  • Welcome to the Jefferson Off Main home. We are pleased to offer a spacious, historic home in the heart of downtown Madison. This 1900 historic house offers 4 bedrooms and is perfect for families, or groups. The Jefferson Off Main has 3 full bathrooms and 3 king size beds for your comfort. The 4th bedroom offers a double size bed as well. Full Cental air to keep you cool in the summer and 3 electric fireplaces to keep you warm during the colder months. But the best part about the house is how close we are to Main St. You won't have to drive to get to shopping and dining.

Amazing place and location

Can't say enough about this place. Clean, stocked, spacious, everything functions as designed, clean, gorgeous, convenient location. One of the nicest rentals I've stayed.

Grandparents 80th Birthday Party

We had a great time. The house was super spacious and clean and perfect for our family of 4. We were walking distance from restaurants and shops and the neighborhood was charming. We will definitely come back!

Beautiful home

The property is beautiful, clean and there is a welcome book to help you along. There is also a welcome book you can share your experiences which makes it really nice because you can read the memories and places others have enjoyed. It is close to the road but there is parking on the side street and the owner lets you know it is best to park there, parking was not an issue. The beds, bedding and pillows were really comfortable. We Love Madison and look forward to trying new places next time and visit some we already have. The owner is very responsive. This was a wonderful experience!!!

Girls getaway

The house had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable (upstairs bedrooms could have used small lamps). We were happy to have a downstairs bathroom, but the shower needs a shelf for our products. The kitchen was beautiful and had everything we needed. The living room was very nice & comfy, but not enough seating for 7 of us. Overall, we loved the house and would recommend it to others. It sits on a high-traffic street, so if youre a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.

Our Wedding Weekend

We came to Madison for our Wedding. We chose to stay at Jefferson Off Main because the location was downtown, was large enough for 7 people and it allowed dogs. The house was huge, which gave us the room to spread out and get last minute details situated. Everything was very clean and it felt like home from the minute we got there. The kitchen was fully equipped and we took full advantage of for a post wedding brunch. There were a couple Frosty Paw treats in the freezer for the dog, which our dog loved since it was a very hot weekend. The bedrooms up front were a little noisy by the main road, however, everyone was exhausted from the festivities we didn't even realize it at night. This was the perfect place for our family to stay at for our Wedding Weekend!

Girls Weekend

The property was conveniently located near Main Street. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. The kitchen and living room were smaller than they appeared in the photos. The road outside was very busy and if you need quiet to sleep, the road traffic could be a problem. The major issue was the cleanliness. There were stains on a bed comforter and hairs in the sheets. My sister had to clean the shower before it could be used. There were personal shower items left by previous renter. The floors appeared not to have been swept. We loved Madison and plan to visit again but we have found another house to rent next time.

Thanksgiving Trip

The location of this house was perfect. We walked all over the town, along the river and to historic sites. The house is charming, it is built in 1900 but updated with modern bathrooms. It would be better suited to 6 adults as one bedroom is very small and the general bathroom is downstairs. The bathrooms attached to bedrooms are large with space but the general bathroom shared by 2 bedrooms is small. Due to the age of the house, there is limited closets and a coat rack/ wall hooks would be helpful. The mattresses were very comfortable and plenty of towels and linens. The kitchen has a nice sized table and modern appliances. It is stocked better than other VRBO's that we've used with snacks and Keurig coffee. There are extra's like a blender and waffle maker. The living room space is small but cozy and we moved n some extra chairs from the bedrooms. A lamp would be nice in the living room instead of having the bright overhead light on all the time. There is a large tv with all the features we needed to watch college football. And the wall mounted gas heater with a fire place "picture" is nice. We had our dog with us and the yard was great, it was fenced in so we could let her off the leash and keep and eye on her. We had a fun Thanksgiving buffet at Clifty Falls Inn and would like to come back sometime in the summer!

Great walkable property! Madison was a great town to visit and the whole group enjoyed their stay at this property. Having three bathrooms was essential for our group. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Both types of coffee makers and pods provided. Host was responsive when I had questions. 5 star stay!

Mike was a wonderful host. He responded quickly to my request. The information regarding check-in and check out was great. The only negatives we had were Jefferson Street is a very, very busy street. He did tell us that and for us to park on Fourth Street. Parking on fourth Street was great. There was always plenty of places to park! One other negative was that there was no railings at doors going into the house. It makes it a little difficult with the steps. The house was great. It was big and clean! The bathrooms were nice and totally met our needs.

Great for a girls trip

We enjoyed having our own rooms and bathrooms. The street noise was a little rough but the sound machines that are provided really helped.
