"The cabin was comfortable and clean. Food options were limited for a vegetarian (specially one who doesn’t want a minimum of two courses on the expensive restaurant ) and the Tavern which was noisy and just like a suburban pub) didn’t fit with the ethos of a beautiful natural environment. The staff were fantastic though and there are many gorgeous walks around the lodge."
" I liked the location of the property being close to places within walking distance like the Wilderness railway. The room was neat and tidy and was generally quiet during my four-night stay. My only frustration was with the tv in the room as many a time the 'no signal' message popped up. Other than that it is a nice place to stay, and I enjoyed a Sunday dinner in their restaurant. "
"We stayed in a private 4 bed bunk room with 1 double and 2 bunk beds. The bedroom was small but fine for the 2 of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and was a great place to meet other guests. The shared shower and toilet facilities were clean and a good standard.
My criticism is that the price was too high, approx double the price of other holiday chalet style accommodation we stayed in which had private facilities."
"The room is good and very clean, with everything you need. There is no air conditioning, but the electric heater and electric blankets work well. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed during my stay."
The Burrow - Waratah. Picturesque town near Cradle Mountain and Tarkine
6/10 Okay
"Good for the price and easy access to the waterfall.
There are some oddities in my mind, but they do have signs explaining that it's their holiday home so to be understanding. That is one of the oddities in my mind.
The stovetop just doesn't get hot in a hurry, so turn it on before you arrive if you want to boil pasta and eat before midnight.
The fireplace has a sign explaining that others have broken it so now it can't be used. The 'replacement' heater looks hot and does an ok job of the living room.
The shower/bath has hot water and good pressure but if you should want to use the provided soap or shampoo you need to take a stroll to the other end of the bath in the cold so make sure you're not too aromatic.
The heat pumps do a fine enough job of heating the house.
Anyway, it's an affordable option in a nice area, and so if that's what you're looking for it's a choice."
