This is my third time staying at this home, and I've written past reviews. This year was a little different. There were some extremely wet and windy days that limited my outdoor activities, and these days helped me appreciate the true comfort that you find here. One day, I stretched out in the window seat (yes - you can fully stretch out in it!), read a book, watched the rain, and when the sun finally broke through the clouds, I napped there, in the sunlight. On another morning I wrapped myself in a blanket and sat in one of the chairs in the master bedroom and watched as the rain came down.
Of course, when the days are sunny there is plenty to do - hiking, kayaking, and exploring the towns in the area. Downeast is a beautiful part of Maine, and this property is ideally located.
I will admit that some of my best days were spent on the back porch or the elevated seating area that is set up in the rocks, enjoying the sun, watching the seals, loons and cormorants fish, drinking a beer and reading a book.
This place is where I go to rejuvenate. It's almost magical. I drive away on Saturday, refreshed and ready to return to the madness of life. I've been coming Downeast for nearly twenty years. You will not regret selecting this location. It is the very best.
