This listing provided everything that is promised. Unlike other stays where you think you have privacy and find out when you arrive that there are hosts/neighbors close by, this was truly remote. We needed the remoteness because our dog is fearful of people approaching the house and we wanted to give him relief to be able to go out and play frisbee. The property was gorgeous and perfect for the dog. The humans got to enjoy an AMAZING view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets every night. While we couldn't swim in the cold water, we watched seals play every night. We saw bald eagles, we relaxed, we grilled, we cooked in a luxurious kitchen, we roasted marshmallows on an outdoor firestove - it was wonderful. The house was so charming, it felt like we escaped the rushes of current time, but if we needed it there was good Wifi, a TV, a dishwasher, and a washer/dryer. It was also nice to be able to take a good shower. We aren't the type to rough it.There was one issue, but not with the house. We were there during a hot week and there were lots of mosquitos and some bees nests around. Needless to say - we used lots of bugspray and did our best to keep doors closed to keep them out of the house. The nearby town of Machias (15 mins drive) had a grocery store, Walgreens, other shops and a great restaurant called Helens with amazing blueberry pie and lobster! If we didn't live so far I would love to go back again and again.
