I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. I appreciate your feedback about how we can make our listing description clearer. I'll address your questions here, and will update the description as well. All the houses in our neighborhood are actually on their own parcel, including my mother-in-law's house located behind the VRBO and the neighbor's house next door. Those houses share a driveway easement in front of the VRBO, and I can see how that layout could lead to thinking these houses occupy a single property. We are indeed in a residential neighborhood, which offers convenient access to town but not the complete solitude of a more rural location. Life at the end of the cul-de-sac is not without traffic, as folks do turn around after meandering down the dead end for whatever reasons they choose to do so. I suspect this is a mysterious phenomenon shared with many cul-de-sac neighborhoods. While the hillside across the driveway is scenic and a well-used wildlife corridor, the Stockton Creek Preserve (https://www.yosemite.com/what-to-do/stockton-creek-preserve-trail/) is located on the ridge behind the property. The preserve is 400+ acres and includes over 4 miles of hiking/mountain biking trails. I'll make sure to provide better directions to the trailhead to avoid others experiencing the same confusion.
