We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was perfect for the 4 of us. The kids absolutely loved fishing in the pond behind the cabin and the cave and waterfall on property!
What’s not to love? The cabin was perfect. We had everything we needed to make our stay absolutely wonderful and relaxing. There is plenty to do on the property itself and the owners are so gracious and kind. Will definitely stay again and make this our family getaway destination.
We stayed at this location in early May 2025. This cabin was well stocked with necessary items. The host was very responsive, friendly, and committed to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. I would recommend stocking up on groceries when coming to the cabin because there is not much around the cabin as restaurants or grocery stores go. My family and I loved this location , the cabin and the grounds. I would recommend this location 10/10 for a family going to mammoth cave.
We had a great stay at these cabins during our visit to Mammoth Cave. The location was peaceful, scenic, and far enough away from the usual touristy chaos. It felt like a real getaway. At the same time, it was still super easy to get to Mammoth Cave and other nearby spots. The cabins were comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, nature-filled escape
We chose this location for our Fall break as it offered a little bit of everything we are interested in. Fishing, hiking (waterfall, cave and semi-dry riverbed were a blast!), golf nearby, as well as horse riding.
The property was just as described, clean, and perfect for our fall break. There are enough reataurants nearby offering a good meal, and we cooked at home a few nights. We definitely didn’t want to leave when our time was up. The hosts are incredibly helpful and communicative. Thanks for letting us stay!
We stayed in cabin 2 which is not on the main lake, however, we loved it. The cabin was extremely clean and well organized. The back porch looked over the small pond which was stocked with fish. We spent a few days there.
Our main reason for staying was our
Mammoth Cave destination. We love to hike and the MC National Park was great. However, this property was too. The three of us and our dogs enjoyed the hike to the cave, waterfall and troll bridge. We fished in the pond behind our cabin every day and had a lot of fun catching bluegill, bass and catfish. We went to the main lake and used the kayaks. The self service functionality was easy. We had brought groceries with us and cooked every night in the cabin and grilled using the charcoal grill. If you are going to stay there realize that there aren’t restaurants and stores within 20 min. A lot of places including markets are not open Sun-Tues. However, you can go to the DG Market- it takes about 15 min to get there. Loved everything about the stay and would go back.
We stayed two nights and had an absolute blast! We caught catfish in the pond and enjoyed all the pretty views of the surrounding property. The cabin was clean and conveniently located to our activities. Thank you for a great time!
Great cabin to unwind and unplug from the day to day life. Our kids loved being outside (ages 5 & 3) and having s’mores by the fire nightly. Very clean, had everything we needed and great communication.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It has some great fishing ponds right behind the property and we could even see cows grazing behind the ponds! The owners were very quick to respond to any questions. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay.
We loved staying in the cabin!!! Our family enjoyed our time fishing in the pond, hiking the near by trail, fishing in the larger pond, playing on the swing set, having a fire at night and drinking coffee on the back deck in the mornings! This cabin was by far the cleanest rental we have stayed in and we have stayed in a lot of places! All 5 of us had enough room. We loved the little cave hike near the place and caught a lot of fish! The hosts were very responsive and accommodating when the Kerig was not working. The cabin is about 40 mins from mammoth cave but so nice to be out in the country. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you
So relaxing, deer came to within 30 feet of the cabin which the kids absolutely loved. The stocked ponds did not disappoint!!!!! Just what we needed. We went to the caverns since they were so close. Awesome stay!!!

Quiet charming cabin
All around Excellent! It’s a small space but CLEAN and BEAUTIFUL and perfectly maintained. Our family of 5 was very comfortable for 2 Nights. Our kids loved walk around the pond and talking to the cows. The cave and waterfall were a perfect place to play before our cabin was ready. Nolin lake state park was also wonderful. A short drive to mammoth cave where we spent one of our days. We would love to come and stay again!

Quiet and very nice
We take an annual family vacation with our adult children, spouses and grandchildren. The cabins are very nice. Kids toys, kayaks and small bass boats are a great touch! Everyone loved being able to walk to the cave and explore. Kids had a blast catching fish off the dock and swimming.
If you plan to visit—make sure you stock up before you get there— groceries etc a bit of a drive away and it’s a dry county.

Relaxing
It was awesome. Deer came up within 30 foot of the cabin which the kids loved, we hiked on the property, so pretty. The stocked ponds were unbelievable. Well kept and clean. Just beautiful. No problems at all. Would recommend to anyone!!!!
Everything was great, the place has a spectacular layout. The fishing pond was fun and we caught catfish which the kids loved. Thank you for leaving grilling supplies (charcoal, lighter fluid, matches). We grilled both nights we stayed there. Plenty of wildlife surrounding the property which the kids loved. The property is very close to horse riding adventures which I highly recommend. Note of caution for mammoth cave tourists: check to see if ferry service is running. If not, the drive to the cave is substantially longer to get around to the property. Thanks for a great stay!
Overall great experience. Great location close to Mammoth Cave National Park, quiet and beautiful property. Views of the pond and sunsets were great. Cabin was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. There were a few minor things that could have been better - neither of the bedroom doors closed fully and no AC unit in the one room. Washer and dryer in the bedroom wasn’t ideal (though was stated in the listing), didn’t really bother us until the middle of the night when the end of cycle alarm kept sounding. If you come in the summer be prepared with bug spray. To be expected near the pond though and would not keep us from staying there again.
I was on the hunt for a nice, clean and updated cabin for our 2 night stay to visit mammoth cave and this cabin exceeded my expectations. Communicating with the owners was seamless. I have rented a lot from Vrbo and the keyless entry locks on this cabin were by far the nicest and easiest to use. The cabin is small but fit our family of five just fine. We had everything we needed. The beds were comfy, pillows and towels were wonderful. Plenty of pillows and towels too! We cooked and the appliance met our needs perfectly. Our kids loved running around the small pound and seeing cows in the neighboring fields. The deck was lovely to sit on and just be in peace and quiet. Nolin lake is very close and we spent our first day tossing football on the beach and hiking. The hiking trail to the waterfall and cave on the cabin property was excellent and my kids explored forever and wanted to go back! We drove to mammoth cave the second day. It’s a about 40-45 minutes and we had to go a longer way around as the ferry was closed. This didn’t both us one bit and I would stay here to visit mammoth cave again. We stopped at 2 dollar generals for things we forgot and they had them. We drove into Leichtfield and had dinner one night which was about 30 minutes away. Everything was perfect and we would stay here again. The kids are already asking when we can come back!

Love this place!
Our family of four had a wonderful time at Mammoth Cave Vacation Rentals. The cabin was the perfect size for us. We loved sitting out on the porch to watch the sunsets. We also enjoyed fishing at the pond in front of our cabin. The hiking trail was awesome. We even ran into a deer on the trail. The pictures do not do justice on how beautiful the cave area is. The waterfall was dry when we were there, but we had the best time climbing and exploring around the cave. The kids absolutely loved it. We also had a group of turkeys pass by our cabin every morning that we were there. We enjoyed cave tours and more hiking trails at Mammoth Cave National Park. We also visited the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green and Kentucky Down Under. We had the best time and hated to leave. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be staying with Mammoth Cave Cabin Rentals again.
This was a great and amazing cabin and property for a long weekend stay. We loved the size of the back porch and be able to sit out and watch the sunrise and sunset over the rolling hills and cows talking to us. The amount of activities to do on the property was like a small little resort with all the kayaks, boats, floats and swimming in the lake. We will definitely be looking to come back next year.
