BIRGÉS HOTEL Lifestyle and View

10/10 Excellent

"Dear BIRGÉS Hotel Team, We would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for the wonderful experience we had at your beautiful hotel. From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly kind, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Your hospitality truly made us feel special and comfortable. The spa facilities are absolutely amazing! Everything is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, including the saunas and pools. The massage services were excellent, and our room was spotless, cozy, comfortable, and beautifully designed. The food was outstanding! Both breakfast and dinner exceeded our expectations. We also truly appreciated the professional and convenient bicycle rental service. One of the things we loved most about BIRGÉS Hotel is the atmosphere. Although the hotel is luxurious, elegant, and beautifully designed, it never makes guests feel that they need to be wealthy or pretend to be someone they are not. We could simply be ourselves, relax, and enjoy everything in a warm, welcoming, and respectful environment. To us, that is what true luxury and exceptional hospitality are all about. Thank you so very much to the entire BIRGÉS Hotel team for your hard work, dedication, kindness, and outstanding service. You have created a truly special place, and we are grateful for the wonderful memories. God bless BIRGÉS Hotel, its wonderful staff, and everyone who makes this beautiful place so special! With sincere appreciation and warmest regards, Istvan & Adrien"

Kenese Bay Garden Resort & Conference Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Family with one teenager, from the UK. We were super impressed with this hotel. We don't speak Hungarian, but we were made so welcome, particularly by the reception staff, who responded to requests for kettles, an iron, and numerous other things. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of sunbeds and the variety of food at breakfast and dinner. It was such a relaxing stay — we absolutely loved it!"

Hunguest BÁL Resort

8/10 Good

"Both breakfast and dinner had a good variety. The dining area was clean and so was the room assigned to us. There was a tiny bit of pressure to purchase drinks at dinner time. There was maintenance ongoing with the steam room and one of the saunas but this was not informed at all on the booking page. Likewise the beach which belongs to the hotel was also unavailable and again not mentioned on the booking page. These information should have been made available on the booking page and also not mentioned by staff until I specifically requested information. What’s with the secrecy? I find such behaviour unacceptable and short of rude. If such facilities are unavailable then I expected a discount on the room rates."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Lókút?

The best area to stay in Lókút is within the village centre itself, particularly around the main road, Kossuth Lajos utca.

Lókút is a small, quiet village located in the Bakony Hills, known for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. The village centre is compact and easy to navigate, with most amenities and guesthouses located along or just off Kossuth Lajos utca. You'll find a local shop and a church, giving it a traditional Hungarian village feel.

For couples seeking a tranquil escape, staying in the heart of Lókút is ideal. The surrounding forests offer plenty of opportunities for walks and enjoying nature, and the guesthouses often provide a cosy, intimate setting. It's a superb base for unwinding and enjoying the slow pace of rural life.

Families will also find Lókút's village centre a good fit. The lack of heavy traffic and the open spaces make it a relaxing environment for children. Many accommodations offer gardens or outdoor areas, and the nearby woods provide natural playgrounds for exploration.

When is the best time to go to Lókút?

The best time to go to Lókút is during the late spring (May to early June) or early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasantly mild and the natural surroundings are at their most picturesque.

During these periods, the temperatures are comfortable for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling through the Bakony Hills, which are particularly beautiful with spring blossoms or autumn foliage. The village itself, located in the heart of the Bakony, is quieter outside of the peak summer holiday season, offering a more tranquil experience.

Families often find late spring ideal as the weather is warm enough for children to enjoy exploring the local trails and visiting nearby attractions like the Zirc Arboretum without the intense heat of mid-summer. There are also fewer crowds, making for a more relaxed visit.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will appreciate early autumn. The crisp air and vibrant colours of the changing leaves create a romantic backdrop for long walks and cosy evenings.
