"We liked everything about our experience until the very end. We returned our key cards at the front desk and was never acknowledged by the staff member standing there as we departed. It was rather awkward. We will return, I just encourage the staff members to stay focused on their guests. Without us, they would be unemployed. Thank you for a great stay. Carol Sarnac"

"Spillway Lodges was a great midweek buy for us! We did one of the studio queen rooms and it looked just like the pictures on the website. Room was clean and ready for our 3 day stay in Bellaire MI. Room had a full kitchen with all necessities which was great for my wife and I as an alternative to eating out. There was a little grocery store right down the road that had all the food that we are used to eating at home. We took advantage of the provided entertainment areas on the property. Used the putting green daily, played bag toss, walked the old railroad bridge & trail that cuts through the property. We had 3 deer visit the back of our building minutes after checking in so we thought that was good sign for our mini vacation. Only drawback for us... there was no parking for a truck and trailer/boat combo. We were told the boat would have to be left a few blocks away in a community lot which was not something we wanted to do. Overall, very impressed at the midweek summer price we paid for the overall quality of this property. We will definitely go back at some point!"
Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel

"The accessible room with roll in shower was perfect. The room was large and clean. It accommodated a wheelchair very well well. The only problem was insufficient parking for hotel guests necessitating parking in the casino lot which was too far away. I suspect casino guests used the hotel lot. This could be solved by having a gated lot for hotel guests only. Also a better breakfast restaurant is needed."

"Facilities were as advertised and expected. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were put in a room facing the pool and asked if there was a room available across the hall facing the golf course. It was late when we checked in and unfortunately there were no rooms which were clean. However, the next morning, Cindy at the front desk had housekeeping clean a room for us right across the hall. Thank you for all your help, Cindy! The BIG negative of the room was the internet service, or lack of. Yes, you do have internet service. However, what is provided at no charge is so slow, it was basically useless. When trying to open emails, I thought I was back in the early days of AOL, using a modem. I eventually just gave up trying to read my emails and resorted to just using my phone to read any emails that required my attention. You could purchase faster internet for $8/day. However, I refused, out of principal, to pay an additional fee for "working" internet when internet service is advertised as being provided. Shanty Creek should be ashamed of themselves, and I will never stay at this unless this facility again unless the internet situation is resolved. I do not know what the internet situation is at the other Shanty Creek properties."

"We had a great stay at Thayer lake cabin! It is so charming and cozy. It had plenty of space for relaxing and lounging both inside and outdoors. The cabin is close to public access points to Torch Lake and close to the cute shops in Alden. It is secluded yet close enough to attractions. Alden ball park beach access was great for taking a dip in the lake before we checked in and we enjoyed the nature area down the street as well. The weather didn’t cooperate for a lake day so we got pizza from Village Market and had a fun night in. Great stay!"
