I have been staying at Cottage # 1, for over 20 years! My all time favorite place to stay while in the Ludington area. The host/manager of cottage is wonderful. Within easy walking distance to Stearns Park Beach and North Pier Lighthouse and close drive into shops, restaurants, bookstores, and the Ludington State Park, where you will find another beach, beachhouses, and the Hamlin Dam, Hamlin Lake, Lost Lake, etc... Miles of Lake Michigan Beach.
The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well furnished with toaster, coffee maker, and plenty of dishes, cups, and utensils. We appreciated the proximity and walkability to the beach (1/2 block), and into town (1/2 mile).
This adorable cottage is cozy, comfortable and complete! You will have a very well stocked place to stay-it is adorable! I have been coming to these cottages for years and you won’t find a better host than Jill. She is very easy to deal with and she accommodates your every wish if she is able.. the location couldn’t be better - think no more about it - book your stay today, you won’t regret it!!
Had a fun stay. The natural amenities at Ludington State Park are a longtime favorite of mine. It was nice to have just a 5 minute drive to get to the park. Even nicer was the 3 minute walk to the Ludington City Beach....just a half block away where we caught beautiful sunsets each night as the kids played in the sand and froliced in the water. Jill's place has all of the important amenities, complete with that adorable cottage vibe and easy maintenance furnishings. We were able to park just outside of our door which was super convenient. The grounds are absolutely beautiful....someone must be a master gardener.
Like being on vacation and home at the same time, the cottage location is perfect for walking around the area and a short walk to the beach. A clean and well-maintained property will stay there again.
Location, location, location! (and crazy cute and clean!)
Need I say more? An adorable property. Walking distance to the beach! (prob prefer to drive as you walk across a 2 lane and if you are hauling stuff... but for a quick sunset!)
Was just me, a single female. My daughter, son in law and grandsons stayed in a cabin adjacent. It was absolutely perfect for me. In my opinion would be too small for more. Literally steps away from the most beautiful beach. Short drive to downtown with amazing shopping. Cabin was well equipped, and grounds were well kept. I would definitely book again.
The cottage itself was very nice. It was quite clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, etc. The location is very close to the beach and is a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Ludington.
Things to note if privacy is an issue for you: one wall adjoins another cottage, and there's not much in the way of soundproofing. Also, the shared deck with seating and grills is just outside the front door and kitchen & bathroom windows.
Jill, the manager, was an excellent host. Communications with her were always prompt and clear. We had an issue with the bathroom sink that she managed to get resolved within 24 hours.
Overall, the cottage is a great choice if you want to be near the beach, and you couldn't ask for a better manager than Jill.
This is a very cute cottage. The location and neighborhood are great! Now the downside, there is no air conditioning and only a ceiling fan above the bed. It was hot, humid and stormed the weekend we were there. The window blew open in the middle of the night. Yes, it was windy but the windows are so old it literally blew open and flooded the front area. That was fun to clean up. The shower is very small and the water pressure is almost none. So between the shower and no AC, this is a pass for us. When we got there I looked at the property description again. Under amenities it does not list AC. It’s a very cute old cottage; we didn’t expect perfect. I just wish the description specifically listed no AC so we knew that at the time of booking. In these days, most rentals have basic things like AC.
Looks exactly like the pictures- cute, quaint and clean! Perfect fit for two people and it has all the essentials. Jill was also very responsive in answering any questions we had before and during our stay.
