"Very surprised how much I loved this small hotel. We had a suit if room, with a kitchen and living room. Dinner was simple but well prepared. Our taxi picked us up at 5 am for our ride to the airport. Highly recommend this hotel for its access to the airport and the quiet country atmosphere. Great view of Kilimanjaro. "

"I stayed one night upon arrival to Moshi. I was warmly greeted late at night. Check in was super easy. They take a copy of your passport. My room - even though I’d booked a single - was much larger and had a double & single beds. Room was clean and tidy with enough plugs for charging your gadgets. There were toiletries including toothbrushes, soap, shampoo & lotion. Breakfast was included and I even got a nice chef-made omelette. They have a nice sitting area by the pool or you can sit inside....

"Lodge was nice. It’s older but they are doing their very best to maintain. Gardens and trees were mature. Pretty! Monkeys were fun to watch as they played and clambered through the trees. Food was good but limited options. Breakfast that was included was really good! Staff were kind and helpful. Shop was small, some souvenirs. Rooms were clean, some tiny and some much bigger even though we paid same rate 2 different stays (before and after our Kili climb). It met our needs for sure of a quiet...

"One of the most unique and wonderful places we’ve visited in Africa! Everything is absolutely superb - from the friendly staff, to the hands-on attention directly from the owners Muksin & Catherine, whom we absolutely adore, to the amazing food, lovely rooms and beautiful views of Mt Kilimanjaro. Every detail is crafted for comfort and adventure. They will help coordinate anything you need like airport transfers, quick trips to the local village, to activities like Maturine Falls and Coffee...

"The staff really got to know you and they were so friendly and kind, but also stayed professional. They greeted us with fresh juice, showed us the room and how the shower works and how to use the air conditioning. They were on top of everything and met our needs. They arranged for a car to pick us up to take us to the airport at 4. They let us check out around 12-1 and kept our bags safe before we were picked up. If I am back in Moshi, I will definitely stay again. "

"Very convenient start before a flight from Kilimanjaro airport. Lovely property with very helpful and friendly staff. Food was very good. Courtesy airport lift provided, about 25 minutes away. The lodge is reached down a very long dirt road after passing through a village - remote but comfortable."

"I really enjoyed spending time at this hotel. The staff are very welcoming and wonderful people to be around. The staff made sure that I had a shuttle to go around town and a safe way to get there, had a secure place to store the remaining luggage, and they made delicious food for breakfast and at the restaurant. I would highly recommend to stay at the Stella Maris Lodge."

I would differently stay there again. "
"really nice resort place to stay around kilimanjaro area. Every nice room and garden, 25 hours warm water for shower. Food is good and local and western options.

"VERY NICE PLACE. BUNGALOW TYPE ROOMS. VERY CLEAN. GREAT POOL AND GOOD FOOD AT THE RESTAURANT. VERY FRIENDLY FRONT DESK. PATRICIA AND QUEEN IN THE RESTAURANT WERE VERY NICE AND ATTENTIVE. AMEG IS A BIT OFF THE BEATEN PATH, BUT TUK TUK'S AND CABS ARE EASY TO GET. COULD SEE KILIMANJARO FROM THE GROUNDS. I WOULD STAY AGAIN."

"There were 16 of us staying here over 4 days and we had such a great stay! The rooms were comfortable, the food excellent, the pool is nice, and the staff were fantastic! They made us feel so welcomed. Jackie went out of here way to help us with excursions and Godfrey, Betha, Judy and the other staff were so kind. I highly recommend staying here and we hope to be back again! "
