"In a week of rain we managed to find many dry days. The location of the village was outstanding with views of the loch and an abundance of birdlife ( I counted 40 species in the area in the week). Melfort has great access to the isles through Oban and the coastline along the A 816 offers opportunities for gardens (Arduaine) and loch views from Ardfern. Onsite the Shower of Herring restaurant did not disappoint and we had two excellent meals. The resort is well maintained and this is also...

"We were very happy with our accommodation. Bad luck that the restaurant was closed but we made good use of the gorgeous old Pub just down the road. Pool was great as were other facilities."

"We stayed only two nights. The property is about 30 minutes outside of Oban at the edge of a smaller loch and just outside a small village. The staff was very accommodating and helpful, including when we had an issue (likely self-inflicted) with a washing machine. We would definitely stay again, and make time to stay longer and enjoy more of the area as well as the property’s many amenities. Strongly recommended."

"The setting is idyllic in lovely peaceful surroundings, nature all around. The cottage is large, airy and bright and everything you could need was provided. Although quite a distance from Oban, the main road was pretty quiet and a pleasant drive. The pool was an added bonus, but the sauna wasn't working. We were there on the hottest weekend of the year, so didn't need the sauna."

"This was our second visit to Melfort Village and a week of gloriously sunny weather made it one of the best holidays we have ever had. The scenery of the Argyll coast and the islands is stunning and the village is a wonderful base. The cottages are superbly comfortable and very well equipped and the whole atmosphere of the place is relaxed and friendly.
