Daffodils growing wild Early March 2009, clumps of daffodils growing, apparently wild, in a field used, in rotation with others locally, for cattle grazing. Who planted them? Good job the cows are not in this field currently or they'd have eaten them! In far background is the ria of Carrick Roads with the Roseland peninsla beyond.

Flooded quarry at Carnsew near Mabe This is just a small corner of Carnsew Quarry which is still active. Carnsew is Cornwall's largest inland quarry. Based on the edge of the Carnmenellis Granite intrusion, a silver grey granite is produced in a full range of sizes, providing crusher run, scalpings of various sizes, gabion stone and rock armour. The quarry contains stone coating and ready mix plants supplying the local markets. Aram has shipped aggregates and armour stone from this quarry via the nearby Port of Falmouth and Carnsew Granite has been used in several rock armour projects along the south coast.

Falmouth

St. Michael and All Angels Mission Church. This mission church was built in 1880. Mission churches were built in the 19th Century to accommodate the growing populations in the mining and industrial settlements of Cornwall which were often remote from the parish church.
