"Location was excellent but the main road was busy with cars parked on double yellow lines outside the entrance to the property. Nice modern apartment. We had to replace the batteries in the remotes as none worked . The yard needs weeding. The bedding was low quality. The first night was peaceful as there was no one if the flat above us however the second was dreadful. We could hear constant footsteps running up and down . Shouting and screaming kids. Tv was on full blast . Went on till gone 11...

"Would appear the hotel has been sold to a new proprietor hence the lack of attention Kitchen not opened and bar closed unfortunately and had to go into the local village to get food"

"Hotel charges £10 extra to park which wasn’t evident in any communications prior to arrival. On arrival reception insisted we only had the family room booked for 2 people. After insisting I had booked it for 4 people they discovered that it was an error on their systems. Room decor was very dated and worn, toilet cistern leaked, room was incredibly hot, could hear every move of the room/people above - creaking floors, bed and even flushing toilet. On top of that noise from some generator outside our room. Ordered 4 meals for dinner and after 45 minutes only 3 arrived, again an issue with systems, 4th meal arrived after we finished eating with a free drink as an apology. Hotel pool was a plus. We were required to provide a time to attend breakfast the night before although it was buffet style and the restaurant was barely 10% full - I don’t really what to be held to a schedule on holiday. Despite there being a pool I definitely wouldn’t stay there again. A good quiet night sleep is worth a lot more than a swim!"

"The hotel itself was clean and tidy but the attitude and language of some members of staff was very rude and unhelpful. We were told at check-in that breakfast was served from 7am- 10am but when we came down on our last morning for breakfast at 9.30 we were told that breakfast had finished at 9 am and they couldn’t offer us tost or juice because they were waiting for a delivery! We also had a meal the first night and I was served an undercooked half a chicken! I didn’t realise until I had eaten some and suffered a severe upset stomach and stomach pains during the following day. This was a very disappointing stay and would definitely NOT recommend this hotel! There is a Premier Inn 10 minutes away from The Valley Hotel-book that instead!"

"Hotel name is not visible from the street. Parking on site was appreciated. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was 'open' but the cook was not there. After a while they reached her by phone and she would be there in 15 minutes, and was told to take our orders and I paid for two 'specials'. After arrival, the cook/owner(?) came out and chatted with several locals and then brought her dog out to visit with a guests dog. Later she came out with a hairnet on making me optimistic. We had an overnight flight and a long day to this point. One couple came out of the kitchen with full meals. We watched them eat and take home the leftovers. Keep in mind no one had ordered food before us. Next, another couple were served, and ate their food. Clearly they noticed we had been waiting longer. After a while my food came out. 10 or 15 minutes later, my friend was told the cook read the order wrong and was now going to remake her food. By now I was finished, the bartender offered my friend a glass of beer, same as we had on arrival. By then she was past it, we were tired, hungry and angry. Eventually she got her food, and ate alone. Our meals were not worth waiting ..and waiting for. We were there for hours. The cook coming out and apologizing would have been a nice gesture. The next night we went elsewhere for food."
