Welcome to your Mohican getaway! This private lodge on 10 acres is ideal for group trips & family gatherings. With 5 bedrooms and sleeping space for up to 20, it’s built for connection and comfort. Inside, enjoy an open layout with a full kitchen, large dining area, and multiple living spaces to relax & spread out. Outside, explore a ¾-acre pond, firepit, and open yard space. Whether you're celebrating, reconnecting, or simply escaping the everyday, this is the perfect place to make memories.

We do not live on site but we are nearby and are available if needed.

The Little Lodge sits on over an acre of peaceful countryside, offering the perfect blend of quiet retreat and nearby adventure.
While the setting is rural and serene, you're just minutes from downtown Loudonville—a charming town filled with boutique shops, local restaurants, canoeing, an aerial adventure park, go-karts, mini golf, and more.
Looking for day trips? Mohican State Park, Malabar Farm, Snow Trails, and Amish Country are all a short, scenic drive away.
Whether you’re looking to relax and recharge or pack your days with activities, The Little Lodge is the perfect home base.

The driveway and all parking areas are paved with cement, offering clean and easy access to the property. However, please note that the drive is long and includes some incline.
From December 1st through April 1st, we strongly recommend that guests arrive in a vehicle equipped with four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). This is especially important during winter months, when snow, ice, or other hazardous weather conditions can make the incline more challenging. Properly equipped vehicles help ensure safe and reliable access throughout your stay.

With over 4,000 square feet of space, The Lodge is a nature lover’s dream—featuring large rooms, an open floor plan, and expansive windows that open onto your own private deck, gardens, and pond. There’s room for everyone to relax and recharge, with four king beds, six queens, and multiple indoor and outdoor living spaces designed for gathering or spreading out. Whether you’re fishing in the pond, playing pool in the basement, or enjoying board games by the fire, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy—from slow mornings to late-night laughs.

This is a rural property. We are within easy driving distance from Mohican State Park, Malabar Farm, Snow Trails Ski Lodge, Amish country, and more.

We welcome families and children at The Lodge on 687, but please note that the property is not childproof. There is a natural pond on site, and it is the responsibility of supervising adults to ensure children's safety at all times, both indoors and outdoors. Children must be actively supervised, especially near the water.

The pond may be enjoyed for swimming, fishing, or using the small boat provided. Life jackets are strongly recommended, and a few are available for guest use during your stay.

Firewood is not provided, but there is a convenient roadside stand just around the corner:

It’s a self-serve setup with a cash box (cash only), and it’s typically well-stocked.

We had a really great time during our stay. The property was huge and had lots of stuff to do. Beautiful house that was very clean and maintained nicely. The pond was definitely stock with some great fish!

There’s no place I'd rather be with my family

Peaceful and Breathtaking

I rarely ever write reviews or maybe never after each of our getaway but this place is definitely worth my time. All I have to say is that it is thus far our "Best Getaway". We never once left the house and enjoyed every moment of our time and wish we could have stayed longer. We surely will be back😊.

This was a perfect location for celebrating our 50th anniversary with our family. The kids fished and swam all day every day. We loved sitting around the fire pit as a group and talking and reminiscing. I especially liked all the quiet places on the property where you can just sit and enjoy nature. I highly recommend this place for any group.

Beautiful house and property

We stayed here for a family weekend (about 20 people, including infants and toddlers). The house is absolutely beautiful, clean, and was probably the most well-stocked location we have ever rented (basic spices, foil, kitchen supplies, coffee pods, etc). The extra fridge in the garage was CLUTCH. There is plenty of space to "get away" from the large group if needed - front porch, basement, decks, etc.Communication with the owner was excellent - they responded right away to every question we had.Lots to do: kids spent a ton of time in the pond, fishing, rowing the small boat, and floating on inflatables. Plenty of games like cornhole, table tennis, billiards, to keep them occupied. Adults used the fire pit EVERY night.One suggestion for a family with small kids: you will have to be vigilant when outside. The grass area leading to the pond is on a hill, so if a kid is running and gets away from you, they could be in the water pretty quickly. I think the parents of the littles were pretty exhausted by the time we left.Sleeping was a little challenging - while there are plenty of beds, we found a pretty big difference in temperatures between the basement (frigid) and the 2nd floor (hot at night), and the noise in the house seemed to echo everywhere so the late night people were heard along with the early risers. Bring earplugs and prepare to be flexible, changing rooms if needed. Thanks for a great stay.

Friends reunion

Every year over the past 20 years my HS and College friends get together. We all agreed that this was one of the best properties we have stayed at. The host was easy to communicate with and was very responsive to our questions. The house is sprawling with enough space for everyone. Everything was set up for us to relax and have fun. The game room was great and the seating was top notch. Every room was clean and comfortable. The host definitely takes pride in their property. We will definitely be back again!! Greg

Awesome property and host!

This beautiful property was absolutely perfect for us, and is well maintained with the host paying attention to detail. From the check-in gifts of smore fixings and other snacks, to the well stocked coffee bar, to including laundry pods for doing laundry, having the light switches labeled, and providing a spare propane tank for the grill, we appreciated those details. The home itself is great. The game room kept the kids of all ages occupied, we caught fish in the pond, used the fire pit and grill, and having a second refrigerator in the garage was a lifesaver with 14 of us there. It was nice to have so many different spaces to hang out since we had many adults who could hang out in the great room upstairs with a view of the pond, or the family room in the basement with the pool table, in the swing on the enclosed front porch, or in the game room/garage, depending on their mood. The seating inside in the dining room fit us all at a beautiful oak table, but outdoor seating on the deck was also perfect since there are two large picnic tables. The leaves were just starting to change and fall on the heavily treed property, which was a great backdrop. With fourteen of us there for a wedding, we always had hot water for all showers, and the water pressure was good for a rural property. Lots to do around there also, with the Mohican State Park and Amish country close by. The hosts were responsive when we had a question and answered almost immediately. We loved this place!

Fantastic Stay

Lodge was perfect location and size for 11 adults meeting up for class reunion. Great attention to detail & every need accounted for. Game room in garage, large gathering room and a dining table where everyone had a place were the highlights. We all said - we can do THIS again! Comfortable and peaceful get away!

This property is the perfect place for a large group. The home was extremely clean and comfortable to be in. The beds were very comfortable and there were many thoughtful amenities such as the coffee bar, s’mores set up, and lots of entertaining games. Wow! What a gorgeous place. And Jodi and Josh were definitely the best hosts I've ever worked with. Quick responses to all of our questions and needs. We had our family Christmas with our children and grandchildren Everyone agreed we would love rent this house again. The kitchen had everything. The house was big enough that we could all gather or go hide if you needed some quiet. The dining table was a high point because we could all enjoy meals together. The outdoor setting is beautiful. Definitely looking forward to staying there again.

Pre-Wedding Retreat Perfection

We booked this property as a pre-wedding retreat for us and our wedding party and it was the best decision we could have made. The grounds were absolutely beautiful, clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The kitchen had a little gift basket for us which was a very sweet gesture. There were so many places to hang out and so much to do, that even though we were there for 3 full days, we barely felt like we scratched the surface of possibilities. Plus, the beds were extremely comfortable which is not a given. We brought a bunch of our own stuff thinking that we'd need blankets, fire wood, cooking utensils, etc. and we didn't need any of it! The house came well stocked with everything we needed. I even found a little first aid kit when someone cut themselves on scissors helping with a craft and we fixed them right up. I highly recommend this property.
