The Carriage House is located on Taconic Road, a quiet beautiful street lined with historic mansions. Stroll through charming Manchester Village on the marble sidewalks to restaurants, golf, and grand hotels including The Equinox Resort, and Reluctant Panther.
Abraham Lincoln's son Robert Todd Lincoln was the 1st person to rent this property. He stayed in the mansion (where I live) and used the Carriage House for his horses and stablemen. The wooden bar is made from the wood from his stables!
The Carriage House is an upstairs 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom free standing house.
Brand new full kitchen with stainless steel appliances -- full size fridge, oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker.
The open floor plan is great for hanging out.
The juge living room features an elegant leather couche and overstuffed leather chairs. Enormous smart TV.
The wifi is terrific. You can Zoom with a view and work remotely from Vermont.
Excellent wood paneled library with 2 twin beds. (The previous owner was involved with Blockbuster videos and his VHS tape collection awaits you!)
Small king bedroom with very comfortable new mattress.
Bathroom shower has excellent water pressure.
Use washer dryer in the mansion next door.
Hike to Equinox Pond or up Equinox Mt right from your front door!
Bring Fido. We are so dog friendly, we were on Animal Planet! (Additional $125/per dog - all breeds welcome!)
Enjoy outdoor tables and chairs, BBQ, fire pit and hammock in for enjoying the beautiful Vermont weather in summer and fall.
In the summer, the Carriage House is an ideal base for the nearby Vermont horse show.
My family has lived in Manchester for 50 years. We have owned and managed the award-winning Wilburton Inn for 38 years so we have maintenance and housekeeping should you need them. I'm happy to answer any questions at The Wilburton
We look forward to welcoming you to VT!

It's a truly charming neighborhood and a great location generally, near downtown Manchester and close to Bromley Mountain.
The Carriage House itself is great for a small group. It's quirky and rustic in a positive way. Very private, despite being on the grounds of another's home. Kitchen is relatively well equipped, if you intend to cook at home.
Melissa was responsive and helpful.
Lovely property in perfect location for Bromley ski weekend. Close to everything. Great for family with pets and friendly responsive hosts. Looking forward to our next stay
We had a wonderful stay at the Carriage House! Our dog also joined us and loved playing in the yard and exploring nearby walking trails. The Carriage House is within 5 minutes of everything you'd want to do in town and just a short drive to the ski resorts nearby. Would definitely stay again - high recommend!
We had a great time. Melissa could not have been more gracious and helpful. We arrived late, it was cold outside, she had the heat running for us so the VRBO was toasty. Well located to the best restaurants in town and the Manchester center. Beautiful hikes as well. Easy to get to Stratton for skiing. We would definitely Stay again.
This rental is amazing. You feel at home from the moment you move in. The estate that the house sits on is gorgeous. The ladies who own the house do everything to make you feel welcome. Supporting what you may need and also sharing information about events in the community in case you want to join! My husband and I (and our dogs) stayed for a month and were sad to leave/can't wait to go back!
Really enjoyed our stay here in Manchester. Comfy carriage house set away from large house. It was clean and close to town, roughly 28 mins from Stratton. Would rent here again.
The carriage house is large, very clean and so warm and welcoming. Decorated with vintage and antique pieces on the old Hollywood theme featuring Clark Gable. Tongue and groove wood paneling, hunter green, leather armchairs to sink into, full size old wood bar and tin ceilings with a cozy fireplace and lovely bookshelf lined second bedroom Really a perfect spot for a ski getaway, and extra bonus it’s pet friendly with an expansive yard. The shops and restaurants are great. Our host Melissa catered to all our requests and even gave a special treat to our dogs. Overall great experience! 🙌🏻
Upon arrival we immediately fell in love with the location. This was our third trip to the Manchester area and the location of this property is walking distance to the pond (3/4 of a mile), great restaurants, golf, the skyline drive (worth it!) and so much more. The house is clean and comfortable. The king size bed is hotel quality for sure.
My kids loved the bar kitchen and we were able to grill outside, make pasta and rice, eggs and bacon…the kitchen has everything you need.
We had a terrific experience and would definitely return!
