About this property
Panoramic Holiday House Casa Gaia Sorrento
This beautiful Villa is located on the hills of Sorrento. The house is certified in accordance with the environmental quality geo-bio® . Accordingly to the energetic elements, analyzed by the criteria of Feng-Shui, this is an idyllic location and situation, an ideal place to build a house, 'in the central point of a natural amphitheater, formed by hills, where a watercourse joints with breast and loops'. The house is right in this situation, chosen by the ancient builders. The house is on a quiet street, just below the main road which is connected to buses to reach Sorrento, Nerano and Amalfi Coast. This street is for the exclusive use of the inhabitants of the few surrounding villas and the condition of silence and relaxation of the villa and of the stay is assured. The house is surrounded by a luxuriant garden, in the garden there is a lovely swimming pool where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the gulf of Naples and Vesuvius. All the rooms of the house have a double entrance: one from the internal and one from the patio or from the garden. This allows for total privacy for all guests. The main part of the villa, has got a big patio with barbecue, wood-oven, a dining table which can easily accommodate all guests. There are gazebos with relaxing and sitting areas. Entering the main apartment of the villa, there is a nice living room with a flat screen TV of 32 inches with satellite connection to watch channels from all over the world, with fireplace sofas and a sofabed, and a well equipped kitchen, a bathroom, both (living and kitchen) with direct access from the patio. The sleeping area is at upper floors. There are 3 bedrooms, each with terrace, balcony or patio, 2 full baths, a little exercise room and a bio-sauna. The 4th bedroom is located in a dependence of the villa. This is really another little apartment, with a second and well equipped kitchen, a convertible sofa bed (two complete single beds) and a bath ( It can be rented also separately). There is secure parking for cars. The house is built accordingly to the principles of bio-architecture, healthy materials and furnishings, the whole site is rebalanced by natural and artificial electromagnetic fields as well as being harmonized with special water and crystals that make the stay 'revitalizing' and 'regenerating'. The harmony and the energy of the place is immediately perceptible and visible even from plants and their fruits that can be enjoyed according to the seasons. The guests can enjoy and take fruits/vegetables from their own private garden (accordingly to the availability and to the seasons). The prices on the site are indicative please contact the management to agree on prices and learn about the offers. The prices refer to the rent as a holiday home, without breakfast. The owner of the Villa, which is the bio-architect who has recently rebuild the house, lives in a separate apartment (not rentable) of the villa. She is very friendly and helpful (in case is needed). The villa is made in a way which allows you to have your full privacy. It is possible to organize courses (theoretical and experiential): Geobiology and habitat medicine Dendroterapia walks and revitalizing Energy readings of archaeological sites and natural sites (Pompeii, Herculaneum, Villa Pollio Felice, the Path of Minerva, the Path of the Gods) Space Cleaning (psychic burdens of the people) We are in the Sorrento coast, equidistant (about 7 km.) from Sorrento, Positano, Nerano, in a ridge of the Mediterranean, an unspoilt area rich in flowers small streams and breathtaking views. less

The villa is very charming! It was immaculate! My grandkids loved the pool. I really enjoyed the beautiful patio with views of the Amalfi coast. We all enjoyed walking to the town above us on a quaint lane. The grounds were outstanding & well maintained. Our host Elio was exceptional. He was tremendously helpful. Happy to arrange transport & any request we had. Maria was very helpful about details of the house. It was a pleasure staying at the villa. There are stairs that might be an issue for some. Also a bit far from Sorrento but we easily got taxis or bus. Very relaxing time. Much thanks to Elio!

Excellent hosts and lovely property. I would stay again! Treated my family very well!
The location is gorgeous! The views were spectacular and small town is walkable from the home. St Agata was a great place for food, grocery and setting up our tour of Amalfi. We enjoyed our stay here and the outdoor space was perfect for a large group. Thank you for hosting us!
Casa Gaia, from where we've enjoyed the most superb view over the Bay of Naples and the Vesuvius, is a truly enchanting place.
The house is very generously equipped- from plentiful seats, tables, deckchairs, towels and kitchen equipment•••
The manager, Michele Maresca,
made our stay a most pleasant experience- competent, reactive and helpful, all of which made our vacation so utterly enjoyable!!!
The Villa is superbly located in a quiet area of Sorrento yet close enough to walk to local villages and into the town of Sorrento itself. Buses were very affordable and frequent which made going on tours from Sorrento easy. We visited Capri, the Amalfi coast, Pompeii and Herculaneum and took part in limoncello making which was organised by Michele the host who also cooked pizza for us and arranged our transfers from and to the airport. This is an excellent Villa and location for exploring this area of Italy which was made even more special due to the hospitality and ease of contact with the host. Would highly recommend a stay here.
Michele was a terrific host. He assisted with transportation and suggestions for restaurants. As an added bonus he cooked us the best homemade pizza in the brick oven at the patio. The property is located close to great neighborhood of Sant’agata, which is about a 10 minute walk from the Villa. It has several nice restaurants and cafes. There is a panoramic view of Sorrento from the villas patio and pool area. The house was spacious for 4 adults and clean. Would definitely recommend this property!
A week with 3 generations under one roof was perfect. The host Michele is a chef so prepared us a pizza night that was delicious and so much food we had leftovers for 5 adults the next day. Michele brought us fresh tomatoes and eggs from the onsite garden and chickens. There’s a great view of the sea. The veranda is gated which was ideal with a 3 year old and 1 year old. A short walk into the village and an easy drive for day trips around the Amalfi Coast. Highly recommend this villa for a group. So much outdoor seating and plenty of shade. The A/C units worked great for us Americans ;)

I want this to be an honest review for American travelers. I certainly don’t think that everyone expects the same level of service and accommodations that we do so please understand that we are people who typically only stay in 4.5 hotels in the US.From a positive standpoint- this property is an easy walk (for abled people) to an incredible little town called St. Agata. It has wonderful restaurants, cafes, a pharmacy, a toy store, a small grocery store, a sandwich shop, and several other wonderful shops to enjoy. This is under emphasized in the reviews. For us it was a hidden gem. FYI we traveled with 4 adults and 3 children (4,10, 12yo). The house had a good location - about an 20 min cab or uber ride to Sorrento. Our host was also very responsive to problems. He responded almost immediately and took care of any issues the best he could. The downside to this property: The pool is tiny. You almost can’t call it a pool. The furniture outside is terribly outdated and broken. The outdoor kitchen is outdated. The house has no ventilation so you smell mold the entire visit. There is mold on the walls in the bathrooms. My son had sinus issues immediately when he went to sleep. The kitchen is incredibly small. There are ants in the upper bedroom. For us the biggest issue was the smell. Unfortunately there was nothing the host could do about that. He tried to paint over the mold but that doesn’t remove it. For those who want a 5 star experience this is 3 star.
As a group of six , we had a lovely stay . We were greeted on arrival by our host, Michele. He gave us a tour of the property and contact info . He had arranged for pick up from the train station and our driver was lovely .We booked him for our return trip .
There is plenty of space indoors and outdoors . The pool was a nice bonus for the hot August heat .
There is a footpath right next to the house which brings you directly into the village . Highly recommended Orlando’s and Wine Bar which is just a short walk at the end of the path .
Michele hosted a pizza night for us with his lovely wife ….best pizza ever !!!
The fresh tomatoes and plums from their garden and an overly bottle of wine were waiting for us on arrival were delicious.
For a larger travel group , this is definitely a place to consider .
Thank you so much for an amazing 5 day stay !

Disappointed
We were a group of 5 adults 50 - 70 age group.
1.The pictures for this property are very deceiving. The Home is beautiful but is in bad need of updating.
2.There was a damp musty smell in the home.
3.The pool area (which did not affect us as we did not use it- but we walked on it to take pictures of the excellent views) a lot of the surrounding deck and railings were rotted and in my opinion were an accident waiting to happen. One of the patio chairs was rotted and broke when my husband sat on it.
4.Communication with owner was excellent however but this property was not something that I would want to spend a week in.
5.The towels supplied were dreadful.
6. Location wise was good.
Overall if the property was updated, I would most likely recommend.
The house itself was set up perfectly for our 2 families that stayed here. We loved spending our time outside at the pool and dining al fresco. The air conditioning in the rooms worked great and were much appreciated during the heatwave Italy was having. It is a 10 min walk to Sant’Agata and it has everything you need! Bar Orlando was one of our favorite places to eat. The food and drinks were great and a good price. Fiorentino had great pasteries and the gelato shop in town was delicious!
If you want a true Italian village vacation, this house is perfect. Warning though, if you plan on going to Sorrento a lot to get to other places and do not have a car, it will cost you. It was summer travel season, but the 15 minute taxi ride up the hill to the house from Sorrento was 60-80 Euros each way. The host, was great at booking a driver to take us places and they had the best price (60 Euros). When we would find a taxi to bring us back they would charge (70-80 Euros). We would have asked the host to get us his driver to bring us home, but we were never sure of the time we would return. The good thing is that the taxi were large and able to bring all 8 of us in one in 1 trip. Not sure if you had a car how easy parking would be around town or how much it would cost.
We would definitely come back and just stay at the house and walk to Sant’Agata for everything.
I stayed at Casa Gaia Sorrento with five of my friends for four nights. We found the house to be perfect for our group. The property is gorgeous and the pool was perfect to relax by and enjoy some wine and food. We loved how big the outdoor space was and ended up spending most of our time outside on the patio and by the pool. Even though the location was about a 18 minute drive from the Sorrento town center, we really enjoyed being away from Sorrento because it was nice and peaceful. Michele was a great host and very attentive and answered all my questions via WhatsApp.
There are a few things that we would strongly encourage Michele to address. The first is the WiFi, I think there needs to be better WiFi coverage in the house on the upper levels especially. The second is the hot water, there was no hot water in the primary bathroom on the top level. I waited 15 minutes for the water to warm up and it never did so I had to either use another bathroom or take a cold shower. Last is the ants that were in the double bedroom. My friend woke up covered in ants and had ants in his suitcase. The ants were a big problem for us and this needs to be addressed immediately. If someone was allergic to ants and got bit, that would be a big problem.
All in all, the house was great and we really enjoyed our stay there! Thank you Michele for being a great host!
Beautiful villa but ran into too many unique issues
I truly would love to give this villa a 5 star but I simply can't based on our unique experience.
Pros:
- The host was very easy to communicate with and very responsive. They live 5 min away so they were quickly to react to any questions/issues.
- The local town is exactly a 7 min walk to the first restaurant. Another 10 min to the grocery store which is on the end of the town. The walk is a bit uphill. Don't use Apple Maps or google maps as it won't show you the proper way. The walk is a private walkway and not the street so no cars and much faster.
Cons:
- We kept running out of hot water - it seemed like only one shower can get hot water at a time. There was a water main issue in the main town that lasted one day that may have contributed.
- We tripped the circuit breaker once and lost power
- We had to carry our bags out the back when we left because the gate remote didn't work
- I asked the hosts to schedule a taxi for us and ended up getting over charged. I scheduled myself afterward for a much better rate.
These issues might have been a one time issue but I got quite upset running out of hot water with suds in my hair twice.
It was a beautiful villa and there is a good chance the issues we ran into won't occur with others but given the amount of money we paid for the villa, I expected a smoother stay. I don't think we will be back but since these issues are easily fixable, I would expect the host to address quickly for future stays.
Fabulous stay at Casa Gaia with our family. The wonderful host even brought us some fresh eggs from his chickens. The pool was a nice treat & the viees are stunning. The nearby village is so lovely and a nice walk.
We spent a lovely week at Casa Gaia and couldn’t have asked for a better base to explore the area. The location is ideal—peaceful, scenic, and with easy access to public transport, making day trips a breeze. The villa itself is well equipped and offers beautiful views of the bay of Sorrento.A special thanks to Michele, who was always available and ready to help if needed and made us feel welcomed and supported throughout our stay.Highly recommended for travellers looking for a great spot to explore the local area.
The villa was absolutely perfect for our 5 night stay in the sorrento area! Michele was an absolute perfect host & helpful with all of our transfers & excursion planning. The little town of Sant Agata is wonderful with some great restaurants! It’s a short walk. Highly recommend!
Glorious location. Very beautiful interior and exterior living space. 6 adults can be very comfortable in the 3 bedrooms. The property manager was attentive and quick to address any of our needs. Convenient appliances, including a washing machine. Cute town is an easy walk from the house with everything you could need. Can't wait to go back!
The villa is tucked away on the hills, but easily accessible by bus. We loved the views of the bay, Mount Vesuvius, and the fog rolling in each morning. The patio space was a great feature, especially for the seven of us (4 adults, 3 teens/pre-teens) to hang out and have meals. We also put all that energy to use walking the pedestrian paths to Sorrento and Sant Agata.
Graziana was the perfect hostess and her home was a lovely haven. We loved our stay - from the beautiful property to the amazing cooking lesson to the lifelong friendship we now have with Graziana. We are already making plans for our next visit. The whole experience was priceless. Grazie Graziana!
Michele was a wonderful host, very attentive and helpful. The pool was surprisingly small, considering the picture of the property.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property for a large group or family.
Thank you.
