It was an amazing property. Totally tranquil. Loved the fact that you take care of the animals around there. The cats were super cute and welcoming. We will definitely be back through out the year. Thank you for sharing a little piece of heaven with us.

We had a great stay. The cabin was just as advertised. Getting there and getting the keys was easy. Hot tub was just what we were looking for. It was cold and drizzly in Fredericksburg so we cut our shopping short and went back to the cabin early to relax, watch movies and cook dinner. Would come again just to stay and relax at the cabin.

Bf and I just spent two nights at The Hideout and loved it so much we already booked our next stay! Heavenly quiet, very private, a perfect spot for a romantic getaway, but there's lots to see and do within easy driving distance.

Loved everything!
Came to celebrate our anniversary and wanted a secluded/away from people/relaxing stay. This is exactly that. We are already figuring out when we can sneak away to come back. 20 minutes to drive into town and taste wines or eat, or pick up steaks and grill at the cabin! Highly recommend! Pack some movies and some games, download a music playlist ahead of time, and bring a book. We will be back!

Anniversary Getaway
Such a quaint place to get away from the busyness of life. We had a great time relaxing in the cabin, soaking in the hot tub in the evenings and drinking coffee in the rocking chairs in the mornings. Wonderful place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary!

Perfect When Getaway Spot
The Hideaway is just that, a perfect private getaway spot! All that was missing was a couple of robes for to and from the hot tub… Hope the deer didn’t mind! We will be back!

Quiet and soothing
We came for our 41st anniversary and some quiet time.The cabin was secluded at the end of the road and we never heard or saw anyone. It had everything we needed and an endless supply of DVDs. Thank you for a great week.

Sporadic cell phone reception & no tv except movies on blue-ray player - JUST WHAT WE NEEDED!! Was given codes to get gate key & cabin key by email about an hour & a half before our check in time. Very easy to get those. Watch for plenty of deer along the roads at night. Brought our own CD player & CD's to dance to. Hot tub & outdoor shower were great. Used battery candles for ambiance cuz of the no fire candle rule. Loved being visited by the kitties, birds, deer, & a raccoon. The cabin provided cat food & bird seed - NICE! (We bought more cat food to leave for the next people). Huge rocking chairs on the porch. Felt like we were all alone in the world. House was well stocked in what pans/pots/utensils we needed. Games were fun! Has a radio but could only get two channels. Could've used a few more towels in the kitchen & the bathroom, including paper towels. Also bring your own shampoo – we bought some & left for the next people also. Overall, it's a great cabin to have a getaway. Wasn't too far away from Fredericksburg. Walmart close by. Monday live Blues Night (6pm) at the Silver Creek Restaurant 310 E Main was wonderful - it was hot outside but under the big tree with all the fans, it didn't feel like it. Only thing we didn't like in Fredericksburg was the breakfast at the Old German Bakery 225 W Main - German pancakes tasted very bland, nothing special & the Crepes were too sweet with tons of filling. But that’s probably just us. Would DEFINITELY rent again. Would suggest at least three nights to really relax. Good Value.

Last Hurrah
Wonderfully private cabin in the Hill Country with a hot tub on the front porch and an outdoor shower to take in the rustic views and wildlife! Cute inside with a comfortable bed! Only recommendation would be for some sharper knives and more baking ware for those that like to cook in order to stay on the property. Otherwise, would highly recommend as it’s close to Fredericksburg and was an overall excellent place!

Great little get away, outside of the town!
Perfect place to get away from hustle and bustle, and enjoy some time outside! Also near so many state parks, so if you truly want a more outdoorsy getaway, this little cabin is perfect! Host was so friendly, our stay was perfect!

We absolutely loved this property! We enjoyed the wildlife and the break from our everyday responsibilities. The front porch was the perfect vantage point to watch the amazing storms that came through! We would definitely stay here again!!

The best secluded getaway we've had!
Everything was absolutely perfect about this cabin! You couldn't hear nor see the two other cabins on the property. The wildlife we saw walking right by daily was amazing! It was so clean, beautiful and peaceful. We will definitely be back!

Perfect cabin for Anniversary get-away
We stayed at the Hideout for our anniversary trip. We wanted to stay close to Fredericksburg to allow us to enjoy the town but have the quiet of the county. This cabin was in a great location, very quiet and out of the way but close enough to make the drive easy. The cabin itself is perfect for a couple. Very comfortable and clean and a beautiful natural setting. Highly recommend this place.

Wonderful cabin very private
My husband and I found this property for a quick anniversary trip. We LOVED it! We both work in a high stress/fast paced environment and we were looking for a place that was more in country and away from everything. We hit the jackpot with this one! This cabin is part of a three cabin property, however, the cabins are far enough apart that you don't see or hear other guests even at night. We were far enough away from the city that we could do some astro photography and captured MILLIONS of stars! The cabin itself is very well appointed and has everything you need. The hot tub was great on the front porch, also. Check in was also very easy. I would give this place 7 stars if I could! We will be back!!!

Phenomenal, Grounding Experience
We were absolutely blown away by the ease of booking/check-in, the incredible property the owners have created, and the serenity we were able to feel in this environment. This cabin had EVERYTHING we needed for a worry-free stay, relaxing in the hot tub, feeding kittens, and snuggling up to watch comfort-food movies with the electric fireplace. Every detail of the home screamed 'thoughtfulness', and we're so grateful (and inspired) to have been welcomed for our stay. What an incredible experience to begin our year with.

Surpassed our expectations!
Hill Country.. Quiet. Secluded. Outdoor covered hot tub. ✔ ✔ ✔ and ✔ Hideaway had my top requirements. Exact location was not high on my list, and VRBO suggested several properties. I took my time looking over them in depth--looking at photos, reading reviews, exploring things to do nearby. Hideaway sounded just right, but it was so much more than we hoped for! Since we were a 20 minute drive into Fredericksburg, I got the perfect quiet seclusion I wanted. Only stars, crickets, and coyotes. Scenic drives to everything we wanted to do. Hideaway was clean and comfortable, and the owners had thought of everything. They provided suggestions about things to do and places to eat, and reminded us about the likelihood of encountering local wildlife. (Coyotes sang every evening, and hogs came by to say hi) The kitchen, bath, and hot tub had everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable. The electric fireplaces were a nice touch. It was so hard to leave Hideaway. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

We enjoyed this property so much from the outdoor shower to the little kitten that came to greet us every morning please feed this lil guy while your stay we got to see some deer, and some raccoons . Cabin was so clean smelled fresh and couldn’t have asked for anything more to make this place our number 1 in our list !!

Great getaway
My husband and I booked this stay for our honeymoon!! When we arrived, accessing the gate key and cabin key was very easy! We were extremely pleased with the location and how private the cabin was. Everything was very clean upon arrival. We had one hiccup when the water heater hose burst and we had to move to a different location for the night, but everyone was so responsive and so quick to get the issue fixed and we were back in the next day super quick! The owner was very accommodating and so so so nice!! We really enjoyed the outdoor shower, the fire pit, and the jacuzzi!! It was the perfect quiet getaway for my husband and I. We have three kids, so the peace and quiet was so lovely!! It was also really nice that the drive into town was super easy and only about 20 minutes. We enjoyed spending the day in Fredericksburg and then coming back to the quiet. The only qualm we had was the poor service(cell phone) but that’s only because we have kids and I wanted to make sure we were reachable in case anything happened. I would absolutely LOVE to stay again!! We had such a wonderful time!!!

If you want seclusion and nature, look no further!
The Hideout Cabin was perfect. Not far from town, but far enough to enjoy the peacefulness of the area. Loved sitting on the porch listening to nature and catching glimpses of the wildlife.

The Hideout - White tail Oaks
Our only frustration was with the check in process. Owner/management is not willing to give out exact location details as well as gate AND door entry codes ( to get keys to gate padlock and cabin door ). I realize this is for security purposes, but the last minute cell phone email was frustrating to follow as cell service was spotty. Long story short we were helped by a patient housekeeper ( on the phone ) getting in. The place is charming, appointed with all the necessities and some luxuries. Peaceful, isolated surroundings in nature. Two other similar rental cabins on the property. Not far from Fredericksburg.

Pictures don’t do it justice!
This cabin is beautiful and extremely secluded! There are two other cabins on the property but you can’t see them from the cabin. The Hot Tub was great and they also had a great selection of DVD’s to pop in! You have to try the outdoor shower! There’s nothing like it! I can’t wait to come back!

Great long weekend get away
Had a great time stayimg at this property. View of the night sky is amazing because this property is far enough from town to not get any light pollution. A 15 minute drive puts you on main street Fredericksburg so everything is well within driving distance. Cabin itself has everything you need and decent phone reception for those who can't cut the cord for a few days. Be sure to bring K-cups or the reusable cup where you can use your own coffee. If you love bird watching, there are a few bird feeders within a few feet of the front porch where we saw several cardinals and smaller birds come and go all day long. There is a small fire pit out back for ambience or s'mores along with a typical state park style grill for burgers or hot dogs. Kitchen comes pretty well stocked with whatever you need. If you're doing some serious cooking then suggest bringing along some larger kitchen knives for preparation since they only have smaller stuff. Bathroom is large with good sized shower and an electric heater/fireplace next to the tub. Be careful as the hot water works extremely well. There are two other cabins on this property, but they're far enough away for privacy which is needed because the bathroom window doesnt have a curtain and looks out into the front yard. Overall a very nice property. Check in was very easy. Would consider staying here again.

My husband and I truly enjoyed out trip to Fredricksburg. This inn is so cute and our room was amazing. We took advantage of the kitchen and cooked our breakfast in the morning and relaxed in the hot tub at night. It is the perfect distance from main street.

We stayed in the Tuscan Suite for a weekend getaway. While the suite is cute, it is also very small and a bit deceiving from the pictures. The suite is part of a bed and breakfast inside an old house and has its own entrance (great!), however, you can hear the people in the rooms surrounding the suite. To the point where it was hard to sleep. The bathroom has a traditional soaker tub and that is it. No shower. Also, the bathroom is only separated from the bedroom by a curtain. Not a huge deal, but important to know. The location is the best part of the suite! Very close to Main Street and within walking distance to almost everything. When we return to Fredericksburg we will look for a place a little more modern and updated.
