cabin. It was great for the price and we had great time. The owners have all kinds of information about the surrounding area attractions. The Hatter Cafe is a must visit! The cabin secludes in the woods and has fabulous views!
We came up for a family wedding and the rental was perfect! The beds are comfortable and plenty of space for everyone. The water was hot for every shower and the whole property was wonderful! Even saw lightning bugs from the porch at night. Highly recommended!
This cabin was just beautiful. It was hidden in a quiet spot, but not too far from stores and restaurants. It had plenty of room for all of us to stretch out and relax. I don't know what i loved the most, the huge windows or the beautiful, hardwood floors! If I'm ever on that mountain again, thats where i will stay! And the host was incredible!
Lovely remote cabin located on HWY 157 (Lookout Mountain Parkway) about halfway between the towns of Mentone, AL and Menlo, GA. Mentone is a quaint and beautiful town on the top of Lookout Mountain. Be sure to visit the DeSoto State Park, Cloudland State Park, and Little River Canyon National Preserve. All within a 30 minute drive of the cabin!!!! This area is an outdoor’s lover paradise!!! Or, if your goal is just to relax in a comfy, remote cabin this is place is a great choice.
We really enjoyed our stay. The place is very secluded and private. It is a little dated but served us well. The bed was very comfortable but a little low making it difficult for older folks to get in and out of.
After some problems getting the heat turned on, everything was just great.
We were able to stream of TV shows from our phone so we didn't miss any of our favorite shows.
Highly recommend De Soto State Park and Little River Canyon National Preserve as places to explore.
Would defiantly stay again.
We stay in the area when visiting family and this is our go-to place when it's available! We come back for a reason!
It's a great location with a lot of open space. There's no seeing the neighbors from here. It's easy to miss the drive if you're going for the first time so just look for the electrical wires crossing the road above!
The cabin is lovely with a great kitchen/eating area, as well as good Internet and television service through the ROKU TV that you may be able to log into your own TV service through (we have Youtube TV so it was no problem).
Thanks for another awesome stay!

Adequate accommodations
The cabin is pretty good, about what I would expect for the price point. It is spacious and clean enough (not spotless). It worked just fine for a family of four hiking enthusiasts. However, it would NOT sleep 8 people. The living room furniture is terribly uncomfortable. The master bed needs a platform or box spring to raise it to a reasonable height. I did appreciate being able to do laundry, and the kitchen had everything needed for basic meals. The location and woodland setting are fantastic. As I mentioned, we travel quite a bit and knew not to expect luxury here, so we were in no way disappointed. The only thing I would consider a complaint is the inaccurate listing i.e. beds, and the fact that the water heater makes very loud noises which might need some attention.
There was plenty of room for all of us. It was nestled in the woods which was very nice.
We enjoyed not being in a motel. It was far from the places we wanted to go to. We didn't spend much time at the house. Only one full day there and we were gone all day. It was very peaceful in the morning. I enjoyed the back porch by myself while reading my Bible. The two things we were not happy with was having to deal with the dehumidifier and not enough towels and wash cloths put out for us to use.
Two 1970s kids celebrating their first anniversary of being a couple.
Excellent location. Great cabin. The weather felt fallish is a constant breeze so we enjoyed coffee and wine on the back porch. My sweetheart got up early enough to see three deer in the yard. All I saw was squirrels up in the tree shredding hickernuts. That’s hickory nuts for you city folk. We had our small fur babies with us and barked every time they heard something during the night. So obviously plenty of wildlife came out in the night. Great peace and quiet. Can’t wait to visit again. Only suggestion is clear a few limbs so the beautiful sunset can be seen in the summer too.

Hidden get away
I liked that the property was secluded most of all. However it was a bit tricky to find. I was mostly disappointed with the cleanliness. I washed everything BEFORE using... (utensils/pots/pans/ dishes etc were dirty). The master shower was unacceptable. Notice the inside of shower picture isn't listed. I would definitely replace whomever cleans here. I wish I could attach pictures. The stove was missing knobs to use and the oven in the picture ... it had fallen or been moved as there was at least an 8" gap from cabinet to oven. Overall opinion, if the appliances were updated (which is probably why dishes were dirty and the dishwasher has note that it drops to the floor when opend) and the living room furniture was updated it could probably rent for more. The house simply needs some love and attention. Although I didn't use the upstairs, for someone who needs all beds advertised, it IS missing the double bed in loft area... Nice Cabin with lots of potential, needs some updating and repairs. For the most part, I enjoyed my secluded quiet stay. PS.. The restaurants in Mentone are awesome!! But all other scenery/ advertures will be a nice hour + drive .
This was the perfect spot for our vacation with our dogs. It was clean, had a beautiful view of the forest around it, and the landscapers/cleaners even built up the firepit for us with logs, which we greatly appreciated. Pro tip, that crimson patterned recliner? You need to call that first when you get in. That's the most comfortable chair I've been in. Watching the sun rise and sun set through the windows was emaculate. I would've loved to have been there during snow, but well worth it outside of that. I love this little house.
We loved the cabin and the location. My only complaints would be the sleeping options. The living room needs more comfortable sofa. Maybe even a sleeper sofa. Futon upstairs is not a good sleeping option at all. We had to buy a foam pad and it still was not too comfortable. But would definitely stay here again and just know to bring extra pads.
Very secluded quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed a nice quiet walk on the trail. Very easy to unlock the. door. Bathrooms are Very nice It was very clean The onlly things wrong was the truth second step from the bottom of the step was broken.
Cute little cabin, we have stayed here before and would come back in the future. Easy access. The only downside is having to take your own trash with you when you leave. It wasn't a problem at all, just a little odd to me. But otherwise it was relaxing and enjoyable.
