Unless it was in turbo fine print, there was no mention of the fact that half this hotel is under construction when I booked this reservation. Current entrance is on the next block over from where any GPS brings you, & to check in, after passing a front desk & staff, you have to head up to the 7th floor where the, “lobby,” is… ? & then go back down to the 1st floor again… into the elevator again… to get to your actual floor? Because of the construction, there is no on site restaurant to grab a quick bite or coffee, nor a hotel bar for a nightcap when you return from wherever, nothing. The bathroom was pretty awful for a hotel that is so highly rated - ventilation didn’t work, plenty of rust above the mirror under the lights, sloppy paint job over previous repairs, red staining on the tiles along the edges of the room, fixtures were beat up & edges were grimy looking, & the provided shampoo / conditioner / body wash / soap felt and smelled cheap. TV didn’t work & there were so many cables behind it, plus whatever the only-by-request-fridge should be plugged in that we don’t bother trying to correct it. Staff was nearly nonexistent, front desk employee barely glanced up from whatever movies they were watching on their phones when we passed by. Pluses - front door staff - awesome. Friendly & helpful. Convenient location, & felt safe - plus it was nice & quiet on the 23rd floor at least. I would like to give this property another shot.. once construction is completed.
