Central Marquette
Central Marquette pairs Victorian charm with Lake Superior's stunning blue backdrop. Red sandstone buildings like the majestic county courthouse define this historic district. Washington and Front Streets showcase original brick facades and vintage shopfronts. The Lower Harbour offers scenic waterfront paths where travellers can watch boats and stunning sunsets. Walkable streets connect local brewpubs, boutique shops, and farm-to-table restaurants serving whitefish and pasties. Northern Michigan University adds youthful energy to the area. Most attractions sit within four blocks, making exploration easy without a car.
Founders Landing
Founders Landing gives you front-row access to Lake Superior's stunning shoreline and Marquette's rich maritime heritage. The scenic boardwalk invites leisurely strolls with historical markers telling tales of the city's iron ore shipping past. Modern condos blend with the natural landscape, creating a peaceful waterfront escape. This area balances quiet residential charm with easy city centre access. Take in panoramic lake views, watch pleasure boats bob in the harbour, or enjoy starlit evening walks. The pristine shoreline offers perfect photography spots while connecting to Marquette's extensive trail system.

Downtown
City centre Marquette offers a refreshing blend of history and lakeside charm along the shores of Lake Superior. Washington and Front Streets buzz with local breweries, artisan shops, and eateries that showcase regional flavours. The waterfront promenade invites visitors to stroll along scenic paths with stunning lake views. Maritime heritage comes alive at the Marquette Maritime Museum, while nearby McCarty Cove provides perfect access to Superior's azure waters. The walkable district makes exploring this welcoming Great Lakes gem a true pleasure.

"Biggest issue was the hot tub being down."
Superior Stay Hotel
"This is a very nice new hotel which included a free washing machine and dryer within a common area of each floor. All staff members were extremely friendly, helpful and pleasant. The breakfast buffet was great. It had fresh sliced homemade breads and cinnamon rolls."
Best Western Plus Marquette Hotel & Suites
"Probably one of the cleanest and beautifully decorated hotels we have stayed in."
Staybridge Suites Marquette by IHG
"Our suite truly was a suite. There's a complete kitchen with cooktop,, pots and pans, utensils, and dishwasher. The comfortable bed has a night stand and reading light on both sides, plus down pillows All the expected amenities are there - microwave, large fridge, coffee, etc., . Square footage was outstanding. Even the usually dreary self-serve breakfast was a step above the norm. There is a comfortable common area for a small group, just off the main lobby, with a huge screen TV, books, and board games. Earlier on this 3-week trip we had stayed at a place half as good and twice as expensive. This was the best value I've seen in a hotel - well - ever!"

"This place was one of my favorites on the trip. The room was beautiful and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel had snacks and an evening get-together on the patio. You could walk to dinner and take a bike ride in the morning. Liz, the concierge, was so sweet and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it."
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marquette by IHG
"It looked to be fairly recent construction, so everything was still fairly new and in great condition. One of the better express buffet breakfasts I've had recently."
