We have been awarded "Best Place to Stay in Madison" along with multiple other awards!

This historic building was originally one of the city’s horse stables and has recently been converted into apartments. The new furnishings, bathrooms, luxury linens, towel warmer and a complete kitchen will be appreciated yet the historic charm is blended within.

This fun river town will remind you of years gone by. Come see why Ladie’s Home Journal awarded Madison “ prettiest small town in the midwest”. Chicago Tribune says it’s “the best preserved midwest town".

And, USA TODAY awarded Madison as the BEST SMALL TOWN in the Midwest! Our building was also featured in 3 page article in the Louisville Courier Journal.

This circa 1860 historic building originally was one of the city’s main stables. It’s now a blend of barnwood contemporary and vintage charm with so many amenities!

New renovations, large gathering area and luxury furnishings will leave you wanting to stay longer. Come see why guests say they don’t want to leave!!

This unit is on the main floor with a very easy entry There is also a laundry area. We provide baby and children supplies as well as portable chairs for your use during music festivals and other festivities. We are located at the start of the festivals, right on Broadway Street! The seasonal farmer's market is just across the street on Saturday mornings.

We will also send you a list of recommendations and venues for live music before your arrival.

You will see that we have the BEST downtown location!

We are centrally located in the best part of downtown and in walking distance to most places.

Our Livery Loft apartment is another award winning unit and can sleep 5 more guests. It is located directly above Stablemaster's Quarters. We will soon have another unit available so we can then sleep up to 13 guests.

You will be pleasantly surprised by all the amenities we provide and soon see why our guests often say we are their "best vacation rental experience".

It is the perfect place to stay. Located just between the river and the main street. The hosts were so gracious. They are truly a gift to Madison, IN We knew right away that if we needed anything, they would be there for us.

I’m confident in my belief that Suzie is far more concerned with properly serving her guests than she is any income her property may generate. She was a phenomenal hostess, providing us a much better than home, home away from home experience. Her generosity shines by way of all the amenities and thoughtful extras she willingly provides and by way of her kind communication. She and Ron are surely as valuable of an asset to Madison, Indiana, as their location in Madison is to the guests they host. Their accommodations are top notch in cleanliness and cozy comfort, and close to nearly everything of interest. Pack your walking shoes because you can explore several sites, shops, and restaurants all within walking distance.

We had a GREAT stay. Suzie and Ron are wonderful hosts, from the beginning to the end of our stay.We were able to check in early, when we walked in, my favorite artist was playing and a dish of warm delicious cookies were on the stove waiting for us. On our last night we got a text asking us what time we wanted the home made blueberry muffins Ron was making delivered in the morning. So many nice surprises, too many to list. Highly recommend Stablemaster's Quarters, you can't go wrong.

The Stable Master’s Quarters

This place is awesome! It’s the best place to stay in Madison, IN. Well decorated and has everything you need. The host Suzie goes over and above to make sure your stay is memorable. Great location in town. We already have future dates reserved and will add more in 2025.

Amazing stay!

We had an amazing stay at Stablemaster's Quarters! Ron and Suzie went above and beyond to make our stay incredible! When we walked in there were delicious cookies waiting and some of our favorite music playing! There space is just beautiful, so cozy and comfortable! They had great suggestions for local dining and activities in their beautiful city. We were on one block from Main Street with numerous shoppes and restaurants.to enjoy! Looking forward to our next stay with them!

Perfect Weekend Getaway!

This property has everything we wanted and more! On top of the cleanliness, central location, ease of checkout, fair price, and beautiful details, the stable house was so incredibly inviting and cozy! On top of that, the hosts provided the utmost hospitality including fresh baked goods and some pantry and toiletry items available for use. Come for a great weekend away! You won’t be disappointed!

Wonderful weekend getaway

Amazing hosts! Rustic decor with interesting history. Very cozy. Hosts made us homemade cookies when we arrived and fixed us muffins the morning we left. I don’t think there’s anything they haven’t thought of that you might need. Definitely one of the nicest VRBO we’ve ever stayed at and we will definitely return. I cannot say enough great things about this weekend.

Don’t pass this place up!

We had the best stay here for our annual mom/daughter/grandson trip. Everything about the place was perfect and there were so many “extras” that made you feel so special! Our host reached out before we ever came to provide suggestions on places to eat and places to visit in Madison. She left cookies and sweet tea out upon our arrival when she found out my 11 year old was also coming. He walked around the place and had to facetime everyone at home to tell them what they were missing by not being with us. The location is great for walking to the river or to many different shops and small restaurants and coffee shops in the area. The place is amazing and we will for sure be back!

AMAZING!

This was by far one of the best places we have ever stayed. The host was amazing, perfect location and all extra little details made this stay so memorable. We were able to walk to everything downtown Madison had to offer. The host was SO very helpful with recommendations on where to eat and visit. She went above and beyond to make our stay so relaxing. And relax we did in the beautifully decorated apartment that was beyond clean and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone and look forward to staying there again!!

Beautiful and luxurious

The loft is incredible. It's beautifully redone. The amenities are top notch. It was cozy and comfortable. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. Suzie went above and beyond to make our anniversary stay there so special. I would definitely stay there again!

Extreme Hospitality

I can't say enough good things about this property and Ron & Suzie. Suzie is very communicative with guests, but not overly so. She and Ron are very friendly and are extremely hospitable. We arrived to warm cookies and a small gift. On our check-out day Suzie brought us warm muffins. The property smelled amazing, it was very clean and stocked with all the comforts of home. It's within walking distance of everything. I will definitely be staying here any time I'm in Madison.

Best birthday trip ever!

3 elder relatives celebrating 2 birthdays selected the stablemasters quarters in Madison because we like historic structures. The location is ideal because we could walk to almost everything. The former stables are decorated to reflect the building’s first use as a stables in the 1860s. Our host stocked the frig with birthday cake and added happy birthday touches. throughout. A lovely and convenient and very special place to stay!

Gorgeous spot

Hands down prettiest VRBO I've ever stayed at. Location was perfect. Easy parking. Close to businesses and Lanier Mansion. A few blocks from the winery. Owner was very welcoming. We felt well taken care of. Will definitely come back!!

Amazing!

This was the best accommodations with everything you need and want. I loved it! Highly recommend it!! Extremely clean and decorated so nicely. The beds were very comfortable and kitchen had everything you need and more. The host is so sweet and goes the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay. Perfect stay, wouldn’t change a thing!!

Sisters Trip

My twin sister and I visited for a birthday trip. Looked just like in the pictures and beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils, pans, salt and pepper, etc. Suzie thought of everything I didn't know we needed or wanted...from a cute birthday banner and piece of cake to milk or cream in the fridge for coffee. Will definitely stay again! Thanks for the hospitality.

Stable Master Week

The Stable Master apartment was one of the nicest places we have stayed in. Very comfortable. Completely stocked with everything you need for your stay. We celebrated our 58th wedding anniversary there and Susie made it really special. Happy anniversary reminders inside and out. Cookies when we got there and muffins in the morning with juice. She is a very gracious host. The town of Madison is beautiful and authentic. We will be going back.

We were very impressed with the rental. Susie's communication was excellent and she gave us pointers about Madison. She went the extra mile to have birthday surprises including cake and drinks. The location was close to everthing. Enjoyed our two night trip.

Overwhelmingly Awesome!

I cannot say enough about this location and Madison. The owners have gone above and beyond to prepare for their guests stay. Well decorated and so peaceful! Suzie was the absolute best at ensuring our stay was perfect and we could not have asked for anything more. We have never stayed at a VRBO so beautiful. Madison is amazing little town that had a ton of things to do. We look forward to making this location a frequent visit.

Charming Getaway at Stable Masters Quarters

Our stay at Stable Masters Quarters was truly delightful! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with fresh baked cookies and our favorite genre of music playing, thanks to Alexa. Ron’s homemade salsa and the bag of chips were a wonderful touch. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the Christmas decor added a beautiful festive charm to the place. Meeting Suzie and Ron was a pleasure—they are such kind souls. Suzie’s fresh muffins on our departure date were the perfect send-off. We highly recommend Stable Masters Quarters for a cozy and welcoming stay!

5 Star Stay in Madison

We spent 6 lovely nights at the Stablemaster's Quarters. Suzie has meticulously arranged a haven of rest in an old livery stable. Her design and decoration of the space shows a well thought out plan for her guest relaxation and rest. Little details like fresh baked cookies and muffins, fresh milk or creamer for coffee, umbrellas (which we needed) cozy throws for the couch and fresh flowers enhanced our stay. Communication is excellent and informative. We hope to return soon!
