We arrived and were thrilled with the location. The house was immaculate and the grounds were great. The seven of us had a wonderful time just relaxing.
We had a nice campfire the first night and some of us went kayaking later in our stay.
A great time was had by our group and we would not hesitate to return. If you're looking for a secluded getaway, look no further.
This was exactly the stay that we needed. It allowed us to get away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life. The water was beautiful and the drive attractions was a short distance given the remoteness of the cottage. I wish the dock would have been up but regardless it was a great experience and would highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay. We never had to comtact the owners because everything was perfect. We loved the lake and the property. House was super clean and ready to go. We had 3 generations with us and we made memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
We had a wonderful visit at this beautiful spot. The house was clean, the beds were a dream, and the view was fantastic. Looking at old reviews I will say the water is fine to drink, and actually tastes pretty good. No worries there.
The cell service is not really accessible without WiFi calling.
I can’t say enough about how wonderful this rental is. I am a clean and neat freak and this place is sparkling clean! They use the best cleaning products. Beds are so comfortable! Extremely spacious! We were up snowmobiling and it’s very close to the trails. The driveway is wide and very truck and trailer friendly! Highly recommend! We plan to book again to enjoy the lake in the summer!
Our family (8 of us) stayed here for a week. We loved it. Such a beautiful space inside and out. It wasn’t far from the picture rock hikes that we love. Almost any window you look out of the house is the lake. We used the kayaks and fished. Caught crappie, bass and a few pike. Overall it was a great time. Thank you to the hosts for being so quick to respond to us when needed. You couldn’t ask for nicer people.
My husband and I loved our stay here, the location was convenient for us, spending most of our days at Pictured Rocks. There’s a ton of firewood, we really enjoyed the fire starters and s’mores kit. The house is huge, you could very comfortably have a larger group. The kitchen had everything we we needed to cook our dinners. The yard surrounding the house is enormous, there’s a very nice little sand beach and the kayaks were great. The lake is so peaceful and you can see it from almost every window in the house. Would definitely recommend.
This property is a true gem. We have stayed in many, many VRBO's, and this home is at the top of the list. Not only is the home very clean, but it's well appointed and private. There is room for the whole family. Everything was very comfortable and there are many options for outdoor enjoyment and relaxation. Please note that this home does use highly fragranced detergent on the bedding and towels for those that are highly sensitive (like my family).
The home is also close to all the things you want to do by Lake Superior - but still remote enough for the peace and quiet we all need. I would highly recommend this home. I plan to book again for our yearly artists retreat. So much inspiration!
The home is beautiful, clean & very accurately depicted on VRBO. The owners were super responsible, provided a nice welcome gift & didn't have an overwhelming set of rules or regulations that I've seen with other rentals. They made the stay very pleasant. They allowed for use of all of their amenities (laundry, fully stocked kitchen, kayaks, firepit, grills, etc.) and had enough firewood chopped waiting that we could have a roaring fire every night of our stay! The floorplan of the home is very open with lots of room for many guests. We had 3 generations staying together during our vacation and not once were there any issues with space. We had a blast and would highly recommend this rental property to anyone looking to visit the UP! Very conveniently located on a beautiful, peaceful lake but only 10 minutes from the town of Munising with stores and gas stations as well as sight-seeing and other fun tourism activities. What a wonderful week! Thanks Abbey & Nick!
Spacious retreat for seclusion, nature, and peace!
Spacious house in a beautiful secluded setting with all the amenities to enjoy the outdoors. Having never been to the UP and coming from the ever-busy Detroit area, it was such a treat to hear nothing except the loons calling and the occasional boat go by instead of endless traffic noise. And the stars did not disappoint! The owners were very responsive and the little goodie basket with a few treats was a lovely touch. Our only issue was a lingering odor of cigarette smoke - especially in the bedrooms where there was carpeting - and the very bright light over the garage which made star gazing somewhat difficult. While we loved the seclusion for a short 3 night stay, it was a bit of a drive to most of the places we wanted to visit so I would probably choose something closer to the Marquette, Manistique or Munising areas next time. It would be a perfect getaway for a fishing or snowmobiling trip or anyone who truly wants to escape!
Host communicated well with clear instructions. Property was great! Loved being able to have kayaks to use whenever we wanted. So many Goslings and turtles! Would stay again if coming back to the area!!
We had a great stay at this property. Very well maintained with space to spread out. Kids as well as adults had a great time fishing from the dock. We had a medical emergency the last night of our stay and were very lucky that Abbey and Nick had provided a laminated sheet with all the information we needed to find assistance. Communication with them was very easy. Would stay here again!
We completely enjoyed the house and the view was better than anticipated. The beds we supper comfy and the surroundings were tranquil! Close to the trails for some ORV riding with my girls and friends!
Thanks for offering such a nice piece of property!

We had such a great stay! The location is very private and beautiful. There are a few other homes/cottages on the very large lake, but this locale is on your own gorgeous penninsula. The setting and home were wonderful. The house was extremely comortable, clean and well stocked. The hosts were very accomodating, courteous, and polite in all communication. Short drive to many waterfalls and other natural trails and wonders. Looking forward to staying again when we next visit the U.P. Love it and thank you!
Staying at this home for the first time visiting the Upper Peninsula was the best decision we made. The house had everything we had and more, you name it and they had it. Nick and Abbey were super nice and answered all the questions we had (best customer service)! We were two different families and it fit all of us and there was still extra space. The view from every window was breathtaking especially during sunrise and sunset! Definitely recommend this home!
Nice to find snow. This has been a bad winter for snowmobiling in lower Michigan. Ran into a county sheriff and he was kind enough to show us some back ways to get to the trails. We might be interested in next year again!
Summer in the UP of Michigan didn’t disappoint! From kayaking, mountain biking, fishing, and hiking, to chasing waterfalls and swimming in the crisp waters of Lake Superior — every day was an adventure. Evenings were filled with bonfires, game nights, family laughs, loon calls echoing across the lake, and the perfect cocktails to top it all off. Grateful for this beautiful, peaceful, memory-making escape in Pure Michigan. #UpperPeninsula #PureMichigan #SummerVibes #FamilyTime #LakeSuperiorLove #CrockedLake
We just finished our one week stay at your house and we loved it!! We had so much room for the 9 of us (8 adults and 1 toddler) to spread out and loved being able to eat all together at the kitchen table. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable, furniture was comfy, plenty of towels, kitchen was well stocked, kayaks and paddle board was a huge hit, grill worked great! We didn’t get to utilize the outdoors as much as we would have liked (for fires and outdoor eating ) because of the biting flies and mosquitoes but that is the UP in June. The lake was swimable, the fishing was good and location was perfect for catching the ORV trails. Two recommendations from the adult kids: another TV in the basement and a mattress topper for the pull-out couch. Would we stay here again if I came to the UP? Would I recommend to a friend? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!THANKYOU Abbey & Nick for having a fantastic rental property for us to use
