Summary:
Cozy and rustic 1-bed retreat for two with lake access and a bear-themed vibe. Features a walk-in shower, kitchenette, onsite guest laundry, and easy access to downtown Medicine Park and the Wichita Mountains.
The Space:
The CUBHOUSE is a one-bedroom, one-bath cabin. Inside, you'll find a bear-themed space with a comfy bed, walk-in shower, and a compact kitchenette for light meals. The cabin is ideal for solo travelers or couples looking for a peaceful spot to relax. With direct lake access and beautiful surroundings, it’s the perfect Medicine Park escape.
Guest Access:
Guests have full, private access to The CUBHOUSE during their stay. You'll also have direct access to the creek and shared access to the onsite laundry facilities. Parking is available on-site.
As of June 2025 Gondola Dam is being repaired and the creek is currently drained on our side. The property is still beautiful and there is still plenty of places in town to enjoy Medicine Creek. But I wanted everyone to be aware that temporarily there is NO WATER on our side of the creek.
The Neighborhood:

Located just minutes from downtown Medicine Park, The CUBHOUSE offers a quiet retreat while keeping you close to restaurants, shops, and local attractions. You're also right next to the entrance of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge—perfect for hiking, wildlife spotting, and scenic drives.
Getting Around:
Free on-site parking is available for guests. Downtown Medicine Park is just a 2-minute drive away, and the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is right next door.
Please note: there is a small, low-water crossing just before our driveway. Standard vehicles handle it just fine, but if you're driving a lowered or low-profile car, we recommend taking it slow when crossing.
Other Things to Note:
We occasionally get visits from our neighbors’ chickens, a pot-bellied pig named Kevin Bacon, and the family dog. We're new to the neighborhood, and they were here first! Most guests really enjoy their visits (we love that the chickens help keep the bugs away). DO NOT allow pets or children to chase or pester them. If you’d prefer they move along, just ignore them they'll keep moving.
You're also in a natural area, so you might spot deer, raccoons, or the occasional fox nearby. It’s all part of the charm of staying close to nature.
Interaction with Guests:
As your host, I’ll let you enjoy your stay uninterrupted, but I’m totally available if you need anything. Feel free to message me through the booking app or call/text me directly.
There are two separate cabins on the property: The Bear’s Den and The Cubhouse. Both are private units, but they share access to the onsite guest laundry, and lake access.
