We had a wonderful stay at the Stines House on Twin Willows in Mars Hill NC. The hosts were welcoming and the historic house more than adequate for us. The grounds provided activities and hikes for the young and young at heart.
This is the third time our church has rented the property in some capacity from Joe and it is always a joy being there. Joe is the ideal host, readily available, quick to respond, and extending warmth and welcome. We always recommend going to his food truck on the property too--delicious BBQ! Cannot recommend Joe as a host or this property highly enough. Truly a joy to stay there every time!
With this 7brs and 4 bath house, 5 adult couples had plenty of room for sleeping, eating and game playing. Dinner in the little chapel, prepared by Joe's food truck was amazing. Perfect location. We'll be back again and again.
The property and house are beautiful. Joe is incredibly attentive and kind. We had a wonderful stay and were delighted to share dinner one evening at Joe’s mobile kitchen!

Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
1: The kitchen is not equipped with enough essentials and cook wears especially for big families and specially for people who would like to make family dinner every night.Just for an example a grater or can opener should be there. 2: please make sure not to take shower at the same time or the water will get cold. First night after we came from snow tubing, my daughter and my sister took shower and then I had to go with my 2 yr old. the water got freezing cold and my baby was crying. And we waited at least 15 mins for the water to get hot again. This was a very bad experience.3: There is a plumbing issue upstairs. The sink in 2nd bedroom and the tub drain is clogged. Actually the kitchen sink was kinda clogged too.4: The house was full of beetles. I mean they were everywhere from sink, bathrooms, living area, kitchen, ceiling and even beds.5: There is not enough laundry detergent specially for larger groups who are staying more than 2 night.6: Housekeeping people need to do a better job sweeping and mopping. Under the couches were disgusting and our little poppy brought a capsule in her mouth from under the couch.7: There is no TV in the living room. You can’t watch TV as a family at night. We just played games. 8: The king bed upstairs has the worst mattress. They just attached 2 twin mats together with a fitted sheet. This was the most ridiculous king mattress. My 2 yr old had to sleep with us and she was in the hole in the middle. So uncomfortable.
