  • Located on St. George Hill, over-looking the city of Lviv, the church was the perfect target for destruction in the past. At least two versions of the St. George Cathedral were built before the final construction of the church as it is seen today. The Cathedral of St. George became the mother congregation of the Greek-Catholic religion in Ukraine. The St. George Cathedral in Lviv, is home to one of the most treasured relics, which was brought to the cathedral by Bishop Jiseph Shumlianskyi in 1674. It is the Icon of the Virgin Mary, and is a spectacular and preserved artifact. The interior was decorated with luxurious embellishments created by the local artistic talents of Lviv. Pinsel, the sculptor of the cathedral, created the spectacular St. George (known as the Dragon Slayer) statue. The St. George statue can be viewed in the attic of the cathedral, while the intimidating statues of St. Athanasius and St. Leo protect the portal. Renovations to the St. George Cathedral took place in the 1996, restoring the original beauty of the cathedral. Tourists, visiting this amazing historical masterpiece will not be disappointed. Over and above the cathedral, visitors can also visit the belfry, walk through the peaceful gardens or enter the final resting place of many important figures of the past in the tombs below the cathedral.

  • Lovely view of old Lviv from the top of the tower in the center of Ploscha Rynok. That's the Latin Cathedral, one of the oldest still-active churches in the city. To climb the tower, go up the first four flights of stairs to the ticket desk. The way is clearly marked with signs in multiple languages, including English. At the desk, pay 10 hrivna and then keep climbing up, up, and up until you reach the open deck at the top of the tower. Then enjoy the view!

It was fine and clean. The bathroom counter was big. It did not have drinking water, air conditioning, a small convenience store or a fridge. The parking was good and easy

Nice place to stay for comfort.. Location was not good.. The breakfast was terrible.. More variety of juices, eggs fried or scrambled.. the omelette wasn’t eatable.. No fresh fruit..

the hotel itself was very nice, good service. A very modern hotel but quite a distance from the centre.Breakfast was not great choice but what they offered was very nice

Check in was super quick as we arrived in the early hours of the morning. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Convenient, large and basic hotel, perfect for an overnight stop or for a couple of days when exploring Lviv...

This was a very nice hotel, well worth its 3 stars or more. Staff were good bit far out of town but tram was good and very cheap, 6 pence into town.

One Star Hotel

The hotel is at a bad location, noisy trains, rowdy children, and poor customer service. When I checked in 4 hours early, I was charged, which I understood. When I checked out a night earlier, I got no refund. My room was given to a customer who wouldn't have had a room if I hadn't checked out early but they still refused to give me part refund.

Details sind halt wichtig!

Das Bad wurde in einer Woche nie gewischt, das Zimmer nie gesaugt, die Öffnungskarte ging zwei Mal in einer Woche nicht in Abstand von zwei Tagen, morgens war im Frühstücksraum Disco, sodaß die Servicekraft die Zimmernummer nicht verstehen konnte, mehrere Angestellte hatten Probleme einen überhaupt zu grüßen, auch wenn man als Gast zuerst grüßte. Das ist schlecht - auch daß nachts Gäste randalieren... :-( Sonst ist alles super und viele geben sich sehr viel Mühe. Das Land ist halt im Aufbau auf allen Gebieten und wir geben uns die beste Mühe EU-Standards zu erreichen und zu übertreffen. Slava Ukraini!

Были в данном отеле на Новый Год семьей. Ожидали гораздо большего. В номере был ужасный телевизор, вода в душе ограничена по температуре, сам номер маленький с очень тонкими стенками, так что шум с коридора очень слышен, да и с улицы тоже. Шведский стол неплохой, но за такую стоимость номера могло быть и получше что-то. Сама гостиница находится очень далеко от центра города, приходилось все время ездить на такси. Общий вывод - за такую сумму денег можно найти что-то и поприличнее. Отдыхом остались недовольны.

Návštěva Lvova

Poznávací cesta do Lvova, hotel je na velmi dobré úrovni, o to více vyniká kontrast s okolím (nekvalitní paneláková zástavba, rozbité cesty). Je trochu dále od centra města, do centra jsme se vydali autem, ale doporučuji použít maršrutku (autobus) za 4 hrivny, už zmiňované cesty jsou v takovém stavu, že byste si po několika pojížďkách auto zničili.

a great place to stay in lviv

clean, big, nice, quiet suite, excellent value for money, perfect breakfast with a large variety to choose from including roasted chicken, free guarded parking, very nice and polite staff. the area is near the southern ring road of lviv, bus to the centre for 0.15 eur (4 hrv) - 40mins, taxi for 2.6 eur (70 hrv) - 20mins, situated in the local residential area which is very interesting for me. i am definitely going back to this hotel!

I loved that stay...

I would recomend this hotel... For this price you get much more then you expect!!! Everything is updated and look brand new,at night time it look awesome with their exterrior color lights and beatufull restaurant.To get to downtown is 10-15 min on taxi and its 70 of local currency its about 3$,complettly satisfied with this hotell.

Very nice hotel, however quite far to the city center. There are buses, but still it takes almost half an hour one way. But remember that if it was located close to the old town, you would have to pay much more. For this price it is a good option.

Gutes Hotel zum günstigen Preis

Auf unserer Reise nach Odessa entscheiden wir uns in Lviv zwischenstopp zu machen. Im Hotel Sonata wurden wir freundlich auf Englisch empfangen. Um 1 Uhr morgens, haben wir dann noch von der Möglichkeit des 24 Stunden Restaurants profitiert. Die Zimmer waren zweckmäßig ausgestattet mit Flachbildfernseher, 2 Zimmern mit jeweils 2 Betten (Familienzimmer) und modernisiertem Bad. Alles in allem sehr sauber und gepflegt. Durch die Nähe zu den Umgehungsstraßen, war es für uns am nächsten morgen, nach dem guten und großem Frühstücksbuffet, ein leichtes unsere Reise fortzusetzen.

Zum schlafen absolut ausreichend

Wir waren zu fünft in 3 DZ aufgeteilt. Die Zimmer waren alle sehr klein, aber sehr sauber. Da wir wirklich nur ein paar Stunden zum schlafen dort waren, alles in allem absolut ausreichend. Der Service war ok, etwas unfreundlich vielleicht, was aber auch daran liegen konnte, das das Personal kein Wort Englisch sprechen konnte, daher wurden wir wortlos empfangen und verabschiedet. Das Frühstück war nicht nach unserem Geschmack (u.a. gab es Spagetti und Nudelsuppe zum Frühstück und die Semmeln waren steinhart) Möchte jemand ein sauberes und billiges Hotel und legt kein Wert auf Freundlichkeit o.ä. dem kann ich dieses Hotel gerne weiter empfehlen.

Goede ervaring

Goed hotel voor een goede prijs met internet op de kamer. Parkeren gratis op een bewaakt terrein aan voorzijde hotel. Kamers zien er keruig verzorgd uit en zijn netjes. Ook de rest van het hotel is netjes en schoon.

Hyvä hotelli

Hotelli oli puhdas ja siisti sekä huoneiden että muiden tilojen suhteen. Aamupala oli monipuolinen ja hyvä, palvelu oli moitteeton, englannilla palvelu toimi. Ravintola oli auki 24 h/vrk ja ruoka oli hyvää. Hotelli sijaitsi 5-6 km keskustasta, mutta taksilla pääsi keskustaan edullisesti. Tavarajuna liikenne meni hotellin läheltä, mutta ei haittaa. Autoliikenne sen verran kaottinen, ettei tullut mieleen lähteä omalla autolla keskustaan! Kameravalvonta parkkipaikalla. Hotellin löytäminen oli hankalaa, hotelli sijatsi kaupungin etelä puolella. Suosittelemme hotellia.
