Lake Michigan Beachfront Cottage Huge Deck Low Bluff Newly Remodeled Kayaks SUP

This beautiful Lake Michigan beachfront cottage has been recently remodeled and is ready for you and your group to enjoy time together on the shores of Lake Michigan. The home has 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, 2 fully equipped kitchens and 2 living room areas and dining spaces. The upper level has expansive 16 foot sliders and transom windows, creating a wall of windows to enjoy the sights and sounds, especially sunsets over Lake Michigan. New flooring, kitchen updates including a dishwasher, granite countertops and a brand new A/C system have also been added.

There are 2 levels in this home that have their own separate entrances, providing a unique ability to have privacy if vacationing with multiple families. Each level of the home has 2 bedrooms with queen-sized beds, a full bathroom with a shower, a kitchen, a living room with a sofa bed, and a dining table/chairs. The levels are connected by an exterior stairway.

The upper dining room table will comfortably seat 8 people, plus there are 3 bar stools at the counter and 4 additional folding chairs. The open concept living space allows everyone to be together, whether cooking, playing games or just hanging out.

All bath towels, kitchen towels, bed linens and pillows are provided. Beach towels are not provided.

Hand soap and bar soap is provided for each bathroom. Dishwasher soap, liquid dish soap and hand soap is provided for each kitchen. 2 paper towel rolls and trash bags per kitchen and 2 toilet paper rolls per bathroom are provided to get you started.

There is a washer/dryer on the lower level, just bring your own laundry soap.

When you step out onto the spacious deck, you'll hear the waves and see the gorgeous panoramic views of Lake Michigan. Relax in the comfortable deck furniture or take a short stroll down the boardwalk towards the lake. Swing in the large wooden swing or enjoy a cup of coffee in the 2-seater Adirondack chairs/table which both overlook the water and beach below.

We have a low bluff (only 13 steps) for easy access to our 60 feet of private beach frontage! Directly next door to the north is Golden Township Park, a public access beach. Silver Lake drains into Lake Michigan by way of Silver Creek which is part of the township park. The water from the creek is often warmer than Lake Michigan creating a popular place for the kids to play! Little Sable Lighthouse is visible from our beach and just a short walk to the south, or you can walk to the north, cross over the creek and have miles of Silver Lake State Park's pristine beach to enjoy.

If you're looking for something to do in the water, we have a 2 individual kayaks, a tandem kayak, 2 SUPs, and a canoe available for your use. We have several inflatable rafts and life jackets in youth to adult sizes.

There are 4 chaise lounge chairs for relaxing in the sun, and many beach chairs and small tables to sit down by the water. We have ladder golf, corn hole, and spike ball as well as lots of sand toys for the kids. Games and puzzles are inside when you're ready to take a break from the sun.

When it's meal time, there's a 6 burner gas grill with 2 side burners to accommodate large groups. Enjoy your meals around the large counter-height table on the deck with (6) swivel cushioned chairs. A picnic table is located outside the lower level for additional surface area for meals or playing games.

Enjoy a fire in the fire pit or sit around the cozy fire table on the deck. Either way, be sure to check out the stars at night! Oh, and did we mention the sunsets? They're incredible, and you'll have a front row seat for each one!

Wonderful place. Huge deck was perfect for our small grandkids to play on, even a toddler gate. Short flight of steps, then a short trek down a sand hill to the beach. A creek running parallel to lake shore was great for the toddlers. They loved all the soft sand. The shed was full of toys and chairs for everyone, the sun shield worked out great! Beautiful sunsets every night, we even made s’mores at the fire pit. The house was well equipped and beds were comfy. Perfect for our family of 7 adults and 4 small children.

Adorable, spacious and quiet

Two houses in one! Very clean. The view is amazing and the beach access is steps away! Parking is perfect for parking a truck and trailer for SxS(50ft). There's also a public parking lot across the street! Two minutes away from Lighthouse. 5 minutes from dunes! Scott and Gwen were amazing and very prompt at communicating with us! We'll definitely be going back!

90th birthday

What a great spot!! Short walk to the lighthouse by beach or road. The deck space was fantastic. Easy for my 90 year old mother to navigate her walker all the way to the edge of bluff to an amazing swing to watch the perfect sunsets. New grill and well stocked kitchen. Beds were very comfortable. No stairs to get down to the beach, had to walk down the sandy bluff which we all had no problem with. Just as easy as stairs. Will definitely look to staying here again.

Memorial Weekend 2025

Worth every penny! Million dollar views! Pictures do not do this place justice! Perfect hosts, very responsive, friendly and courteous. Scott and Gwen have meticulously thought of every detail to enhance your stay! The separate quarters on the lower level worked out perfectly for my brother and his family. My fiancé and I stayed here for our minimoon and it was just the getaway we needed! Such a convenient location but still tucked away right off of the lake. It was so peaceful and super clean. The beach house was amazing!! The decor and the design of the house was perfect. The view from the deck was beautiful and I loved sleeping with the screen door open as you could hear the waves crashing!! We were here for our daughter’s wedding at the dunes on the beach.The house had everything you needed for a wonderful stay!! Scott & Gwen were perfect hosts. Great Stay

Our stay at this property was Great!! Everything as advertised. Great communication. House was exceptionally clean, well stocked, great location., beach and sunsets were great. Beds were very comfortable. No complaints from other guest staying with us. Deck area and acess to beach was good and allowed for alot of people (12) in our party to gather and talk. The separate unit below was good because it allowed some separation with the part of our group who had a family of 6 (six). Unit had a kitchen area as well. Scott was great with communication as well. Plenty of beach chairs, toys etc. The area does not have alo of eating establishments and you have to travel about 20 mins to nearest reasonably pruced grocery store. Definitely would rent again and hope to return if all dates with our family can work out. GREAT STAY!!

Home & Hosts Set The VRBO Standard

Take notes other hosts, this property is how it’s done! We didn’t have a need/want for anything. The hosts literally thought of it all from labeled light switches, a binder full of clear information about the property, kitchen was stocked with quality (NO dollar store silverware TY!) & a quantity of different items, extra bedding, a little first aid kit, binoculars, a shed full of outdoor fun and so much more compared to other places we’ve stayed. Favorite spots were watching sunsets on the deck or in the wooden swing and laying in the sun in the lawn chairs out of the wind. Kayaks and paddle boards were fun on the calm lake days. Upstairs level is decorated so beach house cozy. The house looked clean, smelled clean and was very clean. Just bring your food, paper products, laundry stuff and beach towels. If you forgot something there is a small grocery/party store 5 minutes down the road that has literally everything. Special, special property! Thank you for being amazing hosts and giving my son a very sweet birthday surprise!

We had an amazing experience staying at Sandpiper cottage. The home was exactly as described - huge deck, clean, cozy and well-equipped with everything We needed. The location was perfect close to Silver Lake Dunes or Cherry Point Farm and Market where we had Fish Boil Dinner.Check in was smooth and communication with the host was fast and helpful. We especially appreciated beautiful view and beach and kayak. The area has many nice hiking trails, apple peach farms and winery.I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Absolutely the cleanest place we have ever rented. Lovely views from the "beach before the beach" area. We watch meteor showers which were amazing. We utilized the kayaks and the paddle board as well as a new raft. Very comfortable set up with plenty of room and spaces to spread out. Well stocked kitchen. We made lots of good memories and will hopefully rent this place again in the future. Hosts were very responsive to questions we had.

This is our second time staying at this beautiful house because we loved it so much the first time! It is open, bright, and clean. It has a great layout for a large extended family to stay together. We spent a lot of time on the beautiful private beach (the shed is full of chairs, toys, paddle boards, and fun games) and it is only a short walk to the Sable lighthouse.Less than a 5 minute car ride to Mac Woods, ORV rental shops, and Craig’s (arcades, go carts, putt putt). 20 minute ride to Lewis Adventure Farms (highly recommend for families). Scott & Gwen are wonderful hosts and were easy to contact with questions.

Wonderful house with amazing view!

We had an amazing time at this lakeside cottage! Scott & Gwen have thought of everything that you might need for a great vacation. Our kids loved playing in the sand and creek and there were plenty of beach toys provided. Everything was clean and comfortable. We loved being able to open the sliding doors and hear the waves even when you were inside. There are plenty of fun activities close by but our favorite part was being at the cottage and relaxing!
