August 2024 trip

4 couples were quite comfy in this spacious home. There was enough seating/chairs and a large kitchen table to accommodate us all. The additional tables behind the sofa provided a “snack bar” area as there isn’t much kitchen counter space. Although we hardly cooked, the kitchen was sufficient for our needs. The outdoor seating areas also accommodated our group and our 4 cars fit in the driveway snugly. The WiFi worked well as did the YouTube tv in the living room (don’t think we used any others). My favorites: it was clean and each bedroom had its own bathroom (one bedroom on main floor had its bathroom right next to it but you have to enter it from the living room). Check in was simple! We really enjoyed our stay and our days exploring nearby areas. Luhr’s boat rental was awesome and pontooning for a day on Torch Lake was the highlight of our time together!

Maple Ridge Cabins 😁

Maple Ridge Cabins we will be back! The house was perfect for our large ATV group. Easy access to the trail system, the house was clean, the hosts were very informative and helpful giving us information for festivals, restaurants and things to do. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Great Home

Very large home, layout is very flexible and can accommodate a large group. Well maintained, clean, and many accommodations. I think my favorite is the cozy fireplace with the excellent view!

Great place for a guys weekend!

We had a great time, the property was perfect for a big group of guys and the location was also great! We were twenty minutes from great golf and then able to quickly shoot over to Torch Lake as well. Having so many beds was the game changer for us!

Great stay and great management

The cabin was great-lots of room and well set up. We had some issues with getting it booked and the manager really hung in there and helped us get it done. The location is remote but also just 1 1/2 miles from a grocery store so you have a lot of privacy and quiet but can get a pizza for dinner. We're planning on going back next year.

Fall color UTV rides

2nd year up to Maple Ridge Cabins. 3 couples, each with a UTV 2-3 days of riding Kalkaska trails, seasonal roads and secondary roads. Beautiful colors. See you next year!

Torch Lake

Needs some updates, a couple of odd things, in the kitchen. There are a few missing shingles on the roof, someone may want to look at that. The upstairs bedroom would be nice if there were a chair or bench, not bean bags, a shade is missing off one of the windows in that room.

Winter getaway!

The property was great for a large family! There was plenty of space for all of us. We took a shower on the first night there and the hot water ran out within minutes. We called the property manager and they came out immediately and fixed it. I would suggest another couch on the back wall in the living room instead of the chair, as a few of us were not able to get comfy while watching tv (football) in the evenings. Other than that, it was very clean, was exactly what we needed, and plenty of supplies in the kitchen for us to cook! It had snowed quite a bit while we were there and someone was out to plow each day that it snowed! Make sure you have 4-wheel drive if you go there in the winter months. You will need it!

Mancelona Stay

This place had a lot of space and plenty of bathrooms for our summer family get-together. We did need air mattresses to sleep everyone comfortably. Be advised that light sleepers will have more difficulty sleeping on the bottom floor, as just walking on the main floor can be quite loud for those below. Safety rails for the bunk beds would be a great addition so kids could sleep on the top bunk. The rails located under the beds do not actually fit on the beds. I wonder if a noise reducing curtain could possibly be added upstairs to help reduce noise from the living room, though that's really only an issue if you have people staying up later and visiting. If you are traveling with infants and toddlers, be advised that the cleaning chemicals under the sink are behind a curtain, not a cabinet door and not locked. There is a high shelf by the side door that they can be moved to so they are out of reach, which is what we did for our stay and that worked good for us. We did enjoy our stay and had a great time. We were able to travel to different areas quite easily and quick access to a grocery store.

This property was exactly what we needed. Some of our family stayed at campground across the street which made it easy to see each other. It was quiet, felt safe, and very clean. The host was very communicable and even accommodated a last minute change in date. One thing that needs to be updated is the pictures online!

This property is perfect for larger families. 3 levels makes it ideal for a family to be together while not being on top of each other. Skiing is 15 minutes away.

Amazing golf trip!

We stayed here with 14 adults and everyone had a bed. House is fitted with all your needs. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, pans, bowls, utensils, etc. Check in was amazingly easy and the owner was easy to contact for the one issue we encountered. This would be a great place for families on a ski trip or a group of friends looking for a place up north to hang out.

Perfect for Golf Trips

Cabin was better than we initially thought. The pictures make the property look tiny. Much more open. Cabin was clean and tidy. Away from other homes so no issue with noise. Cabin is abt 35 minutes from Treetops Golf Resort and 20 minutes to Torch Lake.

Our family enjoyed our stay!

This was our first time to the area. Everyone liked the cabin. We appreciated the 4 full baths for the 3 families plus teens that stayed. Although we didn’t get to use it, we liked the option to swim and use their other amenities at the Starlight campground across the street. Lots of parking space, quiet (I was worried the event center and other cabins would make the place loud and busy but that was not a problem at all), nice little fire pit, and clean! Our family would stay again.
