I have stayed in better room for RM80

I would not come even i am travelling single after this. Yes I planned for budget hotel. But not with poor services. Cleanliness is out of rank. I found fresh blood stain on my bedsheet. I stayed in dark for the whole night since the bulb blowed and no one come and change it. I bet there is better room available nearby with lower cost.

"BOOKING NO. MEANS NOTHING!"

On 1/5/2015 I went to Malacca for a vacation with my family after booking online 2 days earlier (with no booking-fee) for a room in Straits Settlement Inn via Hotels.com. I already called the hotel at 2pm to reconfirm the room availability & they said not to worry they still got rooms. I arrived at 6pm (because the map you show on your web brings us to somewhere else) but unfortunately the receptionist said the hotel is ALREADY FULL! I asked them how come, I already book online; while showing him my booking confirmation no. (8102491098757). They said the no. MEANS NOTHING! (CAN YOU ACCEPT THAT??!) And there’s a system problem and suggest to go to another hotel which costs 3x higher from the room I booked (while probably "just acting" like calling the other hotel to keep us calm & go away). I was VERY UPSET with this incident. We spent our whole night searching for a hotel with reasonable price & service but just disappointed (of course, it's a holiday season). We feel VERY VERY ANGRY & DISAPPOINTED. There is no more option and then we decided just to go back to our hometown. NO VACATION FOR US ON THAT HOLIDAY SEASON. Please don't mess with your guest even though they still not yet pay the booking fee. Or just don't offer a free booking-fee option at all if you cannot fulfil your promise to your guests. FYI this is my first time using hotels.com & I hope this will be the last time too if there's no satisfying reason for hotels.com & Straits Settlement Inn to be come out with.

Worst hotel ever stayed in.

It was a lousy hotel with few amenities. No coffee making facilities although they advertised on their website. Situated in the outskirts n the Hotel.com agent told us it was within walking distance of Jonker street. The room was bare n window panes broken left empty. The toilet bowl n sink were filthy.

I paid Rm 110 per night for this 2.5 stars INN for 2 nights(26 - 28 Dec.14) as stated in the website by the INN,Balcony with City view,LCD TV with premium channels,Refrigerator with coffee/tea maker. When arrived at the INN none of the above to be found,no balcony only a normal window with rooftop view and this INN is situated in the village not in the city(3 KM to city) and transport is very poor(bus stop in front of the INN, bus arrived at unspecific time even the hotel staffs couldn't predict,not a single taxi on the road either,every time need to go out you need to call a taxi.When ask about the coffee/tea maker and Fridge the staff said not ready yet.Service is also very poor only one toilet roll and two towel provided not even a slipper, you have to go to the toilet bare footed.Finally, when I make a booking and choose currency of my country but when come to credit card payment it automatically revert to Ringgits at a very poor rate. Please avoid this INN unless you got no choice. Room Tip: Never choose this INN ALSO SEE ANOTHER COMPLAINT IN TRIP ADVISOR FORUM ABOUT THIS INN

Village stay

Hotel not easy to locate as it is hidden in the outskirt of Malacca town and inside kampung (village). Those who prefer fresh kampung atmosphere will be okay. Staff okay, not much facilities In fact I ask for a place with swimming pool and was told that this place has one. Instead turn out to be budget hotel located in a row of shops and where to build a swimming pool.
