"You couldn’t set the shower temp. It was either really hot or really cold. Plus the tub was dirty and had hair in it. The pillow cases had stains. The bed was hard as a rock. It took hours for the room to cool down. The thermostat must have been 50 years old. It would take us a few minutes of trying the keys to open the door every time. "

"My husband, our puppers and I came to Alpena for the celebration of life ceremony for our grandma. The trip was last minute but the hosts made everything super convenient from our booking theough thw emd of our stay. Our drive up after work on Friday got us into Alpena after midnight so we were extremely grateful to find the kitchen was stocked with coffee, creamer and sugar. A godsend Saturday morning when we were scrambling to get dressed for the service. Our puppers was very comfortable in the house and backyard, he can have trouble settling in when we travel and it said a lot that he had no trouble sleeping, eating his breakfast or running around the backyard. Thank you guys for putting the extra attention care into setting up your home for visitors, it was greatly appreciated!"

"The manager messaged me letting me know the details. We had 1 small hiccup as i was the first of the year, as soon as a notified them if said issue, they responded immediately and fixed it. They are extremely friendly and kind. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a nice little get away. Oh and the waterfall is such an amazing feature while sitting out and reading. "

"My husband and I (and our dog) enjoyed our stay at Life Aquatic! Very clean and conveniently located home! It was perfect for our lighthouse, fossil, and rock hunting vacation. The views of the water were really nice from the kitchen and main upstairs bedroom, and we were lucky to have a warm and sunny day to pull some patio furniture out from the boat house to enjoy! We had fun playing the card games and Sega Genesis system at night! The hot water heater capacity left a little to be desired for showers, but it definitely didn't spoil our time. Overall a positive experience at the home and with the property manager!"

"I’m very disappointed with this stay and feel it’s important to share my experience for future guests.While early check-in was offered, the access code was not provided at that time, causing unnecessary confusion. Once I did receive the code, I was informed that the hot water “may not be working,” which is a major concern for any stay.Upon arrival, the property was not thoroughly cleaned. There was visible rust in the toilet, as well as sand and dirt in the shower. Additionally, the kitchen sink had little to no water pressure, making it nearly impossible to cook or clean—basic functions that should be expected.I notified the host about the water pressure issue and did not receive a response for 17 hours. When I finally heard back, I was told that the pictures I sent through VRBO were not received and that maintenance would be notified. However, I remained at the property and no one ever arrived. Instead, I was instructed to try to fix the faucet myself by unscrewing the faucet head. Unfortunately, that was not possible as the fixture was rusted, and I did not have tools available.This was my fourth stay at this property, and while I have overlooked previous issues, this experience crossed a line. The inability to reliably access hot water and running water in the kitchen made it impossible to meet basic daily needs.I would not recommend this property based on my experience."
