Quiet Clean property
Very nice property and good location. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated being able to grill dinner and relax on the deck. Felt like home being able to wash clothes and stay in our own bedrooms. Would recommend the place to anyone wanting a private location to use as home base for relaxing in Northern California.

Bring your own utensils
Beautiful remote area. Property as described. Beds were very comfortable. Spent a lot of time looking out of the large windows at the birds and rabbits. Our only issue was that there was not enough utensils. 1 teaspoon and 3 tablespoons. 4 forks but many butter knives. For a house that sleeps 6, it could be a problem. Also no bottle opener There were the tiny ants on the counter. They would walk in and out of the ant traps! All in all, a great place to stay.

Great hideaway
Beautiful property with views of the bay and ocean. Older mobile that has been updated. Great place to unwind and relax. We would take day trips and spend our evenings in the home.

too many cons for the pros
Pro's: -beautiful, beautiful landscape where it's located plenty of space inside. Be warned, it's 10 minutes from a tiny village, and about 20 minutes from South Eureka. -plenty of seating for eating and at the tv -the price was great Con's: -ANTS: some reviews mentioned ants. Others did not. We chanced it for the price. The first night, no ants. We were gone all day the second day, came back to find our food on the counter infiltrated with ants. Had to throw some of it away because there were so many ants inside. Ant traps on the counter. It's clearly been a problem for a long time. They need an exterminator. -communication was awful. I booked the listing, realized within 2 minutes that I need to change the last date. I messaged them right then. I still have had no response and we are clearly back from our trip. We got locked out on our second night there. The code would not work. It was raining (no porch to hide) and cold, windy and late at night with tired kids. I called the phone line, and had to pick between pressing 1 for safety issues and 2 for comfort issues. I picked safety. It rang and rand and rang. Nobody ever answered. Thankfully a door had been left unlocked and we were able to get in. I travel alone with my 5 kids a lot. I am always scared we will get to a rental house in the middle of the night and not be able to get in. It happened. - the water pressure. It was so bad. limp noodle bad. I only showered onces there because it was such a struggle to get soap off. Buy a waterpik already! There are things they could do to make this place a MUCH better stay and it wouldn't even be a lot of work for them or cost much. Update all the bedding. Add soft throw blankets to the couch. Install waterpik's to the showers. HIRE AN EXTERMINATOR. Use a different rental company. You need to be able to communicate. Would not stay again.

Overall experience negative - compared to other houses we've rented through vrbo
Beautiful location - great restaurants in eureka. BUT, house not key ready. Kitchen - not stocked properly with basics - salt and pepper shakers empty, no cooking oil. Light over sink too low - kept bumping my head. Front door - no screen so cross breeze let in air along with all the bugs. Bbq dangerous - propane bottle valve handle was frozen open - could have fallen and caused fire. I called maintenance folks on Friday and they said they might not be able to come. Gina did in fact come out - She gets an A+, but not replacement was provided. TV - one of the TV remotes was missing so no volume - finally found the remote UNDER the couch on departure day.

Remote location
We really enjoyed the property. It had great views and was very quiet. We liked the ability to walk near the property. We also had deer in the yard on several occasions. There were a couple of small issues. The quantity of glasses and eating utensils was somewhat limited. For our group of 6 we had to wash dishes daily. Also there is some "shared" access to this property through a gate. We had someone who tended to livestock next door using the driveway to this property as a short cut to the adjacent property. They would drive up the driveway to this property, notice the cars parked in back and then back up and use the adjacent driveway. Since this property is quite remote, it was disconcerting to see someone in the driveway approaching the house. The other issue was parking on grass without a hard surface entrance to the front door.

Great place with beautiful view
Place is clean and in a beautiful location. Had a few ants so keep food put away but other than that it was great and we would stay here again. We loved the peaceful setting…deer, birds and ocean view.
