  • It's a beautiful place in Scotland. Picture was taken in the middle of the day but clods were nice, no harsh light and remember that this is ticketed area and there is no access at summer golden hours. Worth visiting, you can also capture some architecture details there.

Great value hotel for a long weekend

A great weekend spent at the Waverley Castle Hotel. Fantastic location for Kelso, Melrose, Galashiels, Peebles and more. Great breakfast and friendly staff.

Great characterful hotel

Great place to stay,yes a few areas are a little run down and tired but other areas are lovely and charismatic which I will take any day over a bland big chain run hotel, food is good and the staff are brilliant ,very quiet and lots of places to sit and relax with a drink.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is nice and quiet and the breakfast is good. Parking is easy but the hotel is also right on the Tweed Cycle route which makes it easily accessible by bike also. We really enjoyed our stay.

We only stayed a short time due to our tight schedule, but we loved every second we did spend here! The property is gorgeous and the hotel is located in such a quiet area with no traffic. It's great for when you want to be close to Edinburgh without being right in downtown. Perfect escape from the city!

Huge improvement

The room I was in looked recently decorated certainly not in need of a makeover like last year. However what makes this such a great place to stay is definitely the staff. They are friendly and efficient, the restaurant staff especially appeared to enjoy their work and happily engaged in banter with the diners alongside doing their job well
