Our stay was amazing! It was a great family vacation and the house had everything we needed. There was plenty of space for everyone! We will definitely be staying here again
We traveled with a group of 8 adults. Had the best time at the Elk House. The rooms were great, the kitchen was stocked with anything you needed for cooking. The view was gorgeous. Hot tub and sauna were an amazing way to relax in the evening. The home itself was clean, the yard was beautiful, would 100% stay there again.
Had a great stay at the house. Plenty of room for three couples and the amenities described were very accurate. We had 3 full sized pickups with trailers and there was plenty of parking. Beautiful view of the lake and very quiet. We would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful stay at this VRBO. The accommodations were clean, exactly as described, and perfectly suited to our needs. We especially enjoyed fishing off the dock and exploring the nearby Porcupine Mountains—such a beautiful and peaceful area. We even saw a wolf while driving to town! The home was incredibly relaxing and ideal for entertaining with multiple young kids. Highly recommend! Owner and management company were very responsive and helpful.
We absolutely loved staying at the Elk House! The property is exactly as described and the house was very clean and well stocked! We really appreciated use of the hot tub and sauna to relax after hiking. The lake was not only beautiful, but a great source of recreation, including swimming, fishing, and kayaking. I would highly recommend!
We came here for a cousin’s trip and had an amazing time. Super fun to be right on the lake, and we took full advantage of the kayaks, fire pit, hot tub and sauna. Such great amenities to have! The house was spacious and comfy and in such a pretty part of the country. And we saw the northern lights our last night there! We all sat out on the dock in awe. It was very magical. Would absolutely stay here again. Just one thing to know-the amazing views of the lake from the big kitchen/living room windows also come with a lot of sun in that area of the house in the afternoon/evening, which got a little warm and bright (those windows fave west). But also provides incredible sunset views too!
From renting to checking out, everything was amazing and simple. We enjoyed the house and the area. We were able to rent a pontoon boat and a fishing boat on this lake. Went to Porcupine Mountains, Lake of the Clouds and Bonds falls. One of the best places to eat is about 39 min away but The Konteca was amazing to see bears while eating dinner.
Perfect for our group of 8. Had plenty of bathrooms!!!
Sadly we never used the hot tub or sauna but we never expected such warm weather in October!
Beautiful fall colors and sunsets though.
Great property with lots of room to spread out. Beautiful view, really enjoyed the kayaks. The only thing you need to bring to this property is yourself and food! ATV trails close and accessible.
We had 3 families (6 adults, 5 older kids) and it was just perfect; beautiful lake and views, really well appointed place (kitchen, towels, all these things). Exactly as pictured!
The property was nice and accommodated our group of five couples. The house was clean and well stocked.
Loved the lake view. The only down-fall was the ants.
Family of 11 had a wonderful week at the Elk House Hideaway. The property is beautiful and secluded so you can have a plenty of peace & quiet. The house was perfectly sized for us. Lots of space to cook and enjoy dinner together and also spread out for some alone time. There are some good restaurant choices in the area if you don't feel like cooking. We rented a pontoon for the week from Land O' Lakes Boat rental so we could fully enjoy Lake Gogebic. Highly recommend getting a boat if you don't bring your own. Also spent a day over in Bayfield area and another day up in the Porcupine's. Loved the house, the lake, and the region. Would definitely return.
Everything about this house and property exceeded expectations. The hosts thought of every detail for a relaxing and easy vacation on the lake. Our multi-generational group (age 13 to 80) enjoyed sitting on the dock and enjoying the quiet lake, exploring on the provided kayaks, hiking area trails, and watching the eagles through the massive windows. It was convenient to be able to rent a pontoon across the lake and be able to dock it right at the house.Communication was prompt and helpful. The hosts let us know when some contractors would be near the house (we hardly noticed them), and quickly delivered a couple light bulbs. We usually stay in different properties, just to see different areas - but this is definitively a house everyone wanted to return to.
This is a wonderful property and perfectly located for snowmobilers and skiers who love to enjoy winter activities. Very spacious living room with enough room for family activities and they had a wonderful Christmas tree up, we were doing our holiday exchange which ended up being perfect! Helena was very responsive and answered all my question even if I asked twice by accident. We enjoyed the hot tub and the sauna and the parking was perfect for as many trailers we had. We will be hopefully booking again next winter. Thank you!
The house was perfect - plenty of family space and also private space, very clean, had everything that we could need both in the kitchen and bathrooms. We had 10 people ranging in ages from 7 to 70, and we all had something that we could enjoy. The setting was so beautiful and peaceful. We had quiet mornings, beautiful sunsets at night, and fun-filled days in-between. There is a nice yard with plenty of room for the kids to run around and all of us could play yard games. The hot tub felt wonderful at the end of a day spent fishing, boating, and playing games! I can't think of anything more that we could have needed. One word of caution - bring water shoes as the lake bottom is very rocky. Even though the lake has a darker color because of the ores in the area, it is very clean. The location of the property is excellent. We visited the Porcupine Mts and did some rock hunting at Lake Superior. But most of the time we just enjoyed the peaceful solitude of the beautiful house and property.
