Thanksgiving 2023 Family Vacation
The property/rental was the perfect size. Check in process was very easy. Michael the property manager was extremely nice. I'm sure he is not aware b/c he seems to have multiple properties. But the cleaning person could do a much better job. Overall the property, location and pleasant communication with the owner made it worth it.

Employee Booking, Month Stay
Booked stay for our employees that were working nearby. Employees had no major complaints about home. Communication with owner was quick and easy. Any minor inconveniences relayed to owner were quickly resolved. Would book again for our employees if we ever have work in the area again.

Mike was responsive with all of my questions. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed with the exception of a toaster ;) It has one now. Its pretty remote so if you are looking for a quiet out of the way stay, this is for you!

Roaches
We checked in and went out to eat and upon our return the kitchen was crawling with roaches. We also found them in the bathroom, the hallway and laundry room. There were also two feral cats climbing into a hole in the screened in porch that agrivated our dogs and disrupted our peace The owners response was to Have us leave the property at 9pm for 4 hours while they bomb the property for the roaches. At that time of night in an area with few to no other lodging options and not wanting to come back to a chemical filed home, we chose to cancel our reservation and drive home. The host agreed to refund our money and to date I have not received our refund.

We we're contacted by the guest about seeing a few bugs. We attempted to relocate her to another one of our properties that was alot more expensive at no cost and she refused and demanded a refund. I've owned and operated this property for 5 years as a guest house and not one visitor has ever said anything roaches and it's rented every weekend.

Really enjoyed this house. Loved the screened in porch in the morning drinking coffee and on the afternoon it rained. The beds are super comfy. Close to the boat ramps and lake. Very peaceful.

What a amazing place
This home is so welcoming.. its like a small hide away.. I can't say a bad thing about the stay.. The host was so kind and helpful.. The house even had coffee an condiments.. Oh and the AC works well.. but the thing we loved the most was the heavenly beds.. so comfy .. I need to ask the brands of mattress, best sleep in a very long time..

This house was very cute, clean, beds were very comfy and the owners were very helpful. The house was close to several boat ramps, driveway was large enough to park the boat and truck. We had trouble with the internet and the owners were very quick to fix it. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Mike for the lovely weekend

Great place to fish!
Sunsets, fishing, little beach area close by. Overall, great stay! This listing was as described. Michael and his family are very kind. They live close and immediately helped when the keypad battery was going low. The area has some beautiful spots and Allen Spence was a fishing guide we used one day during our stay- highly recommend him! Thanks for the experience.

Quiet and peaceful
NEGATIVES::Upon arrival the house had not been cleaned sorry to say. Called the host and he was there literally in 2 min. The cleanliness is really the only issue that keeps me from giving 5 stars. Mike the host is a super nice guy, answered by the 2nd ring anytime I called . But, business is business, no one has ever dusted under the beds, cleaned the cobwebs out of the ceilings, dusted behind furniture or even cleaned out the refrigerator. Again, a great cleaning from top to bottom would get 5 stars. For the price, I would expect spotless. Just opening back up after covid, I would expect spotless. Now for the good things. POSITIVES:; It’s a great little house with many amenities. A/C is the least of your worries here. You could hang meat in this place. 🤓 Screened in porch with ceiling fan was great and comfortable. My wife and I and our small puppy enjoyed it a lot. Anything you need was supplied and if not, Mike the host would get it for you. Satellite TV, wifi, which I needed, Verizon didn’t have but 1 bar here, furnished kitchen, laundry room, everything you need. A very comfortable, private and peaceful place. (with no neighbors, the trailer next door was moved out while we were there) If a group (2 bedrooms and a 3rd really neat loft bedroom)or couple looking for a quaint place to stay while fishing off the pier, or booking a fishing guide, this is a good value and is pet friendly. Three restaurants really close by. However the one at the pier was closed the entire time we were there due to lack of staff. Unfortunately that’s every where right now. Fayes on the Lake has a great menu, really good food and very friendly, and reasonably priced and is literally 1/4 mi walk north, while the pier at the dam is about the same distance just south. You can bring your boat and have numerous launching sites within 1-5 min. The location here is awesome. Way better and much more private than staying at campgrounds but with the same convenience. We will consider coming back. IN CLOSING:: Mike, friendly advice, hire a really good cleaning service to take over the cleaning. I’d have given you 5 stars if the place were prepared and spotless like it should’ve been. Take care of that and we would come every year.

Wonderful house!
This was a perfect house for our getaway! The kids and dog loved the screened in porch with swing. Perfect location to the lake, 1 hour from Charleston and 1 1/2 hours to congaree national park. Family enjoyed a movie night in one night. Owner was super responsive to questions. We would definitely stay here again!

It is exactly what you read in the advertisement. Quiet, clean/cozy, close to boat ramp and restaurants. EVERYTHING is provided. Kuerig coffee machine, K cups, sugar, regular coffee maker, soap, shampoo, towels, paper towels. They have spent a lot of time and money making sure your stay is worth it. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Mike even turned me on to a great fishing spot. Overall excellent across the board. Must go to Fays and also Mill Street Grill for dinner. First time taking vacation in this area, we will be returning.

Horrible Experience
I have never used VRBO before and wasn’t real familiar with the process. I contacted the owner a little over a week out through the message option asking for more information and received no response. I called the number listed and it was forwarded to his business and the lady told me to text the number. I text the number asking for information and still received no response. When I arrived I had no way of getting in and I called the number again and this time the owner answered and just texted me with a code with nothing else to say. On top of that, the place wasn’t as described. The fence did not enclose the entire backyard and I was not able to let my dog roam, it was in a fairly remote area and the only restaurant close by was not a family oriented restaurant. I had two young children with me. The backyard had dilapidated buildings. Definitely not meant for a family vacation. I didn’t feel comfortable staying there so I left the same day. I contacted the owner once again via text and explained my situation with still no response. I called VRBO a couple of times and they said they could do nothing for me. I couldn’t even get a partial refund and I booked it for 9 days so needless to say I am out a lot of money. Will never use VRBO again.

I was contacted by guest and explained everything about our house and gave her the code. The garage in the back isn't part of the rental. She stayed the night and then wanted a full refund when after she decided she didn't want to stay. There are 3 different restaurants in the area.
