"Hotel is good for short stay. It’s in the old part of the city and so is in congested area. Close to the bus station for both local and other buses. Staff is friendly and attentive."

"The most horrible hotel and the worst experience booking through Expedia, the staff do not understand English, they hang up on you, tell you that they don’t have the confirmation and ask you to pay again. Please don’t pick this place"

"Excellent stay - i booked this hotel for my parents and i highly recommend it. Location is superb, hotel is new (3 years), very clean, two restaurants are great food, the rooftop lounge is unique; hotel also helped my parents book a car for day trips which was very well managed. The owner also met my parents and made a connection. My parents enjoyed the stay and if I plan to come to Mangalore; i would book this hotel without hesitation - initially i had planned to book Taj Vivanta for parents - but found this gem as 1/4th the cost. Thank you owner Mr Shenoy for you and your team's warm hospitality - keep up the great work!"
Vivanta Mangalore Oldport Road - Formerly Known as Taj Manjarun
10/10 Excellent
"This appeared to be the most luxurious hotel in the area. We had previously stayed at A.J. Grand and found it did not have sufficient ameneties in the room and booked at Vivanta for the second night of our stay in Mangalore. Really happy we made the switch! The lobby and restaurants were upscale. Our bedroom and bathroom were clean, modern, and had everything one would expect. There was a strange odor in our hallway when we arrived, but we did not smell it again later in the day. The area around the botel is not great. It is not suitable for walking around/exploring. You'll need to take an auto if you want to get out. "
"The proximity to most places was an advantage. The breakfast was simple but fairly good. The personnel at the front desk and Lawrence were very accommodating and understanding. The room too was fairly clean, though baby cockroaches are an issue. On my second day I noticed a couple so requested the reception to get room service to clean and spray.
I was rather disappointed that the breakfast was cold the first day, but after letting the front desk know, it was good the next few days I was there. The driveway was being re-done when I was at the hotel. So I could not park on the premises. Though , there was a driver to valet park and get the vehicle for me when needed. That was good-Thank you.
Overall a good stay. Thank you!

"Clean rooms, but a bit dated. Has all the amenities (wi-fi, toiletries in bathroom etc). However the light and fan switches were not at all intuitive. We could not turn off the lights without turning off the fan and had to leave one light on the whole night.
Restuarant inside the hotel was good with a full veg menu"
"Lack of detail makes me score this down. Room smelled like urinal station so many bleach blocks dotted all over the room. Toweia threadbare. Water provided but no grass to drink it out of. No breakfast times displayed. No hot water for shaving."
