One of the best service experiences I have ever had. The staff are extremely helpful with booking excursions and transportation (including complimentary shuttles to the port). The restaurant service was also top notch. The location has a beautiful view and is pretty conveniently located close to the port and Malfa. If you want to dine off the property, you can take their shuttle to the port or take a public bus to Malfa.
Staff disponibile, servizi completi, posizione speciale immersa nelle vigne, unica pecca errore sul conto ma dovuto all ingresso dei nuovi ospiti... esperienza da ripetere
We came to Capofaro on Honeymoon. It was a highlight of our trip. Beautiful property and they are only too happy to be helpful with plans for your time in Salina.
We booked a suite but added an extra night and stayed in a standard room for that night. Honestly - given that all the rooms have a little terrace with a view and are generally “simple” in style, I don’t think we would spend the extra money for a suite next time- the standard room was as nice and significantly less expensive.
We ate at the restaurant a number of times. Some things are expensive (garden green salad is about $20) but the food was delicious and service attentive. We loved the wine selections and the sommeliers were incredibly helpful.
The breakfast has a nice selection but looks like cooked eggs (omelette or scrambled) are an extra charge.
They have a paddle tennis court, but due to noise don’t allow you to play before 9:30am. Breakfast finished at 10:30 and the days are very hot so we didn’t end up playing unfortunately.
All in all- we loved Capofaro and Salina.
The service is indescribably impeccable. From the moment that we arrived, the general manager, Margherita, introduced herself personally to us. She is a fabulous host and a stellar manager. Her staff always is attentive, but never cloying. While the bedroom could be a bit bigger, the bathroom is perfectly sized and the shower is a work of art. We stayed for three days, and each day seemed more extraordinary than the one before.
Situated in a vineyard faces Stromboli, Capofaro has its own Michelin worthy restaurant (70% of the veggie served is sourced from its own garden), produces its own wine (a must try), has attentive and friendly staff, and even has an operating lighthouse on site. Hotel is at a remote location, but they provide complimentary taxi from and to the port as well as daily shuttles. I do wished my room was bigger, but with its amazing outdoor space, and so much to see on Aeolian islands, it’s unlikely you’ll stay in your room much. Capofaro is one of the best property I have stayed in, and I highly recommend it.
The whole experience was great. The resort was excellent and the service phenomenal and so very helpful. We didn't have very good weather so the staff were very helpful in arranging other activities for us such as wine tasting to massages to even organising our ferry tickets. They even organised a rental car at our behest. The staff were very attentive and the food in the restaurant was also very good- although a few more of 'simple' food choices would have also been very nice. The breakfast buffet was very nice. All in all would definitely visit again
This is an absolutely beautiful setting. We unfortunately had some exceptionally windy weather so didn't get to use the beach as we had hoped. But the pool was lovely. The room was also lovely, but try to stay down past the restaurants. That's where the really good views are. As for the service, most of it was amazing. We did the wine tasting, which was awesome. The lunch at the pool was lovely. But on our first day we had one of the worst service experiences I've ever had at a hotel of this caliber. The server brought me a gin martini instead of vodka and didn't even tell me. I asked him if it was gin and he said yes because they didn't have vodka. I told him I didn't drink gin and asked for a glass of wine and then he brought me a vodka martini! No explanation and the whole ordeal took 45 minutes. We also ordered a cheese plate that took an hour. I wouldn't recommend having a third person in the room on the couch that turns into a bed. It is on a concrete slab, which is very lovely from a design perspective, but awful for sleeping. The rest of the service was good, but I left two special books that I purchased in my room and have called the hotel twice and they promised to call me back, but they haven't. So that's kind of a bummer way to end a stay.
Property was spectacular (the views!). However, the rooms were very minimalist and bathroom was very small. The beds were also not as comfortable as I had hoped of a resort of this caliber. We had dinner at the restaurant and although the food was very tasty, we left starving and $200 poorer. It was the only meal on our trip to Italy that we left hungry from! The breakfast was also less impressive than what was expected of a 5 star resort. We rented their yacht with skipper for a day and although the experience was wonderful in many ways, the boat itself was a renovated fishing boat! Definitely not what we had expected!
Only complaint is the food options and prices. I appreciate that its an award winning chef but more diversity and simpler options would be great.
Beds very hard. Not comfortable.
Stayed two nights when hotel gad deep discount. Whitewashed rooms with huge patio overlooking vineyards. Enjoyed big pool and relaxing outside. Downside is that breakfast 25 euros pp and dinner very expensive. Enjoyed complimentary taxi ride when we left hotel. Public bus stops by hotel. Nice lounge with books.
Fantastische lage. Sehr schöne anlage und schöne, saubere zimmer. Der aufenthalt in diesem hotel war perfekt! Das essen war auch super fein. Sehr empfehlenswert!!!
