The Dickey House, Prairie Suite

A very large suite on a Victorian estate conveniently located in the middle of town. Loft style suite includes a king size bed with mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. High speed Internet. 2 person tub is perfect for a relaxing soak (no jets in the tub at this time).Fireplace not included.
Twin roll-away bed available for an additional $20.
Romantic getaway or a relaxing stop on your journey. Walking distance to three local restaurants.
Enjoy walking the grounds and the pavilion if available.
NO SMOKING, NO PETS, Next to railroad tracks (Train goes by about twice a day and noise lasts about 30 seconds.)
1908 Victorian Mansion sits on 1 acre of land in downtown Marshfield, Missouri. The Dickey House has hosted a US President, multiple Missouri Governors and historical figures such as Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Nice place

Overall a good place to stay. Loved having a jacuzzi, and the owner was helpful in telling me the place I originally booked would not have that, and moved me to another unit because I was looking forward to it after a long drive.

The Prairie Suite was much nicer than I expected. As long as you can climb stairs, it's a great spot for two people to stay. The Internet was strong which is always important to me.

Overall the property was quaint & quiet and the stay was comfortable. A little more attention could have been paid to what kind of amenities are provided and the (deep clean) cleanliness of the apartment.

Cozy and Unique

We enjoyed our stay here. It was affordable, unique, and cozy. Definitely felt like someone had put a lot of thought and care into it between the simple check-in process and small touches here and there. Anyplace that provides Q-tips and deliberately doesn't have a list of cleaning things to do before checkout is winning in my book. It is right next to a train track and there was a train that woke us up in the middle of the night, but we would definitely stay here again.

I booked the room several months in advance and paid in full. I arrive late at night (12:30AM) and entered the door code, only to find my room has been double-booked. I walked in on other people while they were sleeping. I was mortified. I called the property owner, and no other rooms were avilable. She apologized. I had to drive 30 minutes away to get a hotel room in Springfield. I did get a refund. This would have been my second time staying at Dickey House. I won't be back.

Wonderful!

Wonderful experience all around! Great communication with host, well appointed studio type apartment. Great water pressure and enough hot water to fill the jacuzzi tub. A really great Mexican restaurant (Las Cazuelas Mexican Restaurant) not far away and a great flea market (Antique Merchantile) close as well. Love our stay and will stay again when in the area.

Well kept property.

First night train came through,but was quiet other than that. Accomodations were excellent. Hostess was very gracious. Listing was vague on which cabin was ours when checking in. We would consider staying there again.
