About this property

The Old West Hideout

  • Escape to our authentic Western cabins nestled in a remote valley amid the dramatic North Dakota Badlands, outside Medora. These cabins offer everything you need, and nothing you don’t.
Step back in time and enjoy the badlands. Wake under vast Western skies, surrounded by rugged beauty and profound peace. Perfect for stargazing, unwinding, and exploring Theodore Roosevelt National Park, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, and historic Medora.
    Your serene Western retreat awaits!

    The space
The property consists of two cozy cabins tucked in a little valley in the badlands.

One cabin has a double sized bed on the main floor along with a bathroom. There is a loft upstairs with two double beds and a single bed.

The second cabin is a kitchen and dining room. There is a small oven and stove top, a refrigerator with a small freezer and a counter top for preparing food. There is also a dishwasher.

The cabins have running water, heat, air conditioning, and electricity.

The cabins do not have a TV or internet. The road into the cabin is rather steep and may require a 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle. If you cannot get your vehicle down into the valley, it is a short 100 yard walk.

    Guest access
Guests have access to both the kitchen cabin and sleeping cabin. Only one party will be booked at a time.

    Other things to note
Please be advised there is no TV or internet. Also please know the driveway has a steep hill making the cabins difficult to access with a vehicle that does not have four wheel or all wheel drive. They can be accessed on foot if you’re willing to walk a short distance. The cabins are not handicap accessible.
