"Even though we were a bit far from Berlin, we have nothing but compliments about our stay. The area was so walkable and felt very safe. The room itself was incredibly clean and everything worked perfectly. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The front desk, especially, made us feel exceptionally welcome. We were able to partake in the breakfast on our last day, and we wish we had been able to the other days. The food was delicious and very fresh. The bread...

"Had a one night stay as we were driving through the area. Cons: No AC in the room, and it was WARM. Old and rock hard beds. Rooms were very loud, and i could hear my neightbour snoring just as well as i heard the traffic from the autobahn. Breakfast was ok. Not too much to choose from, but for the price of the stay i guess it was ok. Pros: Easy and accessible parking. Friendly staff. Very close to the Autobahn, easy choice when you are just travelling through the area."

Tropical Islands Resort

10/10 Excellent
"Overall a really fantastic stay and can’t wait to return. When we arrived it was very difficult to establish where to check in as multiple check-in locations were closed. Eventually when we did check in, they will never check you in early - they even suggest you park your car at the lodge, which is strange as you can see your lodge available and ready to use but the key doesn’t work till 3pm. Then when it was 3pm we walked back to the lodge only from the hangar to find the key didn’t work so had to walk back to the desk (15 minute walk each way) whilst my wife had to feed our crying baby on the steps of the lodge. Other than that, it’s such a cool place and our lodge was lovely. The restaurant in the tiki bar, was absolutely fantastic and was way above our expectations. The wristband system for paying for everything is dangerously easy! As mentioned, we travelled with a baby and aside from the check-in process, it really was perfect as the water is a lovely temperature and no danger of being cold out of the water in tropical climate of the hangar. We had Amazonian lodge with a sauna and it was brilliant. As stated before it’s a 10-15 minute walk which is fine (as long as your key works..!)"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Massow?
The best area to stay in Massow is directly within the village centre, particularly around the main road, Dorfstraße.

This central area of Massow offers a tranquil, rural experience, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Brandenburg region. The Dorfstraße is the main artery, where you'll find a few local guesthouses and direct access to walking and cycling paths that lead into the surrounding forests and lakes. It's a small, quiet village, superb for those looking to escape the bustle of city life.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find the village centre ideal. It's a wonderful base for enjoying long walks in nature, perhaps around the nearby Massower See (Lake Massow) or exploring the gentle countryside by bicycle. Evenings can be spent quietly, perhaps enjoying a meal at a local inn, if available, or simply relaxing in the calm surroundings.

Families might appreciate the open spaces and the opportunity for children to explore nature. The lack of heavy traffic and the abundance of outdoor activities like swimming in the lake or forest walks make it a relaxing destination for a family holiday.
When is the best time to go to Massow?
The best time to visit Massow is during the late spring and summer months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is at its most pleasant.

During these months, you can expect warmer temperatures and longer daylight hours, which are ideal for enjoying the natural beauty of the Brandenburg region. The countryside around Massow truly comes alive, making it superb for outdoor activities.

Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will find May, June, and September particularly appealing. The weather is comfortably warm, and the areas around the lakes and forests are less crowded than in the peak summer weeks. This allows for peaceful strolls, boat trips, and enjoying meals outdoors without the bustling crowds.

Families planning a summer holiday will find July and August offer the warmest temperatures, which are great for swimming in the local lakes or enjoying water sports. Many local farms and attractions are fully open during this period, providing plenty of activities for all ages.
