Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Maidla?
The best area to stay in Maidla is within the Maidla Estate itself, offering a truly unique and secluded experience.

The Maidla Estate is a private property centred around the historic Maidla Manor House. Accommodation is provided in architect-designed, individual forest villas and suites, each offering privacy and comfort amidst nature. The estate is located in the Estonian countryside, providing a quiet escape from city life. Its primary feature is the integration of high-quality accommodation with the surrounding natural landscape, often featuring large windows that bring the outdoors in.

This destination is particularly well-suited for couples seeking a romantic and tranquil retreat. The individual villas offer complete privacy, often featuring private saunas or hot tubs and views of the forest or bog. Guests can enjoy activities like hiking on nearby nature trails, canoeing, or simply relaxing in their private setting. The estate also typically includes a high-end restaurant, providing convenient and exceptional dining experiences without needing to leave the property.
When is the best time to go to Maidla?
The best time to go to Maidla is during the summer months, from June to August, when you'll experience the most pleasant weather and the longest daylight hours.

During these months, temperatures are generally warm and comfortable, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C, making it ideal for enjoying the outdoor activities and natural beauty of the Maidla area. Estonia also experiences its "white nights" in summer, with extended daylight that can last well into the late evening, offering more time for exploration and relaxation.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will find the summer particularly appealing. The long, bright evenings are superb for leisurely strolls around the Maidla manor grounds, enjoying outdoor dining, or simply relaxing by the lake. The opportunity to witness the soft, prolonged sunsets adds to the romantic ambiance.

For travellers seeking a tranquil retreat, the summer months also offer the best conditions for enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
