Across the street from the train station, deteriorating surfaces throughout the hallways, the elevators and the rooms! That being said, with the exceptional friendliness of the staff at check-in, the phenomenal breakfast and dinner, for free, as well as the service displayed by taking my baggage up to the room and leaving a smiley note was exceptional!! I believe for being a Solo Traveler and just stand for one night, I can put up with a lot of minutiae, for the low price for the accommodation and the tremendous amount of food morning and evening with an exceptionally courteous and smiling reception staff and food caterers I would highly suggest people stay here and ignore the oldness and and some of the areas in the bathroom some mold because equality of the dinner and breakfast is beyond belief and it is free for a small room price! Thanks staff!

It was a nice hotel. We had no problem with the cleanliness or the service. The room was comfortable and the free dinner was nice to have. Recommended.
I stayed for one week. The stuff are friendly eventhough they can not speak English (most of them). The is free ticket for breakfast and dinner which I enjoyed.

It’s was cheap but it was an Old building, staining on floors, dinged and needing updating and repair
This hotel is right in front of Matsue Station. The free buffet breakfast is pretty good, and they also serve dinner. I had today’s special while my son had curry rice. I thought the dinner was just okay, but my son said he really liked the curry. Since dinner was free, we decided to go out for a drink afterward. It took less than a minute to walk to the station building, where there are some restaurants and shops. We chose a Japanese-style pub and enjoyed some local sake. If you’re looking to save money on your trip, this is a good place to stay. There’s even a Starbucks in the station building.
Matsue is quiet and beautiful. I thought it wasn’t a very popular destination, but there were more tourists than I expected.
