"We stayed one night at the Hotel Pommernland having flown in to the nearby Anklam airfield. As it was the Ascention weekend there were no taxis available so the hotel manager Eric kindly gave us a lift into town to a greek restaurant. Hotel was clean and tidy and the rooms were absolutely fine. My only criticism is that there was only 1 feather pillow supplied which was way too soft, my head sunk straight through it. Breakfast was OK."

"This is a great resort for families with kids up to about 6 years old. The facilities cater amazingly to thaat age group. For older kids the pool is very good and the games room is also good, but the kids program for 7-9 year olds is only ok. Breakfast buffet is fantastic, with great choices. The appartment we stayed in was a very good size with plenty of space. It is about 15-20 minute walk to the beach, which for us was fine. You can rent bikes for a good proce if you want to explore...

Frühstück so lala.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Luhmannsdorf?
The best area to stay in Luhmannsdorf is the village centre, particularly around Dorfstraße, for its convenient access to local amenities and the surrounding natural beauty.

This area is the heart of Luhmannsdorf, offering a relaxed village setting. Along Dorfstraße, you'll find the local bakery, a small shop for essentials, and the village church. It's a pleasant area for a stroll, with well-maintained homes and gardens.

Families will find the village centre an excellent base. Its central location means easy access to the local playground and open fields for children to play. The nearby nature trails, accessible directly from the village, are great for family walks or cycling excursions.

For couples seeking a quiet retreat, staying slightly outside the immediate village centre, perhaps along one of the quieter lanes branching off Dorfstraße, offers more seclusion.
When is the best time to go to Luhmannsdorf?
The best time to visit Luhmannsdorf is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the natural beauty of the Mecklenburg region is at its peak.

During late spring, the countryside around Luhmannsdorf comes alive with lush greenery and blooming wildflowers, making it ideal for outdoor activities like cycling and hiking. The days are longer, and temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 22°C, great for exploring the nearby lakes and forests without the peak summer crowds.

Early autumn offers similar comfortable temperatures, usually between 12°C and 18°C, with the added beauty of changing leaf colours. This period is particularly good for those who appreciate scenic walks and photography. The harvest season also means you might find local markets offering fresh produce.

While summer (July and August) can be warm and sunny, with temperatures often reaching 25°C or higher, it's also the busiest time for tourism, especially around the popular lakes.
