The COVID-19 pandemic may have changed the way we travel, but it hasn't shut down our love of exploring. Here are some tips on how to tackle travel's new challenges:

• Know what rules and restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you lock in your flight.
• When you pass through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to lower it briefly for identification purposes. Those who refuse to wear a face mask may be fined and denied entry.
• Instead of handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, place it directly on the reader yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• You are now allowed to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on luggage. This will need to be taken out for X-ray screening.
• Put any personal items (keys, wallet and phone) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during screening.
• If you want to take food on the plane with you, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to touch your food container or carry-on bag for closer inspection.
