"I booked 2 rooms. The smell in the room on the 1st floor was almost unbearable. It had a stark stench of mildew. The furniture (sofa and rugs) on the 3rd floor were just absolutely filthy with stains. The pool and the gym were inoperable. I was extremely disappointed."

"The first room (201)was terrible. I don’t know where to start. Bathroom was nasty, the bathtub was filthy with rings around it. Hair was in the tub…rust around the faucet, shower head, the knobs and the shower rod. Rings around the toilet, paper floating around in the toilet. Sheets on the beds were pulled and half made up, they were old dingy with cotton balls all over them as well as the pillows cases. Wow, the mattresses were horrible as well, sunk in as well as lumpy. The floors were filthy in the bathroom and the carpet. Also it was stocked with towels, no Kleenex, no soap. Furniture hadn’t been dusted in a while. Thank God I brought disinfectant wipes and Lysol spray. I reported it to the front desk clerk and removed to another room (230)which was a little bit cleaner than(201). There was hair and hairpins left on the floor underneath the shelf and dirt behind the toilet. The mattresses on both beds too were sunk in and lumpy. Wires from the AC unit were hanging from underneath it. The coffee maker was filthy inside and outside. The grounds were well maintained, the lobby, the exercise room was appealing. In general this is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The whole place needs a make over. There’s no ventilation in the bathrooms for the steam to escape. The ice machines were horrible, rusty and the ice had mold on it. We had to get ice from the nearby gas station. The hallways were dark on the second floor, I don’t know about the other floors. CMT"

"The hotel and the grounds were nicely kept. I used the gym and it had everything I needed. The breakfast choices were simple but hit the spot. Bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The shower could use a little help though. All in all, the hotel, its staff, and the amenities were great for the price."

"I did not request a smoking room, however that was what they put me in, and it truly smelled horrible. When I asked to be swapped to a non-smoking room, the only thing they had available was a room with a smaller bed. I wanted a king bed. Also, the folks that were in the room, either above me or next to me, had a dog that would not be quiet!"

"I have always wanted to stay at The Hotel Bentley and finally had a chance. The lobby is beautiful, the restoration makes you feel as if you stepped back in time. The restaurant and the room that I stayed in, not so much. It's obvious where money was and wasn't spent. The check-in was great and the food in the restaurant was so good! I would definitely eat there again when I'm in town, just wished that the restaurant "felt" like 1908, definitely a missed design opportunity!"

"Upon arrival our room was FREEZING COLD at 66*!! We were in bed when the smoke alarm went off at 10:30pm! Called front desk and NO ANSWER 3X!!! 83 yr old husband got dressed to go to reception and no one there!! He was outside chilling!! He came up to the room and couldn’t get the battery case off so he pushed a button and said it’s fixed! Back to bed and BEEP again!!! Hubby calls down again and NO answer again!! Guy comes back and says we have to change rooms at 10:50 PM!!! So I get dressed, pack and load the cart while man who said he would help watches! Hubby had thyroid removal surgery 10 days earlier so couldn’t lift! It’s 11:15 before we get to bed! Guy says to talk to Manager in the morning! So hubby talks to her, she interrupted him and said she would give him $46 of our $126 room, even though IHG website SAYS they’ll give a refund and some points, he was RUDELY told NO POINTS FOR YOU! He said that was not acceptable! Then she YELLED at my sweet hubby to “ Have a good night somewhere else! You’re a MEAN MAN”!!! He was horrified! So I packed the car and then went back in and calmly said to “Wyona” “No one speaks to my husband like that…” she interrupted me and yelled at me about $46! I said that was not an acceptable “COMPENSATION” for what we had been subjected to, she said she was calling the POLICE and we needed to vacate the property immediately BECAUSE WE WERE TRESPASSING!!!!! FOUR Police cars pulled up and told us to leave! She yelled “NO $46 now”!! HORRIBLE!!!"
