Practical!

Room was clean, generally in good condition. Access is easy and there’s plenty of room for parking. It would be good to have a light on the desk.

Good for overnight

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms are small, so good for overnight. There was a kitchenette with a 2 burner stove, a microwave, a fridge and a desk. The bathroom had a pedestal sink so our biggest issue was where to put our stuff. It was nice to be able to park in front of our room. We chose it because it was more affordable than the hotels in Carlsbad. (We didn’t use it but they also have laundry facility on site.)

They were pumping water from the hole dug near our room. They could have placed us further away from the hole in the ground with the water and mud. No dish towels to wash dishes. Thin walls as we could hear the people on either side of us.

Awesome place to stay and have some quiet time. Mrs. Kitty is wonderful and maintains a really nice property. RV spots, apartments and hotel rooms. Hard to beat in the Carlsbad area.

The space was too small for a couple. Perfect for one person who had an extended stay to use stove and refrigerator Also it could at least have a small night stand beside bed. It was clean and convenient to Carlsbad Caverns

When we got near the location I was a little nervous because the surrounding neighborhood appeared to be a bit “sketchy”. My concerns were all for nothing. It was a delightful place to stay. Thanks!

When we arrived in our room we noticed that the door had obviously been kicked in at some point and had hastily been fixed. So we didn’t feel safe here from the beginning. After we settled in we tried to take a shower but there was no hot water. We went to the front desk to ask about it and he realized that he put us in the one building that had the heating element out. It was late and we didn’t want to move so we just didn’t shower. The next morning I realized that I had already paid for this place on Expedia and when we checked in he had charged me AGAIN. I had to go to the front desk, prove I’d already paid, and get my money back. I asked if we could just get our money back for our second night and we would go somewhere else but the girl at the front desk said that there wasn’t anyone there who could make that decision. We didn’t want to leave and risk the chance of not getting refunded so unfortunately we stayed. When we got back from our day out, another front desk employee offered us a new room that we could use to just shower in. When I entered this room there was a man lying in bed which was embarrassing for both of us. I went back to tell the employee and she gave me a key to another room that she “knew was empty for sure”. There were 3 cars in the parking lot so how it was even possible she gave me keys to a room someone else was already in blows my mind. The worst place we stayed on our 3 month roadtrip.

We stayed here because it was a 40 minute drive to Carlsbad and it had a kitchen. Once we arrived we realized that this place is generally used to those working in the nearby oil fields. The room we were in would have been perfect for one person. It was very tiny for my husband and I and our son. We didn’t manage to fit a twin sized air mattress on the ground. Pros: it was clean, updated (or new), and quiet. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Lots of ice available for our cooler. Parking was close and there was plenty of it. Bed was comfy. The kitchen was simple but I could do the cooking I needed. The fridge worked great. Cons: very small room and it was lacking some of the things you generally find in a hotel. If you add these, our stay would have been nearly perfect. Some suggestions: End tables on each side of the bed with a desk lamp. More options to plug in phones and devices. A small table or something in the bathroom to put items on. Additional plates, cups, and silverware. When we arrived late at night we found only one fork, spoon, and knife. Two plates, bowls, and cups. We were able to get more silverware the following day. Having at least four of each item would have been helpful.
