Perfect Lake House
We had a wonderful time at this house. The location is quiet and very relaxing. The house was just as described - plenty of towels and kitchen equipment to eat in a few nights. This is 20 minutes to everything in Macon. The furniture was somewhat dated, but the beds were comfortable and the linens were clean and of quality standard. I would recommend staying here if you visit Macon.

Wonderful stay!!
We came to Macon to enjoy the Cherry Blossom Festival and had a wonderful time. The festival, parade and festivities were all fun and the cherry trees with their beautiful blossoms were amazing!! Our accommodations were lovely and as pictured and described. We didn't lack for anything. We enjoyed spending time on the back deck that overlooked the beautiful backyard with lake view. The owner was very quick to respond to any inquiry before our stay and was most accommodating!! Would definitely recommend and would stay again if back in the area. Many thanks for a wonderful time!

Great family home!
We had a great stay at the lake house! It was very spacious and quite clean! The house was well equipped with linens, and anything you might need in the kitchen. The master bathroom floor in the water closet could use some repairs, but other than that everything was great! Thank you!

This is our third stay at the Lake House. It is a very clean and comfortable place for our family to gather for the holidays. The lake view is beautiful and the porch in the back is a relaxing place to hang out and reconnect with nature and each other. Home away from home ❤️
This place was comfortable, and home feeling. I was able to celebrate my anniversary with my husband, as a widow.. on the back porch. Watching the sunrise over the water, I was able to talk to him in prayer. This home was big enough, while still being cozy, for all of my immediate family and than some. My mom stayed with us here. She is 91, and I emphysema which limits both of us from getting around. I am 100% thankful we found this home as it was smooth enough for us to get around inside and out. Many lake houses are covered in steps, but this home had the least by far. Thankfully the ground was smooth enough for us to bring our electric scooters that got us from the boat dock and back. We did have an issue with ants, but my son is an exterminator and was able to do a couple sprays which helped a lot. The only issue I would suggest is a better detailed cleaning system.

Girls' Weekend
Rented the house for a girls' weekend during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The weather was a little bit cool, but we enjoyed sitting on the back porch and taking in the beautiful lake views, while sipping our morning coffee.

The house and property shows well; however, the house is in need of repair to remove damp and stale order, ands insects. The house lacked detailed cleaning in shower, dingy and not vacuum carpet, pots and pans surfaces not fit to use, grill not clean, leaky roof around fire place.

I’m sorry you did not enjoy your stay at the Cottage. If you had contacted me I would done whatever needed to make you happy. This is the worst/lowest rating I’ve ever received and I’m very surprised by it. The Cottage can retain some mild odor from previous guests cooking. The humidity level in the Cottage is appropriate. So, I’m not sure what you mean by damp. The bathrooms are cleaned with soap scum remover and bleach water after each stay. I regularly spray the house for bugs and go under the house to spray as well. Like any house you may see an occasional bug. The carpets are vacuumed after each guest and a spot steam cleaner used as needed. I agree the cookware needed replacing and I have done so. It is always put away when preparing the house for next guests and I hadn’t noticed it was needed. Thanks for letting me know. There are brushes located with the grill for cleaning it. The chimney did have a leak that would get to the sheetrock during hard rains. I had a highly reputable roofing contractor rebuild the cricket and flashing around the chimney within past month before your stay. The sheetrock around chimney does need to be fixed after I’m confident the leak is fixed. Again, I’m sorry your stay didn’t meet your expectation and thank you for your feedback.

Great Lake side getaway!

This is my second time staying at this amazing place. I met John and he was a wonderful person. My family and I were very comfortable. I really enjoyed my mornings on the porch drinking my coffee and the kids loved fishing. I wish I could but this property.

Location was great, but the big issue was the terrible pet urine odor in some rooms.
Pet odor was the main negative and the property just wasn’t very clean. We found a ziplock bad of molded cake in the pantry!There was also a lack of glasses and containers.

Thank you for the feedback. I can assure you there has been no pet urine in the Cottage. I don’t allow any pets at the Cottage. I clean myself and use a very effective steam cleaner on any spots. I would see pet urine if there were any and there has been none. Some guests do cook in the full kitchen. There can be some faint smell from the cooking. I will pay more attention to the pantry for any food left by guests. The Cottage is thoroughly cleaned between guests kitchen/baths completely cleaned with bleach, everything dusted, vacuum/steam clean floors as needed. Most guests are very complimentary on how clean the Cottage is and I take pride in leaving it clean. Not sure why you mention glasses with the cabinet on right of fridge full of them. I assume you are talking about plastic food containers and I will leave some more at the Cottage. Thx John

Cozy country home
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The host was responsive, check in was very easy and the view is absolutely beautiful. This is an older, country style home. Reminds me of grandma’s house. Being that it’s older, it does need a little TLC. Simple repairs, upgrades, dusting of ceiling fans & removal of the carpet. Back patio needs to be pressure washed as well. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would book this beautiful home again.

Lovely Lake Home
This was our second year renting this property. It is so peaceful, spacious and clean. Our son lives nearby and this gives us a place to be able to make special memories with our children and grandchildren over the holidays. We especially enjoy coffee on the porch in the morning. Great place!
This was probably the last vacation with our aging parents. The weather was very hot the first few days but better after that. The raised dining room area presented a problem for my mother who has mobility issues but other wise the stay was great. Just a few things that could have made it perfect. Tighter railings down the back steps of the covered deck. Screw down one board on the walkway out to the dock area which caused several of us to trip and one person fell. Also the Smokey smell from the fire place was strong in the family room. Last the faucet handles in the hall bath we’re very hard to turn for all! These are just things we noticed that would make thing perfect but we had a great time overall and would recommend your place to anyone except those with mobility uses due to stairs and elevated dining area. Thanks for a great experience. We kayaked and fished quick a bit and really enjoy the covered back deck!

Wonderful lake front getaway
The property was exactly as the pictures show! The dock was perfect for fishing and launching our kayak and the water was shallow enough for us to feel safe having our kids solo around. You feel like you are deep in the country but only a couple of minutes away from great restaurants and grocery stores. We can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Lake Cottage very much. The kitchen and master bedroom and master bathroom were amazing. Check-in was very easy. John was responsive to our questions. On the chilly rainy days, We did miss, being unable to use the fireplace as it was not operational. We also missed having a toaster when we had eggs for breakfast. All in all we were pleased with our stay. It enabled us to make special memories with our children and grandchildren over the holiday season

Family Weekend
We were happy to find this property to serve as a home base for a family wedding in Macon. The main living spaces, bedrooms, and master bed and bath are updated and very functional. The kitchen was spacious and nicely accommodated us and those who stopped by. We would definitely come back to this property as everything worked well, it was clean, and the spaces were comfortable and well-furnished.

Fantastic property owner
Due to the Corona virus we never got to stay at this property. We were traveling to Georgia when we received word that our daughters collegiate softball tournament was cancelled. I contacted the property owner, John, that we would not be staying. He was very understanding and said he would find out about our responsibility for the rental. A short time later I heard back from John what our fees would be to cancel. Then later that day John informed us that VRBO was refunding our money. John was very helpful during a trying time....so Thank You John.

Great Stay on the Lake
I recently stayed in the lake house for two weeks while I was inn town for work. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, the rooms are cozy, and the porch is a great place to unwind. John was very helpful and responsive. I recommend this home away from home.

Amazing home
This property was perfect! Very spacious and accommodating for my family to relax and spend much needed quality time together. The owner is very friendly and reached out to me before my trip and let Me know if we needed anything to contact him. He even made sure that lights would be on at the property in case we arrived after dark. John made me feel welcome and his hospitality is on point. The property backs right up to the lake and is perfect for fishing or just relaxing on the back porch. I loved the home and all it offers.
