"My cousins and I very much enjoyed our 2nd stay at the Matteson’s rental cabin. It’s the perfect home base for a trip to Old Forge. It has everything you need - comfy beds, a nice bathroom with shower, kitchen with fridge, microwave, and regular coffee maker, and a fire pit. We were grateful for the air conditioning too. Bridget is a kind and responsive host. We hope to come back ASAP! :)"

"This property is absolutely beautiful! The swing outside was my favorite thing. The pictures make it look like you can easily cross to the "other side" of the river to the rocks, but we found that to be rather difficult! My kids could do it, but myself and my father-in-law could not. The house was very well appointed and clean. The proximity to town was convenient and the "shady trail" was perfect for our group."

"This place was so adorable and had literally everything we needed for a fun week. Kind of a bummer that we had to bring our own sheets and towels, and there were some wet/moldy towels in the bunk room when we arrived (and also a random pair of wool socks?), but other than that we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We put the kids in the bunk room so the adults could have some peace, and it worked out great. Supposedly there is beach access for the lake with this property, but we never figured out how to get there without having to cut through someone’s private property — to be fair, we didn’t try all that hard and I didn’t try to contact property management about it or anything because it wasn’t that important to us. Overall, this was a super relaxing and lovely place to use as our home base for exploring the mountains. Will 100% book again!!"

In fact, book now before the word on this hidden gem gets out. The house is immaculate and modern but designed with a lodge feel and many cute details throughout. It is spacious, with several common areas both indoors and outdoors - the pictures simply don't do it justice. One unique feature , which we loved is a separate boathouse turned into another large room directly over the water, which is a perfect spot to enjoy the sunsets ,with plenty of space to relax, play games, watch TV etc. My husband actually used it to work for a part of the week - the WiFi was incredibly reliable, even to run Teams calls.There’s a fully stocked, gourmet kitchen with anything you may need to whip up meals , while overlooking the lake. There are a few mom and pop spots just down the road and bigger grocery stores/ restaurants 15-20 mins away.The house is directly lakeside, with very clean , shallow water (for about 15-20 feet) which was perfect for play with our toddler. There is also a swim platform as well as kayaks, a canoe and a paddle board to enjoy the lake and a fire pit for cooler summer nights making smores. Pat is a wonderful host, with communication, helpful with local recommendations and very accommodating. He made sure we had all that we needed for a wonderful stay. We truly didn't want to leave!"
