Would stay again!
A beautiful mix of luxury (indoor hot tub, huge bathroom, very comfortable bed, everything well-kept) and the outdoors (surrounding trees, no noise, deer in the yard). The friendly host gave a quick tour and food recs at check-in. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Mendocino!

Quick weekend getaway
We wanted a quiet place near the coast and found this spot. Lovely 2 day stay. We found a lot of places to visit in Fort Bragg and Mendocino. Wish we had more time to hike and bike and kayak.

A magical time in the redwoods

Quaint, beautiful home
The place was so cute and had everything we needed for the weekend. Filtered water, sparkling water, heated floor, lively gardens, easy location. The bed was a little lumpy but there’s a featherbed over it to help. We will be back again!

Great property and great hosts. Only issue we had was the bed. A bit lumpy and seemed to be an older mattress that they dressed up with a mattress pad. Sore in the morning.

Absolutely Deluxe
It was very well put together, very relaxing, in a beautiful place with tons to do and wonderful hiking / restaurants near by. We will definitely search this out again for future trips. The only room for improvement would be to get more of a firm bed, though it was still pretty nice.

Excellent tranquil weekend stay
Comfortable and tranquil place situated in the woods. Very quiet for relaxing and central location for visiting Mendocino area. Will stay here again when visit Mendocino again. One suggestion though, a small stool for in and out of spa would be nice for me, 5’4” small person would be helpful. Other then that my husband and I enjoyed the stay.

Paradise in the redwoods!
My husband and I stayed here for a week and we wish we never had to leave! This vacation property is the most well organized we have stayed in. It was fully equipped with everything we needed and the host left directions, instructions and tips all around the rental so we never had any questions or problems. The listing was accurate and our expectations were more than met. The place is even more beautiful in person!!! It was quiet and romantic but also very close to the main business district of Mendocino. This was our first trip to Mendocino but definitely won't be our last! We used the hosts recommendations when looking for restaurants and we were never disappointed. The hiking and views from the bluffs took our breathe away. The toilet in the master bedroom did not bother us. Based on others reviews and what we read in the listing before booking it left us no surprises. We were glad we didn't have to go downstairs to pee in the middle of the night- the host also placed a foldable privacy shade that you can prop up around the toilet if you are shy about peeing in front of your partner. We loved seeing the deer that visited the property almost every evening and watching the bluejays and chipmunks from the bedroom windows in the morning. The hot tub was such a luxury to soak in after a long day of hiking.

Hosts are friendly and very helpful. Their place is clean, quiet and we loved the treehouse feel of the bedroom. The location is perfect for short drives to all of the local attractions. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Inaccurate Vacation Rental Advertisement
First of all, if you're looking for a comfortable place to relax, this might not be the best choice. There is no comfy chair or furniture to sit on, which can make spending time inside the rental somewhat uncomfortable. Additionally, the layout of the property might not be suitable for everyone. The bedroom is located up a steep set of wooden stairs that can be quite cold in the winter months. While this might not be an issue for some guests, it's definitely something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues or prefer to have all of your living space on one level. One of the most unusual aspects of this rental is the bathroom setup. There is a toilet located in the bedroom, which can be somewhat awkward if you're sharing the rental with someone else. It's reminiscent of a prison toilet, with no privacy unless you want to go outside downstairs to the bathroom. Additionally, the shower, tub, and mirrors are all located downstairs, which means you'll have to go up and down the steep stairs to get ready in the morning. Overall, while the rental was clean and the owner was friendly, there were some aspects of the property that were not accurately represented in the advertising. If you're looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay, you might want to consider other options. However, if you don't mind the lack of furniture and the unusual bathroom setup, this rental might be a good fit for you

Great little cabin in the woods!
My wife and I were searching for a quaint little place to stay for a few days in Mendocino. We found that and so much more here! The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the hot tub was just what we needed after a day exploring Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Hope and Rennie are wonderful hosts. My wife said “Definitely!” when I asked her if she wanted to come back! Thank you for a great time and a great place to stay!

We had such a wonderful stay ❤️ this is such a unique place and will be great memories to share! For those that read this a few things ... the bottom floor seems to be a common area but it is NOT! The whole thing is yours! Those that question the toilet in the room just know you'll be thankful! Never realized how many times I get up at night and I was so thankful and my husband too! Such a quiet and peaceful experience! Being in the middle of the redwoods yet close to town and Fort Bragg was awesome! The property owners are so nice and make everything so easy! We loved having the hot tub and the little refrigerator and microwave came in handy as well. I highly recommend this property!

Incredible stay !
Absolutely incredible stay! One of the best vrbo experiences we have ever had. The rental was beautiful, clean, with many thoughtful details. The location was very close to town (7 min driving). Behind the rental is 60,000 acres of forest. The view from the master bedroom upstairs is just gorgeous. Loved our stay and hope to be back.

Fun stay in the Redwoods
After a day of driving we were greeted by Rennie as we pulled in. He gave us a tour of the property and some tips on things to do and places to eat. The place itself is really neat. It was like sleeping in a luxury tree house. The room and bed were very comfortable . The bathroom and hot tub were on the first floor which worked out fine. The property backed up to a forest so beautiful area. Hope and Renny were great hosts. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic place to stay in Mendocino County! Such a lovely experience. The place was very clean the house was really helpful and showed us around when we first got there. It was like sleeping in a treehouse. But better way better. And the whole property is surrounded by redwoods. Everything smells so fresh. We were so thankful for the getaway. And we would book again.

Very unique property, with a large jacuzzi on the first floor and a bedroom on the second floor accessible through outside stairs. Very nice view from the bedroom. The property was very clean, with lots of useful local information available.

This place is both unique and fun! The water tower bedroom was great and the hot tub was a bonus! The location is perfect for anyone visiting the Redwoods or the Northern Coast! The hosts were very friendly and informative about options in the area!

The property was very easy to locate, parking was clearly marked and the property was beautiful. The bedroom is stunning--super comfy bed, beautiful sunflower to look at and the grounds were meticulously maintained. A private fenced side yard to store my mountain bike was an added bonus. It was exactly what I needed!

Unique and cozy
Everything was exactly as described. A unique quiet private, place to unwind and reconnect! If you are looking for a place that’s just a little different than cookie cutter, and you are adventurous, this is the place for you. One of the most well appointed places, attention to detail was incredible! The cloud they pulled from the sky and disguised as a bed, will make you want to curl up and stay longer! Now that we didn’t see coming, we wished we’d have stayed just one more night!

We would to respond to Shane Wright's review. Here is our thinking: 1. Shane did not stay here. When he arrived, he verbally acknowledged that he had not read the listing. If he had, he would have read that there is a toilet in the upstairs bathroom, seen the photo of the toilet in the upstairs bathroom, and read about the distance to the Mendocino village. 2. Shane gave a different reason for leaving (which was that we are located farther from Mendocino than he thought) than he stated in his review (which was that there is a toilet in the upstairs bedroom). 3. Shane admitted he didn’t do his homework (by reading the listing), and therefore his 'review' is inappropriate. Sadly, VRBO does not take into account whether a review is factual/truthful, or not.. 4. What he said in his review is untrue. Our posted floor plan definitely shows the toilet in the bathroom (so, yes, he did not do his homework). His review: Toilet in bedroom The angle of the bedroom picture intentionally misses the open toilet in the corner. Can’t Un-see it. 10/17/2021 at 10:37 PM Our response: The bedroom picture is hung flat against the wall (like most art/pictures). Depending upon where you stand in the room, the reflection in the picture glass shows different things. We most definitely did not hang the picture in such a manner to 'intentionally miss the open toilet'. 5. His review is out of line with all of the other reviews we have received (mostly 5's). We have never received a review of a '1'. Something about that seems fishy. The inconsistency is troubling, and unfair to us. He is being vindictive. 6. If you’re looking for a one of a kind place in Mendocino, look no further. Shelly has taken every step to make it feel special, everything is labeled (which made my type-A heart so happy), and exceptionally clean. Large redwoods on property. Loved having the hot tub after hiking all day then sitting in the car.

Back to nature
We were greeted by Rennie just as we arrived. He gave us a thorough review of all the wonderful amenities of he and his wife, Hope’s, lovely Airbnb. You can see and appreciate the many hand made qualities this place has to make your stay feel like you were in a place that was certainly established with lots of TLC. Located on the lower level, the calm setting of the very large bathroom with a perfectly sized hot tub for two and a lovely spacious vanity made from wood used to make guitars, was adorned with just about every toiletry item you would need. An outdoor staircase then takes you up to the bedroom. Walking in this room makes you feel like you just were transported to the center of a sunflower! Rennie meticulously has suspended a parachute above the bed with a cluster of flowers in the middle. It was such an amazing site. The bedroom windows look out to majestic evergreens that surround the property. If you are looking for a place that brings you back to nature, this is the place for you!

This VBRO was great. Probably one of the best VBRO I’ve stayed at. Located in the forest area of Mendocino, it was super quiet and relaxing. The host had everything well organized, super clean and romantic. The host gave us suggestions on local events and eateries. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Fort Bragg.

Peaceful Retreat
The attention to detail at this property was exceptional, all with a peaceful intention. The surroundings were visually impressive composed of beautiful grounds and gardens. It was quiet and everything was clean yet welcoming. Great emphasis was placed on a smooth stay from beginning to end. Many comforts of home were provided and we were able to completely relax and rest during our stay. We feel like we lucked out choosing this lovely place and would certainly book it again.

Road Trip Pit-stop
My husband and I stayed here one night while on a coastal road trip. This place went above and beyond our expectations. The room was cozy and comfortable and we very much enjoyed the hot tub. Waking up to the redwood trees surrounding us was so peaceful and beautiful. Mendocino was a quick drive where we watched the sunset and enjoyed the town. Wish we had stayed and extra night!
