Don't believe the pictures

The hotel is not nearly as beautiful as it is in the pictures. I am sure it was amazing 5 years ago but it has fallen into a bad state of disrepair. A colony of bats made a home inside and leave their droppings all over the hallway and in room #4 if you are lucky to get that one. Room #1 smelled of raw sewage. However, the wifi is blazing fast and works all over the property and beach. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. I just wish the owners would invest a little in repairs and clean out the bats.

hidden gem

arrived in the middle of the night after an error with a reservation at a different property. Manager met us with freshly squeezed juice and was very kind and thoughtful. Small hotel with large, very clean and comfortable rooms. Would be great for families. Great value for money!

Et utmerket hotell.

Veldig bra sted. God service. Fantastisk utsikt fra rommet. God mat. ite minus er at det ligger litt avsindig. Bading i sjøen er også litt problematisk pga stor forskjell på høy- og lavvann, men poolen i hagen var bra.

Paradis!

Vi hadde et fantastisk opphold her i 5 dager. Meget god beliggenhet, helt usjenert med utsikt utover havet. Fantastisk flott rom. Meget hyggelig betjening. God mat, god service. Dette er stedet hvis man virkelig vil slappe av i luksuriøse omgivelser. Anbefales på det sterkeste. Mye for pengene.

Local exclusivo, tranquilo, isolado, romântico.

O local é um tanto isolado, o que compensa pela exclusividade, ou seja, é um bom local para gozar de um ambiente calmo e sem muitos olhos. A praia é pequena, mas o hotel fornece transporte até praia próxima em alguns dias da semana, o que permite explorar mais a ilha. O hotel pode providenciar serviços complementares, como passeios, táxis, bicicletas, por uma taxa, que achamos caro, mas não vemos muitas variações de preço na ilha. Tivemos um problema no nosso quarto, o que foi profanamente resolvido pela supervisora no local, que fez de tudo para ficarmos satisfeitos, postura essa que se reflete nos funcionários, fizeram de tudo para ficarmos satisfeitos a todo momento.

Gepflegte Anlage mit großem Erholungswert

Wir waren sieben Tage im Hotel und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Anlage ist gepflegt mit toller Ausstattung. Das Zimmer war luxuriös und wurde schon zu unserer Ankunft liebevoll mit Blumen geschmückt. Das Essen ist abwechslungsreich und lecker und vom Preis fair und nicht überteuert. Das Personal kümmert sich um alle Belange und ist angenehm zurückhaltend. Zusätzlich hatten sie uns zum Abschluss einen "Honeymoon- Kuchen" gebacken und mit uns gefeiert. Vielen Dank noch einmal an das ganze Team.

Seuls au monde

Bel hôtel dans un cadre magnifique mais très isolé (il faut manger au restaurant de l'hôtel ou marcher 20 minutes dans le second hôtel de la ville). Le personnel est très accueillant mais grosse déception pour le patron qui est souriant et accueillant seulement quand vous passez par lui pour les excursions et taxis (il multiplie les tarifs par deux par rapport aux prix moyens).

Hotellet har personal dom verkligen bryr sig om sina gäster och ser till att besöket verkligen blir en minnesvärt. Det ligger avsides och man kan verkligen koppla av. Vill man ha party och nattliv är det fel ställe men för den som verkligen vill bli ompysslad av personalens service ska söka sig hit

casa stupenda dove il personale ti coccola

questa struttura ha pochissime camere non ha nulla del classico albergone sembra di essere in una casa privata. Il cuoco è il migliore della zona e il personale ti vizia. Ospiti vengono da tutto il mondo, pochissimi Italiani. La piscina è piccola ma in una la posizione ideale per godere della vista spettacolare sull'oceano.

Excellent Quite Peaceful Hotel

Excellent Hotel away from the busy city Stone Town.Theres lots to do nearby but that's tours and stuff.Quite far from airport.No nearby ATM or Money exchange so better to get money at airport or town before arriving here.Everything is in dollars so it's convenient.Rooms are clean.Pool Area is excellent.Theres a beach not really for swimming but excellent for sunrise.You can walk further in during low tide and see snorkel.Downside the menu is limited so if you don't like wat you eat you don't have much of a choice fortunately we did enjoy our meals.Last but not least the customer service from all staff Mr Baraka the manager and the other workers are very friendly,helpful and accommodating. Cannot thank Amina more for playing with our baby and making her feel at home.Overall Excellent Hotel for families.

Absolute Erholung in schönem Hotel

Das Hotel " Villa Fleur de Lys " befindet sich zwar etwas außerhalb, Wodurch Aktivitäten nur mit einem Fahrer möglich sind. Es werden aber zahlreiche Aktivitäten direkt im Hotel angeboten: Spice Tour, Delfine beobachten, Scnorcheln etc. Der Strand befindet sich direkt am Hotel ist aber nicht so schön wie in anderen Orten in Zanzibar. Das Hotel an sich ist aber spitze! Das Essen der Service die Zimmer und der Außenbereich mit Pool sind sehr schön. Zudem bietet das hotelnauch eikiges für Kinder und ist mit Spielzeug und Fernseh/Spielezimmer ausgestattet. Wenn man ein paar Tage absolute Erholung möchte, dann ist dieses Hotel ein absoluter Tipp!

Paradise has been found!

This place is heaven on earth! When you wake up to the view over the Indian Ocean in the morning and watching the sunrise, you feel like the happiest person on earth. The sky is FULL of stars in the night and it is the most beautiful night sky I have ever seen. The rooms are amazing, the hotel staff is SO nice, talkative and friendly. And the food is fantastic! The African dishes as well as the "European/American" dishes - I enjoyed every meal I had there and looked forward to it every day. I want to thank everyone at Villa Fleur de Lys for making my stay the perfect ending of my volunteering months in Tanzania. I have never felt so much at peace and so calm and relaxed. This place is paradise - you won't find anything better on Zanzibar.

Fantastisk hotel med et dejligt personale

Villa Fleur de Lys er helt fantastisk! Ikke nok med at der er en lækker udsigt fra alle værelser, er maden rigtig lækker og personalet over al forventning. Da jeg, desværre, måtte en tur på sygehuset hjalp de os både med oversættelse, transport, afhentning af medicin osv. Max og hans kone, Baraka samt pigerne er enormt gæstfrie og venlige.

Very nice secluded place on the beach.

It's not what I expected, but it was a nice experience, which I enjoyed very much, specially the unique hotel setup and the homey environment and the friendly staff, even though it was not easy to walk around and the beach is not always accessible.

Herrlicher Relaxaufenthalt

Es war ein super Aufenthalt in der Villa Fleur de Lys. Das ganze Team hat sich super um uns gekümmert. Ein paar Highlights von uns: tolles Haus, super geräumige Zimmer, hoher Standard (Inventar etc.), Schnorchelausrüstung vorhanden, super Blick von allen Zimmern aufs Meer, Pool sauber und gepflegt, jeder findet eine Liege im Schatten, tolle Tipps vom Manager Pascal. Unsere Empfehlung: ein Auto mieten (Orga über Hotel), damit ist man unabhängiger und sieht auch mal was anderes. Unbedingt zum Stand von Paje fahren. Man kann übrigens in alle Hotelanlagen reinfahren und auch dort zum Strand gehen. Kleines Manko: wer mehr erleben will, muss sich im Klaren sein, dass das Hotel sehr abgeschieden liegt und man schon sehr an die Villa gebunden ist (Transfer kann natürlich auch immer gebucht werden - ist aber nicht so günstig). Für uns war das ok, da wir das wussten und wollten. Das Essen im Hotel ist gut (Frühstück top). Das Abendessen ist für die Qualität etwas zu teuer (eher europäisch). Auswahl ist aber gut und abwechslungsreich. Tipp: extra Wünsche werden aber - soweit machbar - gern erfüllt. Man muss nur konkret fragen!! Von uns auf jeden Fall beide Daumen hoch und wir möchten gern wiederkommen. Danke an das ganze Hotelteam für die tolle Umsorgung.

The stay here was absolutely great. The roomies stayed was very comfortable which I have never felt before. The all staff hospitality was quite nice, such as manager, house keepers, guide and driver. I really thank them. Only one thing I felt unsatisfied was food. It was not too bad also not very good. Except that everything's perfect. I want to come back again. Thank you very much.
